Thank you for all your visits, comments, shares and Pins in 2018. I’m still surprised and humbled you find the time to visit my little blog and Potting Shed!
We built my Potting Shed in 2012, before I’d ever heard of the concept or term, ‘She Shed’.
While I don’t actually do any ‘potting’ inside my shed, it is a place where my creativity blooms.
I’m sharing some flower therapy on a cold January day and look back at 2018, where I played, planted and puttered around the Potting Shed. Click on the links below if you’d like to see the complete post for more details and / or sources.
The forecast is always favorable for tabletop gardening, even when the weather is not! A Richard Smith & Co. seed catalog cover watering can is filled with spring flowers and veggies.
Love every thing you DO! Thanks for being in my email daily and inspiring me to garden/decorate.
PLEASE take a teaching moment and assist me in finding the Le Jardin Botanique and Bunnies! I know nothing about thm, but several times a year you tease me with them in the potting shed. HELP!!!!! I would appreciate nay help. Thank you!
Hi Mary.. I swoon over your Potting Shed Blogs.. please keep them coming.. my GrandJoy boys ages 5 and 4 are coming for the weekend and we are going to attempt your Suet Cookie Cutters.. they love the many bird feeders out our windows so I think they will really have fun and I hope to teach them why birds need the suet! Thank you for the inspiration !
Mary, Thank you so much for all this beautiful flower therapy on a cold winter day! So much to see and drool over. I’m ready to sit down with some garden catalogs and start my spring planning!
This is such a joyful post, seeing the entire year in review. Your garden certainly deserves its own post (oh, and the dishes, arrangements in the shed just make it that much better!). January is my favorite month to look over all the gardening hits and misses of the prior year, thinking about the year to come.
What a delicious way to start my day. Thank you Mary. Relatively new to your blog and here you’ve visually caught me up to date. 2018 in your garden. Delicious. You have a great deal to do with my getting a dog. She is a Havanese. White, fluffy and such a joy. A close cousin to your little white fluffis. New to that world too, and had no idea about puppies. A work out to be sure.
Mary, It’s always a gold star day when you post to the blog! Over the years I am been a quiet admirer of your endless artistry, creativity and roll out of fresh ideas. Your eye for color and balance are breath taking! You’re notably, and especially, my Table Scape and Flower Arranger Queen! Thank you for sharing your inspiration and keep boating!
There must be some special magic in your potting shed that inspires your creativity. Certainly, much has come from there that excites and pleases your readers.
Thanks for letting us play along with you in and around your potting shed, dear Mary! It’s always a joy to visit you for inspiration. Happy weekend to you. 😘
Awww, heaven! What a great way to spend the morning looking back on the inspirational garden shed and lovely posts, with a cup of tea and a slice of zucchini bread! You spoil us and we love it! Can’t wait to see what you roll out this year, Mary! ♥️
Love it all, esp. the bee info, the potting shed delightful decor inside & out (how could someone steal/photoshop that?) and of course, the bell jars. Now that I have you. . . I don’t need to check out all those garden books from the library in January to feast my eyes. Thank you. Most blogs have more and more advertising and pop-ups. . . .it does not look like you do that. ..so you don’t use this as a money maker?
What a gorgeous review around your potting shed! You provide so much beautiful eye candy on this cold but sunny Friday! Stay warm and cozy this weekend!
Thanks so much for your inspiration and for lifting my spirits each day. I am a caregiver for my sister who has Parkinson’s and your blog and the fun and beauty that you share are my peace in he storm. You will never know how much you have helped me. Thank you again.
Am lovin’ this entry, too, Mary…I also enjoy reading others comments…they are the same voice as mine, praising your creativity and attention to detail. Many, many thanks for your posts. 2019 is going to be a wonderful year, beginning with you as a bright spot in each day.
Still lovin’ that slinky hack Mary! Looks like we might miss the snow and sleet? Still hoping to see a little during the Chiefs game though (from my nice warm livingroom). Happy Weekend:@)
Can you imagine your life without your potting shed Mary?? It brings so much joy not only to you but to all your readers! Fingers crossed you don’t have any icy problems this weekend!

I stumbled upon your blog after seeing the chain of watering cans on Hometalk. After that, I was absolutely hooked. Your style is like taking everything I ever dreamed of and making it come true! If you had a book, I’d have it on my coffee table. I notice new things all the time too in your vignettes. Today I am noticing and loving the little benches you have, especially that small green one. Green is my favorite color and I am a complete idiot for benches! I see them, I love them! I’m green with envy over that one.
Anyway, I look forward to seeing everything you do in 2019!
Your blog is my favorite!! So beautiful and fun. Would love to see a panoramic picture of your garden. I am becoming addicted to pretty dishes and table settings because of you! Would also love to see/know how you store all these beautiful things. Thanks for the beauty you add to this world.
I am swooning over every single picture! Soooooo beautiful Mary!
I have told you before…it was your Potting Shed posts… back in 2012…that made me want a Shed! No one ever heard of She Sheds back then. It was YOU and maybe a few inspirational ones from magazines that started my desire to have one.
Play it forward a few years… and now I have one. I do not do potting of plants but I do mix my fertilizer in it! And putter… and make pretty tablescapes. But you always are my inspiration!
GM Mary! A great pick me up on a cold winter day!! Love to look back on the gardening done in the past year.
Your garden is beautiful!

Love the photos. That is the most famous shelf (in the shed) in the USA. Such a talent.
