Our common theme for this edition of Monday Morning Blooms
is ‘Easter,’ which is early, falling on March 31st this year.
Time to get hopping and pull out the bunnies and eggs in preparation!
🐰 🐣 🐇
A bunny floral cutwork embroidered table runner hopped in my cart while shopping
at HomeGoods a couple of weeks ago. It’s layered over a pastel egg tablecloth
for an Easter bunny-themed table.
Assorted white bunny dishes sit atop Mikasa Endearment plates,
with pastel sprays of flowers of mini blooms at the table.
Fortessa Debutante Glass Goblets
offer additional blooms with an embossed floral design
in the pressed glassware.
Oneida Community Evening Star (1950-1961) provides more blooms
at the table and was a favorite antique mall find several years ago. . .
The 95 piece set of vintage flatware was a bargain price at what
the 14 knives alone would have cost at Replacements. . .
The floral equivalent of paying for a single rose
and receiving 2 dozen long-stemmed ones instead. :)
I cut some Daffodils that are blooming to join tulips from the grocery store and
to fill a favorite pair of bunny cabbage vases for a
celebration of spring bulbs and blooms!
Tip: Daffodils secrete a sap that can shorten the vase life of other flowers.
To use Daffodils in a vase with other flowers, cut them and put them in a vase by themselves
for several hours or up to overnight.
I typically change the water a few times and when I see the water is no longer cloudy,
I know the stems have secreted their sap
and they’re ready to add to other flowers in a mixed bouquet.
Just be sure not to recut the stems again.
Napkins are folded to mimic a bunny. . .
a festive and easy way to elevate your table for spring or Easter!
And a bunny tail is provided by a mini carnation,
tucked in the back in the fold!
🐇 🐇 🐇 🐇
If you’re not familiar with this napkin fold, here is a graphic with the easy steps.
This napkin fold that works best if you press your folds with an iron along the way.
Here are the steps:
1. Start with a square napkin, right side facing up and pressing with an iron to remove any wrinkles.
2. Fold your napkin in half with the fold at the bottom and opening at the top
3. Fold up from the bottom again until you have a narrow rectangle. Press your folds with an iron so your rectangle of fabric is crisp.
4. Fold one edge of your napkin over to the other edge to find the middle for reference, then fold the right corner of your napkin up at a right angle.
5. Repeat with the left side of your napkin up to meet in the center; adjust sides if needed so you have a point at the bottom and your top edges line up together; press with your iron.
6. Fold the right corner down to the center.
7. Fold the left corner down to meet in the center; your napkin should resemble a square; press your folds.
8. Take the right corner and fold it toward the center line to begin creating the bunny ears.
9. Repeat with the left napkin corner; press folds with your iron.
10. Flip your napkin over.
11. Fold the bottom triangle of the napkin up to meet the center fold; press with your iron.
13. Turn the napkin over again and tuck the right bottom corner into the small triangular pocket on the left side. Tuck in a mini carnation or pom pom in the back for a bunny tail if desired.
A Cookies ‘n Creme Chocolate Bunny from Dollar Tree
provides a sweet treat at each placesetting.
I used a triple star piping tip to pipe tinted frosting “grass”.
A stripe of frosting on the anchors the bunny so it stands upright.
More sweet treats and an assortment of candy eggs are hiding in the grass by the bunny on the plate.

Good morning, Mary! The bunny floral cutwork embroidered table runner is so pretty, oh if only I had a HG’s closer than a 60 mile drive. I love the sweet Mikasa Endearment plates with the assorted bunny dishes sitting on top. Daffodils and tulips are the perfect spring flowers for your bunny cabbage vases…they tell me spring is on the way! The bunny fold napkins with their mini carnation tails are so cute and fun. Adding the piped tinted frosting for the Cookies ‘n Crème bunny is an adorable. I can’t let RM know that there are cookies’n creme bunnies available 🐰 he would be hiding a stash.
It is always a pleasure to join you for flower therapy. We have rain in the forecast every day this week! Happy Monday 🌷🐰🌼💚
Love love love the cheerful blooms and bunny plates. Hard to believe Easter is at the end of the month !! I’ll be practicing the bunny napkin fold! Thank you
Absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for the inspiration and bunny napkin instructions!
Good morning Mary, what a lovely table starting with the bunny cut out embroidered table runner. It would have hopped into my cart too😁 such a delightful table. The flowers looks so pretty and perfect for spring. Ours have bloomed as well. The bunny treats look darling, great tip with the frosting to hold the bunny up. Love the bunny folded napkins, especially with the carnation cottontail. Easter falls on the day before my birthday this year. Happy Monday 🩷
Good morning, Mary! The embroidered table runner you found at HomeGoods is so pretty and provides such a lovely anchor for your Easter table. Your florals of tulips and daffodils are beautiful in the sweet bunny vases. Thanks for sharing the tips on using daffodils in arrangements. I learned something this morning. The bunny napkin folds are precious, and I adore how you piped edible Easter grass for the chocolate bunny to sit on. That is such a fun and special touch! I hope you have a wonderful day!
Oh Mary, I can see why that bunny table runner hopped into your cart, it is adorable! The daffodils and tulips look so pretty together, and what a wonderful tip about their secretions. Mary, That is a gorgeous bunny runner! Your tulips and daffodils are lovely in the bunny vases. I love the way you styled the cookies and cream bunny. What a cute idea! Thanks for the bunny fold tutorial; that’s a really nice fold, especially with the mini carnation tail. Happy Monday! Clara❤️
Thank you for the great tip about daffodils. I never knew they didn’t like to mingle. The table runner is hard to resist. My bank account could not handle frequent trips to HomeGoods so I live for your beautiful photos.
Mary, Pam, Sarah, and Lidy, You’ve all made my Monday morning! I love the bunnies (the napkin folding–hooray!), the yummy treats, the daffodils (the tips!), and the exquisite flatware! All of the pastels, the tablecloths, and daintiness (and goodness) of Easter are represented! Beautiful! I wish I could decorate like all of you ladies!
Good morning Mary! What a gorgeous table, I love your runner. Thank you for bringing a very Easter smile to my heart this morning with your gorgeous setting. Your daffodils and tulips are so lovely nestled in the bunny vases, charming! Thank you too, for the bunny napkin fold instructions- what a sweet addition to any Easter and spring table. As usual, it’s a blessing to join you, Pam and our friend Sarah for our Monday Morning Blooms today! Xo Lidy
Mary, I had a busy day yesterday, so slept in a tad this morning. What a beautiful post to wake up to as I sip my morning coffee. I’m envious of your sunny daffodils. Thanks for the tip on how to fix the issue of using them with other blooms. I’ve made a note and will follow through if I can find some daffodils to bring home. The flower field table runner reminds me of the wildflowers blanketing the fields every spring for the Round Top Antique Market. Honestly, Texas’ wildflower season has been a favorite since my childhood. Thank you, Lady Bird Johnson, for having the wisdom and generosity to create this kind of beauty along our roadsides.
I’m speechless when it comes to your wonderful silver flatware find. Wow! The glassware too. Those white cabbage plates w/ bunnies are certainly a charming touch atop the Mikasa Endearment plates. I have the white bunny containers, so you’ve inspired me to pull them out and fill them with flowers this week. And I’m going to try my hand at the cute napkin fold. Adorable idea to give each a carnation bunny tail!
Thank you for including me this month. It’s always an honor, and seriously, your invitation spurs me to jump back into some creative time for which I’m most grateful. I need a nudge these days!
Happy springtime as we all march toward Easter weekend.
Mary, each of your posts are so filled with easy tips and beautiful photos! I spend my morning looking and shopping and enjoying your easter recipes and tables.
I’m so happy to learn how to do the bunny napkin fold. It’s so sweet!
Many thanks!!
The embroidered runner is beautiful and reminded me that I have a very similar one! I just took pictures of my first Easter table, I will be changing to some others probably each week. Thanks for the clue about daffodils, I didn’t know that. I wish some of our garden places had some pansies, I am itching to plant some. Have a BEAUTIFUL week, Mary.
All springtime fresh. The bunny table runner is beyond adorable
So sweet Mary, just love the table scape. Cute idea on the white chocolate bunny and icing on the plate! I so enjoy your posts, thank you.
Smiles, Sue
Hi Mary ~ Another yucky rainy day here in NW Connecticut. No beautiful daffodils or green grass yet, and with Easter being early this year, im doubting Incan even serve appys on our deck for our Easter brunch, but I still hold out some hope. I will echo all your other readers about the bunny table runner from Homegoods. I’m going to have to take a peek in our local one and see if I can find one to hop in my cart 🐰🐰🐰 Hugs, Dorinda
The table runner is absolutely adorable! It made me start singing here comes Peter Cottontail hopping down the bunny trail. You find such darling things. I look forward to Monday Morning Blooms every month. Thank you.
Oh Mary, this springtime table made my heart sing! The bunny runner is so pretty atop your tablecloth and your Endearment plates are so dainty. I like your idea of piping some icing grass to prop the chocolate bunny. Of course your blooms are the perfect springtime arrangement. 🌼 🐰 💕
Wonderful post. I was pinning away saving all your great tips. Thanks for the reminder about preparing daffodils before adding to a mixed flower arrangement. Love the darling bunny napkin fold with the cute carnation tail! I remember your cabbage bunny vase and it is perfect for your arrangement. I also loved how you used a candy bunny with piped icing as grass to anchor it on the plate surrounded by cute candy eggs. The festive tablecloth and runner was a great find. Have a great Easter. Bonnie
Such beautiful dishes and love that flatware! How sweet the special piping / grass to hold the bunny upright, you think of everything! Love all of your flare! Just the absolute best Mary!! Hope you saw my email in your post a few days ago about the “Miss Potter” movie I viewed on Amazon Prime. I plan on watching it again, it’s just really a great movie! Thanks Mary!
Mary, your table is so pretty and just speaks to spring and Easter. The table runner was a fabulous find and the bunny ears napkin fold with the carnation cotton tail is adorable. Great tip about the daffodils – I did not know that so thank you. And ohmygosh, the bunny in the icing grass is so creative. The vintage flatware and the Mikasa Endearment dishes are both so beautiful. Thank you as always for sharing your wonderful inspiration and creativity
Such a pretty table and florals for both spring and Easter, Mary! I don’t usually go with pastels, but this is so appealing. That runner is adorable. Your daffodils and tulips are most assuredly first signs of spring, so pretty together. Daffodils make me so happy, and even more so this year. I had random bunches throughout my landscape last year, and after digging up and replanting more en masse, they are blooming and just make me smile. Love how you did the little chocolate bunnies and ‘grass’ with eggs. That Oneida Community silverplate service is beautiful!
I’m off to homegoods to look for the adorable bunny runner. Just so cute!
Very sweet, thanks for sharing trade secrets 😉
Mary you never fail to present a lovely tablescape and post.
Happy ST.Patrick’s Day
Happy Spring
Happy Easter
Marilyn,Joan and Marion
Thanks for sharing your buny napkin fold and your Easter table. Looks like I need to go hunting for some missing napkins! Your plaid ones reminded me!
