I’m at the table with the colorful and sunny dinnerware of Merisella by Pfaltzgraff, enjoying the flowers and welcome sunshine! After two weeks of rain, I’m happy to be dining outdoors again! One benefit to those April showers besides May flowers, is that they wash the pollen away…*achoo* :)
Jana Kolpen & Mary Tiegreen, the creators of Pistoulet and Villa della Luna, bring the sunny and vivid colors of Merisella to the table, inspired by Jana Kolpen’s sojourn in the beautiful city of Barcelona.
Bold colors and patterns of hand-painted tiles found in Spanish kitchens and the famous Gaudi mosaics of Barcelona, were translated from the original watercolors of Jana Kolpen’s paintbrush into Merisella dinnerware.
The passion for living in the vibrant city of Barcelona was brought to life in square tapas plates. . .
Whimsical and colorful espresso cups. . .
And a square dipping bowl set with tray (serving up azalea blooms here :) . . .
Ideal for dips, condiments or antipasto.
Lifestyle-based dinnerware, Marisella by Pfaltzgraff, is crafted of earthenware and is microwave and dish washer safe.
Patterned salad plates provide an opportunity to express yourself. . .
So you are the artist and table becomes your palette, mixing and matching, and building and layering.

Wow Mary, just love the blue and yellow mix at this table. Might have to get me a set of this pattern. What joy these colors bring to the table! Great setting with the blooming Azaela and Lake in the background. This setting is over the top, just like your artistic creativity.
The dishes are so vibrant and colorful, Mary, and of course, you displayed them beautifully. I love the different and unique patterns. The espresso cups, the salad plates, and the tapas plates are my favorites.
I’m glad you can enjoy your pretty lake view after all your rain.
I love how you have a choice of not only different patterns but I love all the different shapes. The colors are so happy and bright. A lovely tablescape with beautiful flowers and view!
Squeal! You know I love this dinnerware Mary! I had “pitcher love” before I read the first word! It definitely looks like authentic Spanish earthenware pottery, and I love all the mix and match patterns and colors, swoooooon :) I have been a very bad girl at Home Goods lately, so these pretties will have to be on my wish list for later~ LOVE the square tapas plates and the mismatch saucers with the expresso cups, and the antipasto tray, and the salad plates and, and, and!! What a wonderful set for sunny summer days! Of course the sunflowers are the perfect choice for your stunning lakeside setting. Once again I begin my Monday with a bright smile brought by you~

Hi Mary, I love blue and yellow together so this table is making me so happy! The cobalt glasses are the perfect complement to this interesting pattern. It would be perfect for many occasions and the little square dishes are really fun. Linda
This is a beautiful set of dishes enhanced by your fabulous lake side setting! The water and azaleas in the background are gorgeous. I love every bit of these dishes, the tapas plates, bowls, cups, everything! We don’t have anything but bulbs blooming yet but this week should bring out some flowers. It is going up to the 70’s!!! Yippee!
So pretty! It does remind me of Pistoulet a lot. Our pollen invasion ends in June, so you really can’t set up outside till then! Don’t forget the challenge Wed. night! :)
What a fun, and festive setting this is. The colors are just gorgeous together! I love the way you’ve set your table by the water with your garden flowers as a backdrop. It doesn’t get any better than this.

Definitely makes me think of summer too! Love the colors in the dinnerware and the flowers (actually, everything else on the table) are perfect with them!
My favorite pieces…? The demitasse set!
I noticed there was a cream and sugar set but no coffeepot?
As usual the photos of your tables are lovely, but all I can take away from this post is the beautiful lake scenery and that your are “dining outside”! Its been a long, cold winter in Chicago with temps still lingering in the 50s. It will be AT LEAST 6 weeks before we can think about enjoying meals outdoors at our lake home in Wisconsin. Meanwhile, I will enjoy your amazing photos and yummy recipes!
Mary,
Your stunning lake view and fuchsia-colored azalea are the perfect background for your blue and yellow table setting.
As always, your table is just beautiful.
Mary,
Thank you for featuring Merisella. It was a project from the heart and a love for Barcelona. You did such a lovely job with all the table settings. You are a true artist!

I see we’re on the same color wheel page! Love all of this. Those dishes are fantastic. I want the pitcher- gonna have to own it! I chose to leave my sunflowers as soloists but they do look beautiful when accompanied by other flowers like you did. I wish Mikasa/Lifetime Brands would pick me to send dishes to and do Tablescapes!
