I’ve feathered my Potting Shed with some holiday nesting materials~ fresh greenery, pine cones and a little plaid for a Merry Potting Shed Christmas!
A live wreath needed some additional feathering, so I cut some berries and Leyland Cypress, to add some fullness and frame to plate on the door in greeting.
And a chickadee flew in to light since
since birds of a feather flock together. . .
A birdhouse is perched in the window box along with magnolia, cedar, cypress, and pine. A tartan ribbon swags through for a little color.
An obelisk has been planted on the porch with berries,
pine garland, and some ribbon for plaid tidings.
A silver gazing ball is nested in a boxwood wreath and perched on top of reproduction olive bucket among some galvanized watering cans.
that was so delightful, all the elements of garden i love melded together with all your southern charm. all i kept thinking was how much fun you had putting it all together~
My favorite potting shed looks so cozy in all it’s Christmas finery, dear Mary. You have thought of everything…. even the garden gloves have greenery peeking out. I love the canning jars filled with birdseed and votives. Now all you need is a little snow to complete the Christmas picture. xo
Everything looks so pretty Mary! The greenery is just beautiful and I love your seasonal greeting plate on the door! Big smiles here, enjoy your week:@)
The most beautiful potting shed I have ever seen. Just be careful that the Raccoons don’t get into your jars with seeds. Love your pretty wreath ! Merry Christmas Mary .
decorating with a bird theme is always a favorite of mine. I love everything about this! using fresh greenery makes me want to raid the forest…but is it legal? :-)
Very Merry indeed! From the framed feathered friends plate on the door to the wire cloches dressed and adorned, pops of red and plaid throughout, it is truly a Jolly scene! I hope you can relax and enjoy for a while~perhaps a cookie and a cup of tea sitting on the step enjoying the magic you’ve created!
I know I tell you all the time, but when you feature your adorable little potting shed, it makes my day. They are my favorite posts on your blog! I one the wreath and plate hanging on the door. Very inspiring!
Mary, I have been looking at this post for so long my breakfast is cold! Oh, you never cease to amaze, entertain and inspire me! I love every single detail… and that bird’s nest in the wellies is spot on! Saving so many ideas for next Christmas!
I’m almost speechless when seeing all this beauty! You are so gifted….the ability to decorate the way you do!! Gorgeous! Thank you for sharing these amazing ideas with us!
It is a merry and delightful potting shed all decorated with fresh greenery, berries and birds. I especially love the plate in your wreath on the door.
How pretty everything looks, Mary! I am going to copy your greens in the galvanized watering can just as soon as I can get my boots on!!!! You’re lucky you live where you can “play” outside with all this decorating. It is too frickin’ cold here to be out for very long.
LOVE the wire cages filled with ornaments. Gosh, you are SOOOO creative!! I’m taking notes, as usual.
Mary, the potting shed is adorable in any season, but dressed in this Christmas green and red really does make a joyful statement. Your little abode reminds me of my childhood playhouse that was once a potting shed. My parents emptied it out and allowed me to have it has a playhouse. Oh, such sweet memories of long ago. ;-)
Love the way you filled the wire cloches. I have a set of three that I was going to fill with something for the holidays, but they sit on the porch still planted with greenery. Guess it won’t happen this year. ;-) I’m pinning your image for inspiration for next year or possibly the new year.
Happy Day, my friend………Sarah
Hi Mary, I am always enthralled with the potting shed. I love the seeds, the rake adorned with greenery, and the plate wreath. Have a blessed and Merry Christmas, Olive.
I LOVE your potting shed! I could live there. It looks so pretty decorated for the holiday, but then it always looks so nice. May I ask where you got the large red metal compass? Not sure that is what it is called.
I love seeing your potting shed decorated for ANY season, you always do such an amazing job! No detail is forgotten. I guess you don’t have squirrels, cause if I had seed in jars like that they would knowck the jars over and maybe break them to get the seed. Have a beautiful week!!!
I always love seeing those fabulous Wellies dressed for all of the seasons…you have certainly done lots of amazing feathering…I can’t imagine how great the smells of the evergreens are when you approach the garden cottage!…your designs are always magnificent!
Mary, I can just imagine the heavenly aroma of all those greens on the shed’s porch! I always love seeing what your boots are up to. With all those cute birdhouses I can see why the birds like your neighborhood! We are all iced in here after the big storm and the birds are emptying the bird feeders quickly. Maybe I will put out an urn like yours! Linda
Well, you’ve done it again…what a wonderful post. Of course I’m smitten with your potting shed and anything with a bird theme. You had me with the very first photo! :)
So after seeing your Wellies in a previous post, I picked up a pair of red plaid ones in a kid’s consignment shop in town. (And my daughter thought she was going to wear them b/c they were her size. Ha!) So, today, I finally got around to putting some artificial greenery in them to spruce them up, but I’ve got to say, you make me want to go and cut down a pine tree out back. It’s all gorgeous, as always. Merry Christmas! BTW, Home Goods is closed the day after Christmas! I wouldn’t want you beating me in there to get those 50% off dishes! ;o)
I love your potting shed and especially those bird embroidered gardening gloves! My 2 BFFs would love them too. Can you share where you got them so I can do a little online shopping? Santa needs some help this time of year! Thank you for the inspiration, Mary!
Mary: you have the most fabulous decorating sense for the holidays! I just love everything you do….& I love your recipes too! I started decorating for Christmas on Nov. 12 & all that week & then fussed with it for weeks! But I was done at the beginning of Dec. so I could enjoy it.
I can only imagine how much fun you have puttering in your potting shed and getting it ready for the holidays. That project is certainly one that has given you (and us) much joy this year.
Wow, the shed is certainly decked for Christmas. So much beautiful greenery and berries. Your mind is always on go, always such creative feature you share with us. Love it, Merry Christmas.
Mary,
Your exterior decor is stunning, dear one!!!
I, especially, adore all the bird and nature themed accessories!!!
The wreath with the plate, the cup and saucer amidst the seed,
and the magnolia sprays are what truly caught my eye!!!

This is the first time I have visited your lovely blog. I will be spending more time here. Love your wellies. I filled up my pink wellies with holiday greenery last year for my ” Im dreaming of a pink Christmas” post. I love the bird seed mason jar candle holders. Too cute.. Happy holidays.
I’m so impressed with your potting shed decorated for Christmas. It’s so beautiful and so many creative ideas to “borrow”: a plate in a wreath, a birdhouse in the window box, jar with candle in the planter, greenery in watering cans and plaid ribbon. They are some of my favorite things and I love how you have arranged them. Thanks for sharing!
I ran upon your blog thru Pinterest and ABSOLUTELY love your shed and all the holiday decorations. It is an inspiration for how I want to decorate my shed and house. I am curious if you know what the colors are called that you used on the shed ? I would love to consider those or close for our shed
