Happy Friday! I’m sharing my love of the Red, White and Blue with a patriotic-inspired theme tree!

Red finial ornaments add some red sparkle and shine to the tree.

Red, white and blue paper hanging fans from Walmart (3 for $1.47) added a festive and affordable patriotic decoration to the tree.

Along with patriotic ribbon, I found patriotic party picks at Michaels that I placed on the tree to resemble 4th of July fireworks display. . .

Mini American flags added to the tree provide a Stars and Stripes Salute!

I included some nautical touches to the tree.

Boat ornaments from a stash of lake Christmas tree ornaments were happy to be launched out of the attic and onto the tree . . .

And join some mini ‘Welcome Aboard’ life ring ornaments and fishing bobber garland.

Boxes of sparklers were added to the tree and ready to light. . .

My neighborhood will be celebrating with an all day event beginning with a kiddie parade and flag raising ceremony and ending with a potluck dinner and fireworks courtesy of Boystown. This is the 41st year this neighborhood celebration has taken place. My husband is retired Air Force and I am proud to be an American! Thanks to all veterans for their service!

  2. June 22, 2018 at 6:26 am

Oh Mary…What a beautiful patriotic tree and tribute to our troops. I love the addition of your nautical details on your porch combined with the patriotic stars and stripes! My husband has a patriotic playlist that he compiled with favorites like Lee Greenwood’s ‘God Bless the USA’ and Martina McBride’s ‘Independence Day’ that we play every year when we cook out with family and our neighborhood has a 4th of July parade that the grands enjoy as they decorate their bikes. I’ll be sorry when they grow out of that tradition! Thank you for this beautiful post and chance to win a set of ornaments. I can only imagine how wonderful it is to enjoy your beautiful lake and tree on your porch.

I really enjoyed seeing the decorations. You really have a talent for displaying the seasons and holidays. A far as decorations go, I have a patriotic quilt hanging in my entry way. We will probably have BBQ and smoked brisket with family and friends and give our son a call in Germany who is a disabled combat veteran.

Mary, We’re proud to be Americans as my dad served in WWII and my grandfather in WWI. Hearing the Star-Spangled Banner always brings tears to my eyes. Our family celebrates every year with my hubby manning the grill and everyone brings their favorite side or dessert (there are around 20 of us counting the kiddos) and then we look forward to fireworks. Thank you for all your wonderful patriotic posts. God Bless the USA!

I start off Independence Day w a little prayer thanking God for our “self evident rights”given to us by Him. I read the first and last paragraphs of the Dec. of Independence. I find the signers reliance on Divine Providence and their pledge to each other very moving . Other than that, I just enjoy a summer day.

  6. June 22, 2018 at 6:52 am

Hurray for the Red, White & Blue!! Now I want to set up a patriotic tree to enjoy on our porch at the lake! I love your combination of ribbon and ornaments and of course those cute boat ornaments. We celebrate watching the fireworks over the water after our Star-Spangled feast and I made your red, white and blue potato salad last year and it was a hit. Thanks Mary!

You’ve outdone yourself, there are so many wonderful details here! I have a white tree that I use for Valentine’s Day and Easter, why didn’t I ever think to decorate it for the 4th? I love your patriotic pails with their vintage graphics hanging on your tree, would you share where you found them? We enjoy a quiet celebration at home in the comfort of the a/c but I always get emotional when I see stories about our troops reunited with loved ones.

Mary, what a beautiful patriotic tree! It is stunning and a great way to add the red, white, and blue. Adding the nautical decor is perfect, especially those boats! Wishing you a fabulous weekend! Oops, I almost forgot…Gracie is the cutest dressed for 4th of July!

  9. June 22, 2018 at 7:24 am

What a beautiful tree and patriotic post! One my favorite July 4th traditions was attending our neighborhood parade when the kids were little. We always got a kick out of seeing the golf carts, riding lawn mowers and bikes decked out in their red, white and blue! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

  10. June 22, 2018 at 7:32 am

Mary, I can hear the sounds of the fireworks bursting in air! A most jubilant example of honoring our nation and service men and women. When I first saw your tree all I could say is WOW, let the celebration begin as the tree is truly a shining example of how we celebrate the many patriotic events in our country. I love the way you brought in your signature style with the boats! Hooray for the red, white and blue! Happy to be a part of this great Tree Classics campaign with you! Have a wonderful weekend!

God Bless America! We celebrate with family in thankfulness for our freedoms and the ones who serve to preserve those freedoms. Your décor ideas are beautiful and inspire me!

Mary, your porch is stunning with the tree and all of your patriotic decor! I love the view of the tree with the lake behind it. Gorgeous!

You and I could have gone shopping together. I have the same pillows on my porch. :)

  13. June 22, 2018 at 7:39 am

We will celebrate by taking part of our neighborhood’s Fourth of July parade at 10 a.m. It’s so much fun, each of the different regions has a float, plus the golf cart community is in full force as is the Jeep owners. Then it is a day for family: bbqs and picnics, water fun on the lake and then the best part: fireworks. You can see 360 degrees of fireworks as each group does a show, plus smaller shows put on by individual families. It is a sight to behold!

  15. June 22, 2018 at 8:05 am

What a lovely Patriotic tree and I love how you decorated it!! I have included a link to this post and the others who posted Patriotic trees on my post about my patriotic tree that i have been doing for about 5 years now!! I hope you will stop by!!

I salute you Mary on your beautiful tree!! I seen one earlier when this was first mentioned…now I can’t wait to see the remainder!! Our 4th is family, food & fun..I started several years ago collecting 4th of July memorabilia..I started picking up at Hobby Lobby, Michael’s, etc..a wooden flag I got at Hobby Lobby is one of my favs..I hang it on the front door..really, the Patriotic theme can remain all summer..with Memorial Day, Flag Day, the 4th, and then Labor Day, and Veterans Day.it’s not only patriotic to decorate for those days but fun!! I now have two storage boxes of Red, White & Blue and would love to add to those box’s..🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 Long may it wave!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

  17. June 22, 2018 at 8:07 am

Forgot to ask..I see a blue star with a white star center on the tree…would you share where you got that?? Thank you ⭐️⭐️⭐️

    • June 22, 2018 at 8:15 am

Hi Ellen, the metal stars were at Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago. All their patriotic decor is on sale. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Another gorgeous entry which reveals more of your creativeness. You definitely must have so much fun shopping for thematic items…this tree is outstanding! We can all enjoy ‘lake-living’ via your posts…many, many thanks, Mary…

  19. June 22, 2018 at 8:55 am

Loved seeing this – something a little bit out of the ordinary – and it is spectacular! What a fun way to celebrate Independence Day!! We have a fabulous fireworks display here at our lake – We will be having about 22 people here for the event. So lots of fun! Thanks for showing where you got all your details for this wonderful tree!

Oh my! The patriotic tree is just breathtaking! I always love to see what you do next. We will celebrate the 4th with our usual family grilling party with favors for all the grands. Firepit in the evening with some fireworks of our own. We can see other fireworks in nearby communities and we have a few favorite patriotic songs we play during the get together. Thank you for sharing Mary! Happy RED WHITE and BLUE!

  22. June 22, 2018 at 9:31 am

It looks beautiful Mary, and so perfect with your boats, life preservers and buoys! I am crazy about the bunting, and the vintage touches, and red ornaments. The best part of this post for me was all the beautiful words, especially Home of the Free because of the Brave! Thanks for sharing and waving flags proudly, makes me tear up with pride!

Your puppy is the bomb! So cute with the bow tie! I didn’t know you had a front porch, the beautiful tree you decorated looked great on it. I want to spend the 4th watching the petite American Flags I bought surrounding my flower beds wave and reflecting on past and present family that served our country, and prayers for all those I don’t know. You enjoy your day and pray for nice weather!

Just beautiful as always. We live at the lake also and the whole family dogs and all try to make it throughout the week, such a great way to celebrate our freedom and remember our service men and women.

  26. June 22, 2018 at 10:24 am

Mary, you think of everything! I enjoyed sitting in your rattan chairs on the porch checking out your Patriotic tree and viewing your lake. Great decorations. You find the neatest things.Love the nautical touches. You are a busy lady. I just lost a paragraph by hitting the keys too hard.
See you next week for Gardens Galore and Red,White and Blue Tablescape Blog Hop.

  33. June 22, 2018 at 1:52 pm

How super looking, Mary!! I left my own white flocked Christmas tree up in the great room this year, as I just didn’t have the will to take it downstairs. I had it full of Valentine ♥ in Feb. & green shamrocks in March. I have it done up in patriotic R/W&B now but mine doesn’t look anywhere near as pretty as yours!!! I will go check out the other bloggers shortly, but I love what you’ve done. I need to go shopping for more flag decor!!

  34. Marion
    June 22, 2018 at 1:54 pm

The tree and all decorations is so patriotic. The day will be spent probably having hamburgers and watching the N.Y Mets and the Macy’s fireworks show. I will be thankful for all my ancestors and relatives who have served for this country. HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY.
    Marion

  35. June 22, 2018 at 3:46 pm

Hooray for the red, white. and blue! I knew your tree would be festive and sparkly, Mary. It looks like the fireworks have begun. I have my Americana pillows out for the summer. I may need to stop by Target and see if any of the Sea to Shinning Sea pillows are still available. As for the 4th, I’ll attend the annual neighborhood parade, then we’ll have a quite day at home with hot dogs or hamburgers late afternoon. We’ll hear the city fireworks and concert off in the distance, but too large a crowd to go downtown to be part of the celebration. Too hot too!

I will be on the road moving my son from Phoenix to Seattle with the cat in his car. We will travel thru California so hopefully we can make time to stop and celebrate with some fireworks viewing. If I am lucky enough to win I will give the prize to my daughter Erin and son-in-law Major Brandon Bangsboll, U.S. Army stationed in Fort Eustis, Virginia. His posting 2 years ago was at Arlington. So proud of him and his willingness to serve.

  37. June 22, 2018 at 4:44 pm

Your room looks fabulous, of course. I would expect nothing less. I really like the scalloped banner (or whatever it is called). I am struggling to pull together something patriotic this year, probably because I seldom do a red, white, and blue table. I did find some Pottery Barn rewards dollars burning a hole in my pocket, so I’m hoping the napkins and placemats that I got, along with your post, will be enough to inspire me. Thanks for the blog visit and comment. As where you are, we stay hot well into November. Ugh!

  38. June 22, 2018 at 6:15 pm

You know I’m all about the decorated seasonal trees Mary! Love your RW&B tree, so pretty with the flags and paper fans. Gracie’s bow tie still has me chuckling. As for how I’ll spend the 4th… Grilling of course:@)

    June 22, 2018 at 10:16 pm

Good evening Mary- Your nautical themed patriotic tree is gorgeous! It is perfect for the summer as many people try to get to a lake, river, or beach to celebrate the 4th. I love all the various RW&B adornments and it being out on the screened in porch overlooking the lake is just the perfect display spot! I bet little Gracie “helped” with the decorations as she is a little doll in her patriotic bowtie. ❤️ We will finish up decorating the porch tomorrow by putting out the RW&B bunting. We will celebrate by grilling & chilling from work while remembering those who have made (& those who continue to make) our freedom possible. We will also enjoy fireworks in the evening. We hope you & your family have a wonderful, safe holiday! You did a super job acknowledging the importance of this holiday, honoring both our flag & our military & veterans while showing your pride in being an American which is very admirable. Thank you for sharing all your wonderful ideas in photos which takes devotion, patience and persistence! God bless America, our home sweet home! Clara 🇺🇸 ⛵ 🍉 🎆 🇺🇸

Awesome tree! Isn’t it fun decorating them with things red, white and blue and of course, our beautiful flag(s). I LOVE my seasonal tree. The boats and nautical items are a great touch! Beautiful tree Mary! We begin our celebration on the 3rd after the lawn is cut and the driveway edged with hubby lining our circular driveway and approach to the garage with 3 foot flags placed every 5 feet or so. It really makes a patriotic statement and great to see them waving in the wind. We have a traditional cookout with friends and / or family. Weather permitting, we have a bonfire and because I love sparklers, we usually have boxes to hand out and we all get silly writing our names in the air like we did as kids, lol. We enjoy the fireworks neighbors set off. Usually eat too much and stay up very late, until the embers are low, but love every minute of it! ♥️🇺🇸🍉

Your tree is beautiful! I have a tabletop tree that I decorate with red, white and blue stars and small flags, but you’ve given me ideas for some things to add. This year I will spend the 4th with friends who are having a BBQ to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.

Our city has quite a parade. In the evening the fireworks they have rival some of the best I’ve ever seen anywhere. A street fest is also an annual event with music, carnival rides and food stands. I have the day off this year, first time in a long time, so I plan on enjoying all of this.

Never in a million years did I think that I wanted a Christmas tree decorated for the 4th of July, BUT you have made me a convert!! The 4th of July is HUGE in Coronado, we are a Navy town (half of the island is a naval base) so it is a spectacular patriotic extravaganza. The day starts at 4 am, yes you heard that right, that is when my husband loads up the wagon with the chairs, the pop up, blankets and paraphernalia to grab our spot on the parade route (the same one we’ve had for 40+ years), the entire family (everyone in Coronado comes home for the 4th) watches the parade together and has a light breakfast. We have lunch at the in-laws, always gazpacho, then watch the Seal Team demo on the bay. Quick nap, then a bbq, concert and fireworks on the bay. I think the 4th is probably one of my favorite days of the year! Hoping you and your family have a memorable day :)

  48. June 24, 2018 at 4:17 pm

Brilliant fun! Great to see new angles of your house to with the flags in the background. When I first saw your tree made me think of Debbie Reynolds, just read she kept a fully decorated Christmas tree up year round, you scooped her with another holiday fun! Fabulous pics as always.

We just celebrated with my son early since he serves our country now He smoked BBQ pork here at our home while we enjoyed the grandchildren beside the pool. They are are their way to their next assignment. We are so very proud of him, and he has a very supportive wife.
Mary, thank you for making this such a priority. We often take for granted our freedom, and it often comes with a heavy price to all who serve. God Bless them ALL, and thank you to all who now serve and have served in the past.

Thank you for your inspiring post for July 4th! We will be with family for a cook out on Lake Wateree in SC and maybe a boat ride too!

I would alternate the ornaments and party lights on a line to make a festive banner.

I’ll be hanging buntings and decorations on the front porch, grilling up some meat, eating watermelon, & key lime pie w/whipped cream, and taking a ride in the Vette! 😃🇺🇸🥩🍉🏎️

My husband and I live in a Senior Complex. We all love to celebrate the holidays. This July 4ht. we will have a cook-out for 20-27 people that my husband will do the grilling for. On the menu will be grilled hamburgers ,brats and corn on the cob. Two other ladies and I will make potato salad, special baked beans ,red, white and blue delved eggs, and cucumbers and onion. Can’t forget dessert. That will be drumstick ice cream cones. It will be a fun time and we all do love to eat !!AS, for decorations I am sure they would find there way into some sort of festive arrangement ! Happy 4th !!

After I originally commented I clicked the -Notify me when new feedback are added- checkbox and now every time a remark is added I get four emails with the same comment. Is there any approach you possibly can remove me from that service? Thanks!

Hi Ailene, There should be a link at the bottom of your email notification that says something like “Want less email? Modify your email notification settings.” Click on that link to remove yourself.

Thank you for all your Patriotic Posts! I love them all :) I have two grandsons serving in the Marines and Air Force and am so proud of them. One grand daughter just got out of the Air Force and is now in Nursing School. They were all happy to serve their country. God Bless you!
