My Potting Shed was featured in She Sheds: A Room of Your Own, by Erika Kotite, published by Cool Springs Press/Quarto Publishing Group. “She” was honored to be included among the examples of She Sheds in this book!
You can find her in the “Sheds for Gardeners” chapter. Other chapters in the book include “What’s Your Shed Style?”, “The Artist’s Studio”, “Old-Soul Sheds”, “Stylish Sheds”, “Backyard Getaways”, and “Build a She Shed from a Kit”.
She Sheds by Erika Kotite, shows you how to create cozy getaways with inspiration from across the country. Start by defining the goal and purpose of your space. Will you use it for entertaining, crafting, or alone time? Then, use the gallery of over 100 photos as inspiration for your decor, paint colors, and landscaping. You’ll even find fun upcycling ideas to personalize your space.
We built my Potting Shed in 2012. You see how she’s grown and find some seeds of inspiration, HERE.
Other Potting Shed posts, including her move, landscaping, projects and how she changes with the seasons can be found at the Potting Shed tab at the top page, HERE.
“Putting the ‘she’ in a gardening shed means adding a little something extra— a comfortable place to sit, a few decorative touches, or maybe collections to celebrate the art of gardening.”
“The beauty of a she shed is its small footprint, making it easy to fit onto your property and still afford a unique getaway for your creative pursuits – gardening, meditating, reading, painting, or simply hearing yourself think.”
“Part of the fun of a she shed is using salvage and recycled finds. You’ll finally have a perfect use for that wonderful carved door you bought an estate sale five years ago. Your shed provides the space for that collection of . . .

“In this book you’ll discover she sheds from around the world, exquisite in their uniqueness, all owned, design, and enjoyed by women. If you’re fantasizing about building your own she shed, consider this a reality guidebook for gathering ideas and seeing how others brought their sheds to life.”
“If, on the hand, you just feel like entering into these tiny homes through the pages of this book as enjoyment and fodder for your dreams, that’s fine too. Whatever your desire you are welcome here.”
I shared a giveaway in January for She Sheds, and shortly after the book was sold out and had to be reordered by the publisher. It’s back in stock and available online and I just saw it on the shelves at Lowe’s this week while doing a little garden shopping!
With the book back in stock, I have 3 additional copies of She Sheds: A Room of Your Own to give away.
To enter the giveaway and for a chance to win a copy, tell me if you do have or had a she shed, how you would use it. . .
Crafting, gardening, puttering and playing, relaxing or reading?
This giveaway is open to those living in the continental U.S.
The winners will be chosen June 23rd.
THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED.
