Nest Feathering with Birdhouses, Dishes and Snowballs!

I’ve been feathering my nest with snowballs! The Chinese Snowball Viburnum kind of snowballs, enjoying the snowball effect around the Potting Shed.

I had a little tabletop fun with bird houses and dishes for a little whimsy, enjoying the snowball blooms before they melt away from all our April Showers :)

Timely with nesting season.

We look forward to bluebirds nesting in our dovecote each spring.

I hung this ceramic bird house for a touch of whimsy, but I’ll move it to the Potting Shed to enjoy so it doesn’t break with our lake winds.

A favorite bird urn is filled with snowball blooms . . .

And a ceramic bird house flew in to nest among the snowballs.

These ceramic bird plates, mugs and houses flew long distance to me from a friend.

But a little bird told me they were found roosting at HomeGoods :)

Hope you’re enjoying some bird song in your neck of the woods. . .

And finding some blooms to feather your nest!

Mary, the snowball viburnum is gorgeous! I don’t have one in our garden, but I’m going to investigate to see if perhaps I can grow one here. Your waterside setting makes it all the more inviting. Love the cute dishes you were gifted. Very thoughtful!

I love it when you post pictures of your silverware. I am addicted to vintage silver and old china. Polishing silver is my therapy.

Hi Mary, The bird wars for the best nesting sites have begun in our yard, and I think these adorable little houses would be a prime property, especially surrounded by your incredible snowball blossoms. The boaters on your lake will use your house as a reference point–the one with the beautiful bush and the potting shed! :) Linda

I am in love with that ceramic birdhouse and those dishes! I lost my favorite birdhouse years ago when we were hit by a tornado, and have never been able to replace it with anything that I liked. Yours is very sweet and simple, and I really do like it.

  26. April 21, 2015 at 12:26 am

Oh, the blooms couldn’t be more lovely – well, yes they could! You nestled them right next to the water!!!
We actually had real snowballs this week! I sure am hoping it didn’t kill all my fruit tree blossoms. I will take your snowballs any day! Such a lovely ceramic bird house to go along with the dovecote. Everything is always so beautiful here where the boat is!

  27. April 22, 2015 at 7:18 pm

I love snowball viburnums too! In our last house my older boys used to pull the blooms off our 2 bushes and use them as baseballs and see who could hit them farther. It drove me crazy but is a sweet memory. I totally inspired to go out and get one for our new house now! Love the look of them with the birdhouses:)

Super cute Mary! The snowball viburnum look fabulous. The bird houses are cute hung on the branches. Charming display with the little table set. We’re finally melting (again) from the snow and I think spring is finally going to step forward and get in gear!

Loving this table Mary. I have a large bird seed sitting right next to my front door, I may just be inspired to use it for decorative purposes as well as feeding the fur babies.

  35. April 17, 2016 at 1:01 pm

Mary, this is lovely. I love the bird plates. We have Virburnum blooming in our yard right now too. Wish I could throw together a table, everything is packed for the remodel. Next year! Dianne
