Love the bee plates most of all. If you ever start selling dinnerware on your website, all of us will go broke. LOL
As always, awesome photos. Rethink that coffee table book of photos.

Lovely, Mary…simply lovely! You make me want to set a pretty table again.

  31. February 1, 2018 at 11:01 am

Beautiful, as always! Where did you find the beehive? Love it.

  32. February 1, 2018 at 12:51 pm

Gorgeous place setting!!! I really like the way you were able to use different patterns in an effective (and beautiful!) way. The garden glove with the napkin and flatware is such a cool idea! The glove has a soft appearance thanks to the pattern as well as the bit of lace from the napkin peeping out. Lovely! So nice that you are able to do things in the potting shed this time of year. Those of us here in the middle of the country are shivering and shaking still!!!

  33. February 1, 2018 at 5:16 pm

I love the “Bee Mine” theme of your Valentine tea. I did a Valentine tea party last year for my mother and mother-in-law who are widowed and it was a real hit. I too used a lot of red transferware and floral china tea cups but alas, no bees. Thanks for sharing your lovely things and your creativity Happy Valentine’s Day!

So sweet and just perfect for this time of year when we remind those we love of their importance in our lives and remember the love of those who have loved us. Thank you for sharing your husbands’s Grandmother’s pieces in today’s post. I am sure they must give you much joy to use them, just as my Grandmother’s pieces give me the same joy and remind me of her love.

    Hi Mary,

Would you let me know the source of the Bee Hive that is sitting on a cake pedestal in the first photo? What a terrific way to set the Bee Mine theme!

    • February 2, 2018 at 5:25 am

Hi Betsy, The bee skep is from my retail days that I’ve had 20+ years. It was from an import company, no brand name. If I find one similar this spring, I’ll give you a buzz. :)

Did you ever find out where the bee hive came from? I love it too.

      • January 24, 2022 at 11:31 am

Hi Judy, The bee skep came from Hobby Lobby several years ago. 🐝

Oh Mary, this pretty table in your potting shed is making my heart go pitter-patter! I love the red transferware, the darling embossed teapot and plates and the bee stamped spoons. I also love that your treasure your hubby’s grandmother’s dishes and pitchers. You make everything look special.

  39. February 3, 2018 at 12:24 pm

Simply beautiful:-)) Have a nice Valenitine Day:-))

  40. February 5, 2018 at 9:52 am

Love is certainly in the air in the Potting Shed….it truly makes it even more special with your treasured pieces from your hubby’s grandmother…She is looking down with such joy and approval of how you have so beautifully displayed them and enjoy their beauty.

  41. February 8, 2018 at 4:26 pm

Your table is set so creatively and is just bee-utiful! I do love bee themed china. Have you seen Wedgwood’s Sarah’s Garden? A number of years ago I went and saw Sarah, Duchess of York, give a talk at Macy’s in Costa Mesa, California, about that china pattern and about Wedgwood’s china in general. A fun talk and I still love that china! There are bees and skeps and flowers scattered lightly about with either a green, light reddish-brown, yellow or cornflower blue border around the salad/dessert and dinner plates.

    Enjoy yours,
    Barb :)

I love it all…just beautiful! What is the name of the red plate on the window ledge in the center just above the pedestal cake plate with the bee skept on it, between the two Crown Ducal Bristol plates? I love that plate!

    • October 12, 2018 at 6:58 am

Hi Peggy, It’s marked Royal Staffordshire Avondale Ironstone by J & G Meakin England :)

  44. February 10, 2019 at 12:52 pm

I *thought* I recognized Napoleon Bee peeking out – I’ve recently acquired two place settings in this and looking forward to setting a sweet table-for-two with them! I love all the details – the red and white is gorgeous and of course the potting shed is the perfect backdrop! Thank you for an absolutely lovely post!

  45. January 6, 2020 at 10:28 pm

So beautiful!! I just love every part. I have collected many beautiful things through the years and used them in settings, but none of mine are as beautiful as yours. You truly are talented.
