Happy HalloWine and Candy Pairing Tablescape

Halloween is next week~ the perfect time (or excuse ;) to celebrate with a Hallowine and Halloween candy pairing!

I scared up some spooky bottles of Hallowine at World Market and Trader Joe’s.

And found this handy Halloween candy and wine pairing chart last year from Vivino.

Since it’s all about the candy on Halloween, the centerpiece for our table starts with some quintessential candy corn.

I used my favorite ‘vase within a vase’ method to create the centerpiece. Start with two vases, a smaller one to nest inside a larger one. Fill the walls between the vases with candy corn then place your flower stems in water in the inner vase.

Note: Take care when adding your water to the vase, so it doesn’t spill and come in contact with the candy corn which will cause it to dissolve, resulting in a scary mess.

I added a row of Mellowcreme pumpkins around the top edge of the candy vase and a combination of alstroemeria and mums from the grocery store for the centerpiece. . .

Halloween lollies were added to top decorative straws. . .

And slide over 12-inch bamboo skewers placed in the arrangement for a some sweet and spooky fun and candy bouquet!

Haunted house luminaries were scared up from the Dollar Spot at Target to hold candy for the table. . .

Beware the black cats and spooky bats!

Trick or Treat Creepy Crackers make a fun party favor for each placesetting, each containing a spider ring or eyeball, hat and a joke, buried inside. . .

A Smiling Skellie. . .

Spooky Bats. . .

Scary Spider. . .

And Ghostly Apparition. . .Boo!

DSC_0095.1-001

A spider web runner is layered over a festive pumpkin tablecloth. . .

And Courtly Stripe pumpkins hold a duo of napkins, black and orange stripe paired with black spider web.

Black metal pails offer candy at each placesetting.

Help yourself to some candy corn or Mellocreme Pumpkins, a perfect pairing with a wicked chardonnay, sparkling wine or reisling. . .

Or Reese’s peanut butter pumpkins to pair with a Fright Night Cellars Red Blend.

Mary, My BFF has been a long time fan of candy corn and chardonnay! I’ll have to look for the Hob Nob Wicked Chardonnay, she’d get a kick out of it. As always, your tables overflow with creativity and imagination and your photography is top notch!

I am cackling with glee and turning witchy green with jealousy at just how creative and darling this table is! The stemless wines on cupcake pedestals, the striped plates and the Courtly napkin rings are all super starters, but the rest of the details layered on make me want to ride my broom right over to my local retail and pick up a few things. Seriously, spooktacular!

Your table makes me smile like a kid who just dumped out their pillow case full of candy after a long night of trick or treating!! Thanks for taking me back there!
