At the Table: Red and Green Plaid and Pfaltzgraff Dancing Snowflakes

DSC_1564-001

I’m at the table with red and green plaid and Pfaltzgraff Dancing Snowflakes dinnerware.

DSC_1492

Dancing Snowflakes by Pfaltzgraff provides a little Christmas cheer in a classic color combination of red, green and white for the table. Constructed of porcelain, it’s microwave and dishwasher safe.

DSC_1567

A plaid tablecloth provides the quintessential Christmas red and green for a festive foundation for the table.

DSC_1467

A deer adorns the salad plates and mugs and is found leaping inside the soup bowls.

DSC_1449

I’m mad about plaid and found fun plaid chargers at Michaels! They provide an additional pattern to punctuate and frame the plates.

DSC_1491

I filled my galvanized metal 3-tier stand some red and green for a centerpiece for the table~ candy canes, ornaments, and bottle brush trees. Rock salt provides a little a little wintery atmosphere and contrast for bright red ornaments.

DSC_1454

A snowflake ornament garland swags from the tiers, hanging along side candy canes for a festive and sweet touch.

DSC_1532

And an assortment of bottle brush trees are nestled in the rock salt of the tray, and in green Epsom salt-filled Ball jars for a wintery mix.

DSC_1463

Ornaments with prancing deer and snowy white trees top mugs at the table.

And paisley and plaid napkins are paired with silver napkin rings.

Once again you have created another stunning holiday table. Thank you for sharing your gifted decorating talent with others. You have inspired me to start thinking of decking the halls.

Plaid and paisley are two of my favorites Mary! You’ve set a fun and festive table I could easily see everyone relaxing and chatting around. Nice to see the first snowflakes went south this year:@)

Hi Mary, I LOVE this pattern! I’m looking for a new set for Christmas morning and later, and I think these could be easily used into January for a wintery table too! And the green Ball jars are perfect with the little snowscape inside. Adding the plaid is genius for a cozy touch on a wintery day. Christmas season is my favorite time and this table is awakening my creative urges. Thanks! Linda

Beautiful tablescape, love the dishes, I just traded out my Fiesta dishes for my Mikasa Vanilla ones for November.

  8. November 9, 2015 at 8:07 am

Now if your festive, cheery table doesn’t put one in the Christmas spirit, I don’t know what would! The dishes are a pretty wintry pattern and I love how you paired them with the plaids and the paisley. Mary, you worked your creative magic on the centerpiece with the galvanized tray, the canning jars with the bottle brush trees and the salts and garland. Oh, to be a guest at your table would be such a treat!

Thank you for sharing another beautiful tablescape. I love the way the contrasting patterns make it all happen. Also gives me an idea of how to use my green ball jars over the holiday season. =) Have a beautiful wek

Such a great combination of pattern and play. Love it all, but I’m crazy for plaid too.

Oh Mary, this makes me want to get out my Xmas things and play! What fun dinnerware that can be used for Xmas as well as through the winter! Of course I love all your added touches with the snow filled galvanized stand full of goodies and the reindeer~ Love the large plaid cloth then the smaller plaid chargers and the plaid napkins paired with another print, it’s all so Merry! You never cease to amaze me. You use so many things – but it all works to perfection. I wish you were my neighbor. I’d trade you homemade cinnamon rolls for a short consult on what to put where! You’re amazing.

Oh my goodness, Mary…I adore every inch of this tablescape!!! The creative way you’ve assembled it just blows my mind….I am sooo envious of your talents in this regard.
I already have 2 of those Pfaltzgraff Red All Purpose Glasses & I’m running off to their site to buy more, since they’re on sale right now. Red works so well for so many holiday tables. I’m finally looking forward to doing Turkey Day as well as Christmas dinner for my family this year.

Thanks for showing all these delightful possibilities!

Dropping everything to run to Michaels for those plaid chargers- Pottery barn knock offs????. Love the green Mason jars too. I was married the day after Christmas so it was no surprise that my wedding gifts happily included sets of Spode’s Christmas Tree pattern as well as Lenox’s Holiday pattern. Love them both.

    • November 9, 2015 at 1:03 pm

Hi Patricia, The chargers are plastic as opposed to porcelain or stoneware but they are cute and very affordable at 40% off so they’re $2.70 each :)

I am so excited, I just ordered some online, there are codes for 25% off the order and for 2.95 shipping right now, too. I’d love to have the china ones but these fit my budget! Thanks for showing them on this beautiful table.

  22. November 9, 2015 at 1:09 pm

    So bright and cheerful!

Although I don’t particularly care much for ‘animal life’ depicted in dishware (except for my blue and white Oriental fish plates – no idea why) – these are beautiful and so festive!

The plaid and paisley are a perfect complement…Another winner, Mary!

I just bought the charger plates. Doing plaid and leopard this year ala Ralph Lauren. Thanks for the charger plate tip!

  24. November 9, 2015 at 6:29 pm

I tried ordering the chargers online but have to buy 12, so am calling my local Michaels to see if they have them. I LOVE THEM!!! I also love every bit of this table. I am on the lookout for a tiered server, they are so wonderfully versatile!!!

    Mary,

Love your beautiful Christmas tablescape!! With the weather yesterday in the 40’s and today only in the 50’s, it sets the mood for the holidays. Our 20th wedding anniversary is December 22nd.

  30. November 10, 2015 at 9:53 pm

I am mad for your plaid table, and the prancing deer dishes are too cute! I’m so glad you told where you found those plaid chargers. The closest Michael’s store is Columbia and I hope they don’t sell out before I get there! I will check to see if I can order online!

  31. November 12, 2015 at 9:09 pm

I cannot begin to think of a Christmas table until after Thanksgiving, but that doesn’t mean I can enjoy your creativity!

  32. November 13, 2015 at 12:06 am

I always find inspiration at your tables. Often, you have used something that I have but haven’t thought of in that way. I am glad to see you using the green ball jars that I haven’t used since spring. They are perfect for Christmas. I really like how you used the galvanized stand too. I have one tucked away that I want to now pull out. Such pretty plaids. Perfect with the dishes. I am trying desperately to resist buying any more Christmas dishes but these are so pretty. Thank you for the inspiration!

Mary, your tablescapes always add joy, and this one adds a little magic, too. The mix of patterns are beautiful and festive. Love your wee tree in the Mason jar! And I love seeing your artful touch with the galvanized tin compote. Thanks for the inspiration and fun.
