Celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with patriotic table decorating ideas, red, white and blue inspiration, vintage flags, flowers, and Fourth of July entertaining.

Happy July!
There’s something timeless about decorating in red, white, and blue!
Whether it’s a festive table, fresh flowers gathered in a pitcher, fluttering American flags,
or simple touches of patriotic charm, these classic colors never go out of style.

The U.S. flag has gone through an evolution of 26 changes before it became the iconic symbol of today,
proudly flying with 13 stripes and 50 stars, to represent the original 13 colonies and all 50 states.
The official colors of the American flag as defined by the Color Association of the U.S. are “white,”
“Old Glory Red,” and “Old Glory Blue.” The red symbolizes hardiness and valor,
white symbolizes purity and innocence, and blue represents vigilance, perseverance and justice.
The blue field of stars should always be in the highest position of honor.
When viewing the flag on a wall, the highest position of honor is the upper left
when displayed horizontally, and at the top upper left when displayed vertically.
As we celebrate Independence Day this year, the occasion feels even more meaningful
as our nation marks America’s 250th anniversary . . .
a milestone that invites us to reflect on our history while celebrating the traditions
that bring family and friends together.

Across the country, communities are commemorating this historic anniversary with parades,
fireworks, neighborhood gatherings, and patriotic displays that honor 250 years of American independence.
One of my favorite ways to celebrate is around the table:
13 Patriotic Tables & Centerpieces to Celebrate the Red, White & Blue
It doesn’t have to be elaborate. . .just welcoming! A bouquet of summer flowers,
a stack of favorite dishes, vintage flags tucked into an arrangement,
and plenty of red, white, and blue create a setting that feels festive and relaxed.
Today’s post is a favorite from the archives that has become one of my go-to inspirations each July.
If you’re a regular visitor, you may remember some of these patriotic posts with the mix of stars,
stripes, and summertime charm. If you’re new here, I hope it inspires your own Independence Day celebration.

Whether you’re hosting a backyard barbecue, enjoying dinner on the porch,
gathering with family at the lake, or simply watching fireworks with neighbors,
I hope your holiday is filled with gratitude for the freedoms we enjoy and appreciation
for those who have served and sacrificed to preserve them.

Tiny battery operated lights make a beautiful glow at night
Love, love, love every picture! Just made two American flag pillows yesterday, but love your pineapple quilt pillow! Happy fourth!
Love this red, white, and blue tribute to celebrate our country’s 250th! Have a happy 4th of July.
I loved every bit of this patriotic post! Would you be able to share where you found the adorable red, white and blue puppy placemat (or table square)?
Thank you Anne! It’s a dish towel I found at HomeGoods. 🐾
Thank you Mary!
So pretty Mary…your posts are always so full of inspiration and using something unusual for great effects. Happy 4th of July and I am definitely proud to be an American and celebrating our country’s 250th is awesome. As a fellow collector, I am always amazed at your collections and where you keep them so handy to get to. I have to admit that I have storage everywhere and sometimes don’t get something out because I can’t readily “get to it” or I don’t have the energy….or I forgot I have it. 🥰 Do you ever have those issues? Have a wonderful time at your beautiful lake.🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️🤍💙🇺🇸🇺🇸
HAPPY INDEPENDENCE 250th BIRTHDAY TO YOU AND EVERYONE!!! I’m thankful to be living in a GREAT FREE COUNTRY!!!! GOD BLESS THE USA!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Mary, there is so much beautiful inspiration of the red, white, and blue in this post! I don’t remember your patriotic tree on the porch, it is very festive. We have much to be grateful for in our country. Long may our beautiful flag wave over the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave. Wishing you a lovely 4th celebration!
Happy 250th birthday America🇺🇸❤️🤍💙🇺🇸
Mary, I’m going to have a quiet afternoon with a cup of tea and sit and enjoy looking through your post from today. So many ideas, recipes, and tips. It’s like a volume of holiday ideas in one spot!
Thank you for sharing! Happy July and happy 4th!!
Love every single classy picture and post it relates to! So proud to be a free American, amd I’m looking forward our own state’s celebration which starts tomorrow. We have a ferris wheel also, 230 feet high! Lots of food and craft vendors, Capitol building tours, exhibits, fireworks and concerts free to the public. And it’s all right across the river, so much of it we’ll see and hear without going to the crowds!
PS I saw a thing on the news tonight of our forefathers’ ages when they signed the Declaration of Independence: GW 44, TJ 33, James Madiosn 25, Alexander Hamilton 21, and Benjamin Franklin 70. Imagine that!
Happy 250th 4th, Mary!
Mary, I love all the red, white and blue items displayed. The white decorated tree is gorgeous! I did a small tree this year with patriotic and beach ornaments. We wish you a happy and safe 4th. With this searing heat, we hope you can enjoy a lake ride in the boat. Take care and stay cool! Clara❤️
Oh Mary, you always inspire me with your posts and this one has so many creative ways to celebrate our 250th celebration. Lola and Sophie always make me smile! May you have a wonderful and special 4th of July.
