No matter who your pulling for in the big game, this easy Football Snack Board is a winner for Super Bowl Snacking, your next tailgate or to kick off football season.
Happy Friday! Are you ready for some football? It’s a coin toss as to who we’re pulling for this year, but we’re always up for some snacking and commercials on Super Bowl Sunday.
A Football Snack Board is easy to pull together, customizing it with your favorite snacks, without cooking and minimal prep and assembly.
To create this board, I started with a round wood tray, but you can use a rectangular-shaped board or tray. I found my wood tray with handles at World Market last fall for my Thanksgiving Turkey Dessert Board, which is still available. The edge of the tray keeps all your snacks contained and from crossing the line of scrimmage, 🏈 and spilling off the edges when serving.
I used a combination of brown and green colored snacks, arranging the brown snacks in the shape of a football, surrounding it with green snacks for the field. I used a combination of sweet and salty snacks from the grocery store. . . pretzels, candy corn footballs, M&M’s, almonds, wasabi peas, dried kiwi slices, shelled pistachios, spinach-Parmesan crisps, Harvest Snaps, Ritz crackers and honey roasted sesame sticks.
I found Utz Football-Shaped Pretzels at World Market and Brach’s Football Candy Corn at Walmart, both of which I picked up this fall. No holding penalty for these as they’re still within their ‘best if used by’ dates of March and July. 🏈
For easy assembly, I made a football-shaped template out of wax paper as a guide to arrange the snacks.
Dried coconut strips make the laces of the football, or you could cut some string cheese to form them.
Make your Football Snack Board out of veggies, fruit, cheese, chips, cured meats or whatever floats your boat! I found the football snack cups, party picks and napkins at Party City, but have seen some at Target this week.

Who are you pulling for in the Super Bowl?
Mary, I have a beautiful tray that I’ve considered using for trays like this but I worry that the wood will become discolored from the oils of the food. Especially with a charcuterie tray. Have you experienced that? Should I just cover the bottom and sides with plastic wrap or parchment? Would love to know your thought! Thanks!
Hi Debbie, A layer plastic wrap or parchment will protect your board or tray if you’re worried. I have a wood board that I’ve had for years and use regularly and condition it occasionally with a food grade mineral oil that helps protect the surface. There’s a helpful article on maintaining and cleaning a wood board here: https://www.cuttingboard.com/how-to-oil-and-maintain-a-cutting-board/ 🏈❤️
Thanks so much Mary!
Always so clever, you are! That looks amazing.
Mary, the football snack board is Super Bowl perfect and creative. I am more of a college football fan than I am a pro fan. I do enjoy seeing a few of the commercials. Happy Friday!
Thank you Pam, Happy Weekend❣️🏈
I like that a lot! Easy, no keeping anything warm, no cooking, healthy!! Great idea!! Thank you Mary!
Thank you Ellen, Happy Weekend ❤️🏈
Great idea Mary! Love your tray. Clara ♥️
Thank you Clara ❤️🏈
What a creative snack tray, Mary! I’m sure your guests will happily be munching away during the game! 🏈 🥘 🏈
Thank you Kitty, Happy Weekend❣️
Mary, your creativity never ends! Another win for the football fans! I read above about the care of a wooden board. We have several wooden items, and like you, with a little care they have look better with time and beautiful patina. I’ve also used cheese leaves, which are made of a very thin paper, to layer under things.
Thank you Sarah, Happy Weekend to you, The Chef, and Sadie 🐾🍽🏈❤️
So cute Mary, and easy on the chef, just open some bags :) As they say, presentation is everything! You made a touchdown with this for sure!! We are going to have a pork fest on the patio with friends, a fire and a couple of patio heaters! I need to find those football pretzels so cute! So smart to use the coconut strips for the laces, adorable! 🏈
Go Chiefs!
Jenna
Thank you Jenna, I want to come to your house to watch the game❣️🐖🏈🔥
I wish you could!!

Thank you Donna 🏈❤️
I love your munchies in the wood tray. Great assortment.
GO CHIEFS !!!!!!!!
Wow, there’s a lot of different food in there! Was this dried kiwi I saw? I like the paper napkins and other themed accessories. Well, hope you had a lovely time!
Everything looks so good. You scored big for this event Mary, touchdown for sure! I am going to look up your recipe for those sweet and sticky chicken wings in the slow cooker, they are making my mouth water. Thanks Mary. May the best team win! 🏈
Very cute Mary, that’s my kind of noshing! I think it will be a fun game, not really pulling for a specific team… But I wouldn’t mind seeing my block pool win!!! Enjoy the game:@)
This is fabulous! You always amaze me with your fabulous ideas and how you present them!
The football tray is the best….I hate to be the first one to “dig in” to “deflate” the football tray…what a great idea using the template. I am always in awe of your creative game day snacks and treats! Hoping for the Chiefs to win since they haven’t been in the Super Bowl since Super Bowl IV…
Yum! I remember we enjoyed munchies while enjoying The Big Game. Anyways, that’s a nice and creative snack tray!
