I’m joining Kathleen at Faded Charm for White Wednesday. I thought I’d share a small collection of chalkware dogs that I have that normally guard my books in my bookcase.
These chalkware dog figures don’t have any significance to me, other than I love dogs and I’ve always been drawn to the patina of worn, paint-chipped and time-faded surfaces.
You can read more about Chalkware here.
This particular dog, is almost white, due to the porous nature of the plaster surface, which causes the paint to flake off.
Of course, I’m partial to white dogs.
Stop by Faded Charm & enjoy your White Wednesday.
I love your dogs, I just posted my chalkware dog for white wed. too!
How funny.

such a cute post… do you know i love your blog? you are just so good at it ALL!
i love petfinders.com, all 3 of my dogs came from there, its wonderful seeing you support them on your sidebar. when my dog tucker died last june, that very afternoon while sobbing hysterically over him i picked out maggie and cassie… i was so grateful to have a place to look while i was swollen and puffy from crying, i knew i needed new dogs and that they needed me just as much. jasper was our bonus dog, he is cassies sister and had parvo, i didn’t want to leave him behind so we added him into the pack the day we went to meet them all. long live petfinders.com!
These are just beautiful!
absolutely delightful I just love your doggie collection… especially those last two! I have a little white cockapoo with peach spots. Happy, Happy Easter Whites to you…
Great collection of chalkware dogs, but who could resist those two loveable fluffy guys. Very cute! Thanks for playing along today.
Happy WW!
Kathleen
What a lovely post about your wonderful collection. Since I’m “owned” by 5 dogs, I found this very enjoyable.
