Happy Independence Day and Centerpiece

Happy 4th of July! I put together a quick and easy centerpiece in celebration of the red, white and blooming hydrangeas in an ironstone pitcher, serving as a vase.

And exercised my freedom and independence, using a ‘Happy 4th of July’ cake topper/banner, atop the hydrangeas instead of a cake. ;)

You can find at the table here, celebrating the Red, White, and Liberty Blue.

However you celebrate, spend a few moments to remember and give thanks for our military men and women and their families, whose service and sacrifice allow us to live in freedom.

Four Cheers for the Red, White and Blue!

Mary, love your blog and enjoy all the great ideas. For the 4th, we went to a nearby mall to watch the fireworks, but had to be there early as they close up the streets. So we went with friends and packed food. I made a variation of your “fairy cake” by making individual parfaits in small clear glasses. I put in a disk of angel food cake, followed by the lemon curd lightened up with cream cheese and some cool whip (real whipped cream wouldn’t have stood up to the time and heat), loaded up some raspberries/strawberries/blueberries, and topped it off with more cool whip. Let me tell you, they were G-O-N-E in nothing flat, and people were asking for seconds. Thanks again, and give those pups a hug for me.
