Celebrate fall’s final days with a cozy lakeside table set for a harvest hoot! 🍂🦉 Owl plates, warm plaid layers, and pumpkins come together under autumn’s golden light.

Happy Thursday!
Whooooo besides me wishes fall lasted just a little longer?

It feels like fall had just arrived when we woke up to an arctic blast and plummeting temperatures on Tuesday.

Thankfully, the chill was short-lived with temperatures back on the rise, reaching 70 by the weekend.

Regular readers know fall is my favorite season!
🍂 🍁 🍂
With Thanksgiving two weeks away, I’m sharing a lakeside table for fall’s
last hurrah, before it’s time to trade in the pumpkins and mums
for jingle bells and boughs of holly!

Join my parliament of owls and have a seat at the table . . .

Owl appetizer plates are layered on harvest plaid plates,
adding some warm fall color and pattern,
while nesting on ‘feathers’ stoneware chargers.

For an additional touch of whimsy, more owls flew in, in the form of ornaments from our Winter Nesting Tree
to join the centerpiece at the table.
I love when decorations can migrate from one season to the next! 🦉

Owl stemmed glasses are a favorite for any autumn gathering to add some woodland charm. . .
perfect for sipping cider, wine, or cocktails during the Owl-idays or celebrate a Happy Owl-oween.

Table Details:

‘Feathers’ Stoneware Chargers / John Derian for Target, last year

‘Owl’ leave you with a beautiful sunrise — a reminder from nature to slow down, breathe in the crisp air, and savor every golden moment of fall.
🌅🍂🦉

Hope you’re staying warm and cozy from the arctic blast. 🧡

L🤎VE!! That plate stack, those owl appetizers – gorgeous! Those feather charger plates are so versatile, and i love the glassware, textiles and flowers. We actually had a winter preview Mon-Tues, with 4″ of snow! We were in Cincinnati where it’s usually worse, but it wasn’t this time. Once home, the snow had melted, but my celosia had finally collapsed, and ghinko trees everywhere had skirts of yellow leaves beneath them. I wish fall had a longer life than summer or winter, for sure.
What a beautiful table! Love the mix of plaid and the cute amber owl stemware,
That last photo was stunning!
Good morning, Mary. The sunrise photo is breathtaking. I love everything on your table. The owl appetizer plates are perfect for the owl-themed table along with the owl glasses. I am sad to see autumn bid us farewell. Twenty one degrees greeted us on Tuesday morning. We are now back up to the 70’s. I would have loved to join you at your gorgeous table! Happy Thursday 🧡
Mary, The owl table is fabulous! I love the plate stack. The appetizer plates and napkins are so pretty. The lake looks so serene. The last photo is gorgeous! Have a great day! Clara❤️
Hoo Hoo Hoo loves you….We all do that’s hoo!!!!!! Thanks for sending all of us a beautiful touch of fall! What beautiful pictures that have brought a smile to so many. We are all so THANKFUL for YOU!
Hi Mary ~ what a beautiful, nature-filled post ! We have a few barn owls living in our woods and nearly every night we hear them talking (hooting) back and forth to each other. When they get too close, our Labrador gives them a good woof warning ! Nature is the most wonderful thing in our world ! Hugs, Dorinda
This is one of my favorites of yours Mary! I adore owls and you elevated them to their place of honor with this homage to them.
Every little detail is so wonderful Mary – you set such beautiful tables! Just when I’m oohing and ahhing over one picture, I scroll to the next and see something else adorable! I love it all! And of course your gorgeous view. Thanks for that last picture – I felt my whole body relax!! Hope you get a little more fall!
Oh my what a beautiful sky of God’s workmanship. I also really like your owl
Plates and napkins. Your blog is always such a joy for me. I get excited to open it every time. Thank you
Oh that sunset over your lake Norman with the pumpkins! Gorgeous! I love Fall and I love Owls so you really got me on this one. Which reminds me…it’s the time of year I can call in the great horned owls at my coast house. One time when I was calling them in one got so close in the trees next to my house that is totally startled me. It had flown into the trees next to me and when it answered my call right by my side I thought that’s a little too close…lol.
I love owls! We have Great Horned Owls that frequently visit our backyard tree.
I love your owl plates, and they make your plate stack so perfect. The owl ornaments, napkins, and owl glasses are added treasures for this stunning table. This is one of my favorites. And then that sunrise! How magical! Thank you, Mary.
I know your love for owls Mary, and you have outdone yourself with this owl themed table. The appetizer plates and those gorgeous napkins are fabulous!
What a great table! I can’t believe how many things I actually own that you have on this table, including the glassware and plaid plates. How I missed those wonderful napkins is beyond me. I love those.
Mary your last photo had me smiling…so beautiful. I love the table un-adorned as it is like saying…Fall is gone and so is the table setting. I adore owls too and have many of the same pieces just as Pattie alluded to above in her comments. I have always envied your waterside views…what a joy to live so close to the lake. Have a great and wonderful week end.
Mary, what a beautiful fall setting! I love the owls!! The plaids are a perfect combination with the autumn colors.
Many thanks
Love the owl plates and that last photo is wonderful. Gorgeous.
You are truly amazing. Those plaid plates are TDF. I wish so much Pier 1 hadn’t gone out of business……darn it Covid!!! Have a BEAUTIFUL Thanksgiving, Mary!!!
