A little fun history of Galentine’s Day:
Galentine’s Day, February 13th, was made famous when first introduced in 2010, through the comedy TV series Parks and Recreation and Amy Poehler’s fictional character, Leslie Knope:
“What is Galentine’s Day? Oh, it’s only the best day of the year. Every February 13th, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it…breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies.”
Through its fictional roots, Galentine’s Day has blossomed and grown in popularity as a day dedicated to celebrate friendship among women.

Join me for a Galentine’s Day Tea Party and celebration of friendship over tea and treats!
We’re sipping on Harney & Sons Valentine’s Day Tea. . . a chocolate flavored black tea with pink rosebuds and wonderful aroma! It’s rated 4 for aroma and 2 for briskness (astringency) and body. It has more of a chocolate aroma than flavor, allowing it to pair with savory as well as sweet treats.

Heart-shaped Tea Infusers make sweet tea party favor or takeaway for steeping loose tea
served in Mini Heart-shaped Dishes at each place setting. . . .

And Charbonnel et Walker Milk Chocolate Heels in pink handbag boxes make sweet Galentine’s Day party favors for girls who can never have too many shoes! ;)

Heart Demitasse Spoons and assorted floral teacups are waiting for you. . .

Joining Spode Archive Collection Botanical Plates: ‘Blue Rose’, ‘Jasmine’ , ‘British Flowers – Poppy’ and ‘British Flowers – Rosa’

MacKenzie-Childs Tea Kettle Napkin Rings received an embellishment from some black and white heart ribbon, to pair with the black and white checks in the napkin rings and dinner plates.

Red beaded placemats add some sparkle and shimmer to our table, with a plaid throw that’s serving as a tablecloth for some cozy winter nesting.

We’re enjoying tea by our Winter Nesting Tree, decorated to extend the *twinkle* season into the months of January and February.
It adds some sparkle for the cold, gray winter months, decorated with bird ornaments, glittery nests, snowflakes, icy branches and pinecones, to make the house cheerier and brighter.

A chandelier dessert stand elevates the fun, to hold a Pink Azalea Porcelain Teapot and offering some sweet bite size treats served in teacups on the stand . . .

Strawberry and raspberry macarons, sugared candy hearts, heart-shaped chocolate truffles, strawberries & cream cookie bites, and Ghirardelli White Chocolate Creme Brulee and Milk Chocolate Caramel Hearts.

Keep your teacups stable for serving for your tea party,
with Museum Putty / Quake Hold.

If you’re not familiar with Museum Putty, it has the texture of Silly Putty. . . just pinch off some pieces, rolling them between your fingers, warming them, to make them soft and sticky before placing them between the cups and saucers and on your stand to secure the cups. It won’t harm ceramic or porcelain surfaces and is easily removable with a gentle twist.
You can see it used with teacups for a temporary serving stand, HERE.

Mini Serving Tongs have a embossed rose design, ideal for serving mini sweet treats.

Help yourself to a heart shaped Strawberry Tea Sandwich!

I started with a strawberry cream cheese spread on Pepperidge Farm Very Thin Bread (half white and half wheat), for the tea sandwiches.

Use a mandoline to make thin slices of strawberries (large strawberries work best). Place the slices on a paper towel to absorb excess moisture, before assembling your sandwiches.

Spread the cream cheese on your slices of bread, then place your strawberries on top of cream cheese, overlapping slightly and pressing down gently. Add a sprinkle of chopped basil if desired.
To make a clean cut and more distinct heart shape, I used a metal heart cookie cutter, pressing the cutter down through assembled sandwich. Keep your ingredients in the center of the bread for less waste and to maximize your ingredients.

To assemble tea sandwiches ahead, cover your assembled sandwiches with a damp paper towel and a layer of plastic wrap and place in the fridge to keep them moist.
Note: Strawberry tea sandwiches are best enjoyed the day they are assembled.

What an excellent tea party you’re serving here, Mary! I honestly was not aware of Galentine’s Day being attributed to the Parks and Recreation episode, but what a great script writer (had to be a woman)!
So many great details here, and I love how you coordinated the sweets and tea sandwiches to the occasion. That’s one pair of shoes that will always appeal! 😉 The tongs, tea infusers and tart server could have fooled me for antique, as well as the assorted teacups. What a great way of serving all the little treats on the cake stand (love the tongs dangling on the cup handle, perfect). I think the winter tree is such a nice way to pass the bleakness winter brings, and sitting among friends there would be the ultimate way of sharing time and friendship. Thank you for the virtual treat. I always look forward to your creative ideas, so inspiring. You are appreciated by me, and many others!
How beautiful ! I have a Galentines event this Sunday and I am really looking forward to the food, fun and friendship!
Such a beautiful tea party!! Perfect for a cluster of ladies celebrating their friendship and love for each other! Little did Leslie Knope know that this would become such a popular thing!! I love all the little details you always include like the little heart spoons, the ribbon on your cute teapot napkin rings, and the adorable chocolates!! Your mixing and matching of plaids and florals and elegant with casual is what brings so much interest to your tables for me, love that!! Enjoy your Galentines!!❤️
What a delightful tea party and such a special way to celebrate friendship…..The botanical plates are so pretty and perfect for this gathering! I adore the spoon with the hearts (where can I find one?). Enjoy this special time with your girlfriends!
Thank you Patti! I found the spoons at HomeGoods several years ago. ♥
Mary, what a beautiful tea party! As always, you’ve gathered the perfect combination of dishes and floral accents and those strawberry tea sandwiches look delicious! Blessings, Cecilia @My Thrift Store Addiction
Oh my goodness! So many cute things in this post. How to zero in on just one is impossible. All the pretty tea cups and saucers. The beautiful plates. And all the adorable “galentines” day special treats. What a gift it would be to be included in a galentines day tea party.
Mary, I am well aware of your previous life in retail and I am sure you acquired many ideas at that time, but you continually come up with inspirational, beautiful ideas, not only in settings but in food ideas too and we so appreciate you. Thank you for all your tips on securing cups to saucers which is something most of us would not think of… until we actually knocked or pulled a cup from it’s perch at serving time. You see….it is the little things that count, so thank you for that. I did think your tongs, etc were vintage as they are lovely. I, too have the heart shaped demitasse spoons and have enjoyed them for years and not only for Valentine’s Day. I have always admired your winter tree and each year I think I am going to keep one of my trees up and decorate it like yours, but then I get a case of the “perhaps I’ll do that next year” and then I grab a book and have another cup of tea. LOL Always fun to hop with you. ❤️❤️❤️🥰
Good morning, Mary. Your Galentine’s Day Tea Party is exquisite. Who wouldn’t love to be invited to sit at this table?! The chandelier dessert stand is a lovely way to display your floral cups with the sweet offerings and the charming teapot (which I also have). The Harney & Sons Valentine Day Tea sounds delicious and the fact that it pairs well with savory and sweet treats makes it an ideal choice. You have a lovely collection of heart accoutrements for your Valentine’s table. You carry out a theme so perfectly! I had no idea where a Galentine’s celebration began, thanks for sharing its origin.
It always a pleasure to pull out a chair at one of your tables! Happy Birthday to your hubby on the 31st ❤️☕️
Mary, my heart is full! What an elegant party to celebrate friends. I never knew the history behind Galentine’s. Thanks for sharing! It’s such a perfect idea, celebrating friendship! Harney & Sons teas are one of my favorites, and I’ve not had this. I do think an order will be placed today! The sweet heart tea infuser makes me smile the way you styled it. I pinned your idea! And the mini chocolate shoes in a bag, I must find those for my girlfriends. The red toile plates paired with the black and white are definitely my vibe as well, Mary. And the darling MKC Courtly Check tea pot napkin rings. So special! I could go on and on about this tea table. I will definitely be back for scrolling up and down, pinning more ideas. For now I’m going to spread my wings and fly off to a see the other table. I’m so happy we are friends! Definitely friends of a feather!!!
Mary, Your Galentine’s tea is lovely. Your napkin rings are adorable! How appropriate for a tea! The heart sandwiches are so cute and sound tasty. That heart spoon is a favorite; it’s just so cute! Hope you have a great week. Clara❤️
Good Morning Mary,
First off, the chandelier-tiered dessert serving tray! I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. How creative and beautiful you made it!
Your Galentine’s Tea Party is not only beautiful but it’s also full of inspiration. The heart tea sandwiches are darling and so simple for gals like me who enjoy simple!
The red and white plates make me smile. I love all things red and white.
Thank you for having us today. It was such a pleasure to gaze at each photo.
Happy Galentine’s Day! ❤️🩷🩷
So many sweet treats for your Galentine tea party Mary, please pass the Creme Brulee hearts! I love your sparkling red beaded placemats and the MKC tea kettle napkin rings, and how you have the tea cups filled with goodies on the chandelier dessert stand centerpiece. Museum putty is magic stuff isn’t it! Such a delightful and cozy spot by your Winter Nesting tree, for girl talk and tea!

Oh my gosh Mary this tea party is the best. Those teapot napkin rings are just adorable. Everything from the food to the table scape is pretty and delicious. Love it all. Hugs. Kris
Red Velvet scones and M-C beaded teapot napkin rings- yes please
Oh Mary, your Galentine’s Day tea party setup is absolutely delightful! The combination of Harney & Sons Valentine’s Day Tea with the heart-shaped infusers is both charming and so thoughtful! Being a tea girl I love this combo!! The Charbonnel et Walker Milk Chocolate Heels are such a playful yet sophisticated element – Love them! Gorgeous dishes, delicious food, and an absolutely enchanting setting – everything you need for a memorable Galentine’s Day!! Thank you for always inspiring me with your incredible talent!! You’re the best!! Hugs ~ Jennifer
Galentine’s Day is a wonderful way to celebrate friendship. Mixing the black and white checks with florals works really well in your table setting. The texture of the woolen “tablecloth” ties in the black and white checks and the floral plates. I particularly liked the teapot napkin rings. They were whimsical and fit in so well with the plates. Thanks for the tutorial on sandwich hearts. It’s always fun to add a traditional theme to the table setting. Enjoy your tea party and Happy Galentine’s Day, Mary.

Mary, what a fabulous Galentine’s tea party you have created here! I love the chandelier dessert stand with the teacups filled with treats and the strawberry cream cheese tea sandwiches all look scrumptious. The Spode botanical salad plates are so pretty and what a lovely collection of tea cups and saucers. Love the sparkly chargers and the MKC teapot napkin rings are beyond adorable. I did not know the history of Galentine’s day so thanks for that. Lucky are the Galentines that will join you for this beautiful tea party. It was a pleasure hopping with you and wishing you a wonderful Valentine’s Day!
Gorgeous
Everything is simply stunning, Mary: your table, the treats, and all the sparkly things. I think that a Galentine’s Day party sounds like so much fun, yet none of my friends have ever hosted one. You’re inspiring me to host one, maybe! Everything is so girly and cute, and I just love the darling teacups and saucers. My favorite things are the cute teapot napkin rings. “Happy Galentine’s!”
What a special Galentine’s tea party you’ve created, Mary! I love everything about it. The chandelier tea stand just makes me swoon and then all those pretty teacups and the teapot. Aren’t those MKC napkin rings darling with the checkered plates? I’ll be first in line to come to your ♥️ party! I’m thinking that my granddaughters would love the strawberry tea sandwiches. Thanks for all the inspiration. 🥰
Oh Mary, how I would love to be a guest at this gorgeous Valentine’s Day tea setting! The teapot and teacup centerpiece is beautiful, and you have so many pretties on your table. The Harney and Sons Valentine’s tea sounds delicious. I love their loose leaf teas. I was introduced to their teas when I stayed at Old Edwards in Highlands. They serve them in a French press. I was hooked and now French press my tea each morning. The strawberry tea sandwiches and red velvet scones look scrumptious. Thanks for sharing the recipes. Wishing you a wonderful week!
Mary, your Galentine tea party looks fabulous. So many things to love. ❤️ the chandelier dessert stand is perfect for showcasing your lovely teapot and charming tea cups filled with yummy treats. Thanks for the tip about museum putty. The plate stack is so pretty with the MKC teapot napkin rings. The heart tea infuser is precious. The honey and Sons Valentine te sounds delicious, plus the tin is so pretty. I have served those adorable chocolate heels 👠 for a past tablescape. Always a pleasure joining you on these fabulous blog hops. Happy Valentine’s Day.❤️
Mary, I could almost taste the tea and goodies as you described it. What a beautiful way to display your goods as a centerpiece to your Valentine’s Day table. Your collection of tea cups are beautiful and really symbolizes intimacy and a cozy time together. With your nesting tree in the background, it makes for such a welcoming table to spend a good part of the day with family and friends. Or with a humorous get together with the ladies. I love the tea pot napkin rings. So perfect for your tea party. Have a wonderful Valentine’s Day.

Love your teacup chandelier tiered tray!! What a lovely table… Happy Galentine’s!!!
Mary, this is such a wonderfully charming setup for a delightful Galentine’s Day afternoon! I love each and every detail to explore and admire. I love the layers of shapes, patterns and colors. I love the different heights for displaying the sweets — which I can almost taste! I’m crazy about the napkin rings and the tea strainers. Sigh — what a lovely experience you have in store for your friends. Enjoy!
