Where did you find the stepping stones with the quote from Hans Christian Anderson?

    • April 15, 2013 at 9:11 am

They came from a company that did custom quotes/words on pavers or stones about 15 years ago that is no longer in business :(

What a wonderful quote, and to have it remind you daily with your stepping stones…Oh you make me want to garden today! I love your watering can full of blooms and all the little surprises you tuck in your beautiful photos…
    Have a great day,

It looks like you spent the weekend doing the same thing I did. Your space looks more filled in than mine.

Love the patina on the green watering can.

  13. April 15, 2013 at 11:11 am

Your potting shed is so adorable, I could move right in there. Those stepping stones are the perfect touch. xo

  14. April 15, 2013 at 11:30 am

so adorable, where did you find those, or did you make them? i am smitten with the plum and watercan, twins of course, we just love the same things, ALL THE SAME THINGS! seeing you post is like coming home, i know i will always love whatever you share :-)

The stepping stones look like slate. It will be a time-consuming project but do you think (and I know you are creative) that you could print/stencil the wording on and seal it with a heavy duty sealer?

    • April 15, 2013 at 4:41 pm

They’re stone slabs that were engraved. You probably could stencil & seal a flat surface stone or slate with a phrase or message :)

  17. April 15, 2013 at 6:21 pm

Your flowers, words and photos inspire me!

I have always loved that HCA Quote. Your containers are looking very pretty already.

  19. April 15, 2013 at 9:00 pm

Now, that is just too bad that the company that made the stepping stones is out of business. They would probably receive beaucoup orders after everyone saw your post!

  20. April 15, 2013 at 9:42 pm

Gosh, Mary, this is so pretty! I can’t wait to get out and get my pots going this week! I get motivated each time I visit you!

  21. April 15, 2013 at 10:18 pm

I love your potting shed! So much inspiration in this post. I have great hopes for turning our old smokehouse into a picture-pretty shed even though the big generator has to stay there–and it’s the home of our half-lab/half pyrenees.

  22. April 15, 2013 at 11:38 pm

Your flowers, and containers are beautiful! We are bringing some of our flowers etc. from the old house as they start to bloom. Have a great week, Mary. XO, Pinky

If you ever take boarders for your little potting shed, I want to be first in line!! I get to swoon whenever I come visit that magical spot. Hugs!!

  24. April 17, 2013 at 9:19 am

Splendor in the garden….I do not really know how to describe it, other than magical…the garden steps are fantastic…I love the message from Hans Christian Andersen…so perfect…..and off to order that wonderful garden book!! Hope your day is full of sunshine and lots of flowers!!

  25. April 17, 2013 at 6:36 pm

Your potting shed is a true celebration of spring, Mary! I love the stepping stones!!

  26. April 18, 2013 at 12:10 pm

Absolutely gorgeous!!! I didn’t even realize it was a shed – I thought it was a house LOL

As a florist I love placing flowers in rustic and unusual vessels. Great to know that I’m not alone.

  31. April 20, 2013 at 9:44 pm

What perfect pavers. I assume you had these made. Such fun to see all the special details of your little potting cottage. It’s more than a shed, you know! ‘-)
