Happy Monday!
Welcome to the 11th Annual Black Hat Society meeting, all good witches are welcome! <|;>)

Find a spot to park your broom . . .

And pick your mug for your witches brew. . .

Beware the candy corn. . . it’s available in lethal quantities this time of year!

There are plenty of candy treats at our table to fuel your midnight ride on October 31st. . .🧹

This witch is fueled by chocolate!
Festive foil-wrapped chocolates. . . Jack-o’-lanterns, ghosts, skellies and pumpkins,
join twists pops, witch lollies and loads of candy corn.

It was a little shopping serendipity rather than black magic that conjured this set of four plates
from HomeGoods, a short broom ride away.

I cackled with glee when I realized the peach and aqua plates matched a favorite plaid tablecloth,
recently used to Welcome Fall.

A black table runner provides polka dots and a festive layer to marry black and white checks,
with the iconic Halloween black cats, bats, witch hats, ghosts and pumpkins on the salad plates.

DIY Jack-o’-lantern Napkin Rings are a fun and easy craft project
to dress up your napkins and table for Halloween.
You can use the same budget-friendly method and spell 🪄
to customize napkin rings for your table for any season or holiday!

Dish towels are masquerading as napkins, generously sized and handy
for mopping up those messy cauldron spills.

Bottle brush trees in the traditional Halloween color palette of orange, black and white
add a little nostalgic charm to the table. . .

And a Candy Boo-quet provides a centerpiece for our table.

This Candy Boo-quet is easy to scare up and makes a festive centerpiece
for your table or to share with trick or treaters!

I used orange and black twist and swirl pops and Jack-o’-lantern lollies,
but you could “skewer” miniature candy bars or Halloween Peeps.

In addition to your candy, you’ll need some bamboo skewers,
Halloween straws, a block of craft floral foam (or packing peanuts) and paper shred.

Place your foam in a bowl, vase or pitcher to hold your skewers.
Arrange your skewers in the foam at varying heights or whatever looks good to you.

If you’re using lollipops, you’ll need to shorten your skewers as the stick
will take up part of the length of your straw.
Slide your straws over your skewers and top with paper shred to hide your floral foam.

Wishing you lots of spooky fun and sweet treats on Halloween!

On a serious note:
Thank you for your emails and concerns about our safely after Hurricane Helene. We had 7 inches of rain, unlike areas of the NC mountains that received upwards of 20 inches. The Blue Ridge Mountains are a favorite weekend getaway so the devastation and historic flooding in western North Carolina and in Tennessee is especially heartbreaking. The conditions and images are surreal and it will be a long time before roads are even passable, much less communities restored. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who lost family members and their homes and businesses due to Helene. 🙏
Update 10/1: I had a couple of emails and comments regarding where to donate to help with the disaster relief from Hurricane Helene.
Samaritan’s Purse is responding in five locations after Hurricane Helene left a 500-mile trail of devastation from the Gulf Coast of Florida to the mountains of western North Carolina.

Good morning, Mary. First, I am glad to hear you have no damage to report. I touched base with my friend who lives on the lake, and she reported the same. This 1,000 year flood in TN, NC will certainly take years to recover from, but based on WV’s epic flood of 2016, my faith is in the people who will rise to the needs as soon as they are able to get there.
This table and the super cute plates to match the tablecloth was true serendipity to find! I love the way the black runner grounds it all, and then all your adorable accessorizing elements and how they trick it out.
Congrats to all your winners. Those lucky witches! 🧙♀️🧹🧡
Congratulations to the winners!
Good to know the weather didn’t impact you and your family.
Mary, So glad your family and home are okay from Helene! We have no damage here in NW Ga either. So sorry for those who have damage to homes and especially anyone hurt during the storm.

Mary…so glad to hear you are safe with no damage. It is hard to imagine what folks are enduring but we are a strong nation and I know we will support our fellow man. Thanks for the Halloween surprise….waiting anxiously for tomorrow mail! Your contests and prizes are always a lot of fun. I bought two Halloween place settings at Home Goods recently and starting today they will be in use!
Peace.
I am so happy to see you posting this morning. I was on the phone multiple times with my sister, who lives on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Thank goodness she and her husband were spared from Hurricane Helene. They are still dealing with problems from Hurricane Ian.
I am praying for everyone who this horrible hurricane has impacted.
Your post today brought me some cheer and inspiration. I love the plates and matching tablecloth!
Happy October tomorrow!

On a happy note, your new plates look so pretty on your tablecloth and the napkin rings are darling. Congratulations to all the winners that will be so happy to receive a package in the mail through your generosity and kindness. 🧡
Good to know you were not damaged by Helene. We are south of you in the Upstate of South Carolina where damage has knocked out power probably for the next week. Fortunately little damage to homes in our area and no flooding. We visit Asheville frequently and the damage there is unreal. Thanks for the cheerful Halloween post.
Lynne
