Memorial Day is three weeks away. . .a day to wave the flag, salute the stars and stripes and celebrate the Red, White and Blue!
In celebration, I’m sharing some Stars & Stripe Ball Jar love with a little giveaway!
The Stars and Stripes Keepsake Ball Jars are new for 2018. In addition to the classic Ball logo, they feature a Stars and Stripes embossment, adding a patriotic touch to your canning, storage, beverage, and décor creations, ideal for family picnics for the Fourth of July and Memorial Day!
Ball Jars have been made in USA since 1884, another thing to celebrate!
To celebrate the Red, White and Blue, I put together a little patriotic vignette on a window shelf in the Potting Shed. Bachelor Buttons and Oxeye Daisies are growing free for-the-picking in the field beside it, so I added some to the jars. I cut the first of the Knock Out Roses and the last of the Bridal Wreath Spirea, along with some Penstemon for some red, white and blue bouquets. They’re joining some red, white and Liberty blue transferware.
Liberty Blue dinnerware was created by Enoch Wedgwood Company, in the historic Staffordshire district of England. It was designed on behalf of Benjamin Franklin Federal Savings and Loan, as a promotional item in commemoration of the company’s 50th anniversary in 1975, and in celebration of the American Bicentennial in 1976.
Fifteen different historic scenes from the American colonial period were used on the Liberty Blue dinnerware. The dinner plates feature Independence Hall, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where both the United States Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution were debated and adopted.
You can see them at a Patriotic Table with Red, White and Liberty Blue, HERE.
A vintage flower frog is supporting American flags. . .
While other flags are waving from Stars & Stripes bouquets.
Spode ‘British Flowers – Rosa’
And Spode Archive Collection Jasmine add a pop of red. You can see the Spode botanical plates at a *Bee* Mine Valentine Table, HERE.
I’m sharing my Stars & Stripes Ball Jar Love and giving away 2 sets of pint jars.

Wow the leaded window first caught my eye. Then the beautiful plates and gorgeous flowers. Ball jars have been part of my kitchen for 50yrs when I first starting canning. Thanks for the memories?❤️
Good Morning, Mary. I simply can’t get over your flowers in bloom! That’s an arrangement I won’t be able to make for nearly another month, but I sure love seeing it now. Love the arrangements of both the flowers and plates. And what a generous person you are! Have a great week.
I am a follower and always look forward to your blog posts, but this red, white & blue celebration is over the top. I had to pin 3 of your photos to my Pinterest folder ‘Americana.’ I LOVE those Ball jars and would use them for display when not holding flowers.
These jars are wonderful! While I do make a lot of jams during the summer, I think I would use these to hold red white and blue flowers as a centerpiece of the Fourth of July table. Thanks for the giveaway. Lovely display as always.
Fantastic display- I always enjoy seeing a patriotic table! I have to pass on the giveaway only because I recently found them. I’ll be sharing a set with my daughter who likes to can and I will use mine for a tablescape. 🇺🇸
I would use one of the jars for flowers and one for straws or silverware. I must say your posts never disappoint and are always an inspiration and simply lovely.
Good Morning Mary! I love tuning into your posts in the morning. The pictures make my day! I love the way you look ahead to give us time to get our decor together! I love the patriotic jars. Have a great day! Danielle
Hi, Mary,
It’s always fun to enter a contest! I would use the jars for storage, for adding fresh flowers to my tablescapes, and for drinking water or other beverages on patriotic holidays.
Happy Monday!
Maureen
I just pinned the photo that shows the whole vignette to my “Patriotic Tablescapes” board on Pinterest.

Love this patriotic time of year! Pinned to my Patriotic Pinterest board! Ball jars have so many fun uses, and I get so many ideas by following your blog! Thanks for the giveaway & wonderful ideas! Love them for sitting on the patio with iced sweet tea!
Beautiful post. Love the Red, White and Blue. I need to find these special Ball jars.🇺🇸
Thank you for your beautiful blog. It inspires me every day! I too have a Bichon. My husband and I have enjoyed the pracious poses you have photographed. We live on a lake and hold a 4th of July celebration for grandchildren. I am in charge of games and prizes for the kids. I would love to fill the jars with pedicure items. Making “Pedicures in a Jar” as prizes for the older girls. I hope you will consider us in your give a way!
What fun, thank you for the opportunity to win! I would use them like you have, in tablescapes, maybe with candles.
Happy Monday Mary! What a gorgeous red, white, and blue vignette. The transferware is stunning as are the flowers in the jars. What a lovely way to start off a new week, visiting in your potting shed!
Ball jars are in constant use in our home. Being of service as holders, ie q-tips, jar salads, flower arrangements, and most often used to deliver “goodies”, be it soup, leftovers or pudding to shut ins in our town of Odessa, DE.
Thanks for the chance to win but mostly for letting me know this special jar is available.
Thanks for an honest USA made product!
Love everything you do. I use Ball jars for so many things. Drinks, flowers, storing pasta, snacks, etc.
These would be sweet for the fourth. Thank you!
Just wanted to let you know that I pinned one of your beautiful vignettes on Pinterest under my category “Fourth of July”. I hope you will consider my idea of Pedicures in a Jar” for prizes. Our granddaughters would have beautiful keepsake.
As always a beautiful post . I would really love using my jars as part of a tablescape to celebrate my second sons graduation from US Airforce flight school in Columbus Mississippi.
LT. ConnorCrilly!!!
Ball canning jars are a staple in our kitchen! We use them for everything from storage in the pantry to individual salads on the go😀. Thank you so much for the chance to win a set of patriotic jars, I saved the Pin to my “Red, White & Blue” board. 🇺🇸
I’m glad you found the jars Mary because I knew you’d have fun with them:@) Please toss my name into the hat, I think one filled with flowers would look great on my tiered tray this summer! And I’m thinking some relish for the 4th of July picnic too… So many possibilities!
Lovely display as always. I use jars for flowers also but my favorite use is for picnics in or out of the house. When my friend was recovering from surgery and bored at home but not ready to go out yet, I invited a small group of our friends to her house for an indoor picnic lunch. I carried over small muffulettas, a bag of chips, a jar of pickles and used jars for pasta salad and for dessert. We had a great time and there was nothing at her house to clean up afterward. I packed up my jars and took them home.
Canning! Loving my new jam maker and as a consequence every gift includes some kind of jam LOL! Looking for a great tomato jam recipe right now….
The blue transferware is so happy, and I love the way you used the vintage “frog” as a flag holder 😊
Love your use of the jars. Pictures are beautiful!
Love the jars. I would tie red, white and blue ribbons around them and drink out of them or I may put flowers and flags in the, I could use them for canning, there’s a lot of different thing I could
use them for!
I would definitely use them for decoration. I always have the American Flag and other patriotic decor inside and out all year around. I’ve added some new since my grandson is currently on active duty in the Army. These would be a nice addition.
Love the jars!! I would use them in my Patriotic decor for the 4th! 2 sons have been in the Marines and 1 is a 4th of July baby!!
Thank you!
Memorial day is sneaking right up on me as the weather is JUST now getting nicer! I love your sweet vignette and celebrating the red, white and blue! I would use the jars for flowers and/or beverages! Thanks for being so generous, Mary! I am a follower!!
I love these! Thank you for offering them as a give-away. I would fill them with the tiny battery operated lights and add red, white and blue pinwheels for my picnic table for Memorial Day and other summer gatherings. Enjoy your posts!
Don’t you just love BALL jars! These are beautiful. Think I would use for decorating-your flowers are gorgeous and also maybe one for crafting. Little stars and other scrapbook stuff would look cool in this jar on my shelf!
Pinned these jars before I read the giveaway details! Thanks for a chance to win them.
Hoorah!! franki
Definitely for flowers now with all the pretty flowers in bloom, but I can think of so many uses. I love Mason jars!
Thank you.
I love patriotic themes. I would use the jars in a table setting. Probably to hold flowers and/or flags.
Great post today! Love your Liberty Blue plate! I am a follower who would use the bell jars as part of my summer centerpiece I keep on my dining table: I would wrap red, white and blue ribbons around it and fill with summer flowers. Thanks for the chance of a giveaway.
Once again, a beautiful tribe to America! For me, lately I have admired all the scrumious desserts that have been made in Ball Mason Jars. Yes, I admire them on line, but once I get to the store, I’m always too frugal to purchase. If I was lucky enough to win, I’d share the American spirit by making homemade strawberry ice cream with my elderly neighbors during Memorial Day and honoring the ones that served for us. In addition, I’d enjoy some ice cream with my hubby while sitting on the patio! :)
Love your bouquets of flowers in the ball jars, Mary, and your pretty red, white, and blue dishes! I love seeing your shutters adorned with a change of pretty plates through the seasons. Thank you for the opportunity to win the jars, and for Lynn in telling you about them.
Love the jars, I would use them for decor this summer. I have been a subscriber for several years as we have a home on Tablerock lake in Missouri. Also pinning your picture to my summertime board on Pinterest.
Love your photos!!!!! I would use the jars for flowers🌹🌹🌹
We enjoyed our first summer like day yesterday and it put me straight in the red white and blue mood!! I love the patriotic ball jars that Lynn shared, what a fun addition for summer holidays! I would use them for flowers or snacks, I personally feel that you can’t have too many Ball jars, even HH loves to use them for leftover, small hardware and his favorite snacks :) Your transferware is beautiful!
Good morning Mary! I love the Memorial Day ideas. I especially love the dishes with the Ball jars. Please enter me in the contest. I am subscribed to your blog and follow you on Pinterest. I pinned several pictures to my Patriotic Decorating Ideas board. I would use the jars Memorial Day and the 4th of July. I think wrapping silverware with a patriotic napkin, tied with ribbon and inserted into the Ball jars would be a great way to use the jars on the porch. Then once at the table, remove the wrapped silverware, pour the iced tea or lemonade and enjoy! After the holidays, I would use the jars for kitchen storage & display. Ball jars and vintage Corning Ware are my best friends! I grew up canning with Ball jars so they invoke wonderful memories of my grandma, Mama, and I canning delicious veggies for winter use. As I had the smallest hands, one of my jobs was to wash the Ball jars before they were steralized. Now we have dishwashers that do this task (thank goodness) but they won’t produce the same childhood memories of 3 generations in the kitchen interacting and the tricks & tips of canning & cooking I learned along the way! I am sure though the children of today will have their own special memories as traditions are tweaked but still passed down. These sweet memories last a lifetime and encourage tasty homemade food, lovely tablescapes and making more memories for future generations. Memorial Day is a time of remembrance for sacrifices on behalf of our country. Thanks to all military veterans & their families past and present. We live in a great nation. Wishing you a wonderful day! Clara 😃
Mary, what a lovely post and sweet give away. Since I was so fortunate to win the beautiful blue Ball jar give away, I’ll pass on this, even though they are so awesome with the new patriotic design. I love all my Ball jars and use them for canning, holding my old buttons, some sea shells, and flower vases. Good luck to all entries 😃 and thank you for another awesome post!
Beautiful photos Mary. I love the dishes, they are just so pretty and classic. I collect Ball Jars and would use these to display flowers and serve iced tea or sangria for the 4th of July celebrations. Your photos are so patriotic and have me excited for Memorial Day!
I would make Muscadine jelly.
Definitely for flowers. I’m not much of a canner or crafter.
You are getting me in the mood for the red, white and blue! Please don’t count me in the drawing for the giveaway since I was already a lucky recipient of one of your fabulous giveaways!!!
How great that Lynn told you about those wonderful jars….the potting shed is truly ready for the summer of celebrating everything red, white and blue! Nothing more wonderful than flowers in a simple container such as the iconic Ball jar!
Have a great Monday Mary!
I would tie a single red, white, or blue ribbon on each one and use them to serve drinks and individual servings of potato salad on the outside patio table.
Thank you for your excellent article, it really helped me.
God Bless America. How about serving dessert in these patriotic jars. Vanilla ice cream, strawberries and blue berries.
Mary, I saw the heading for this post and thought, “red, white and blue?” and then I read that Memorial Day was only 3 weeks away and wondered where the days are going. Wow, I am just adjusting to spring and it will be over before I can enjoy. But, every day is such a gift.
I certainly need more containers like I need a “hole in my head”, but I would use these jars for flowers. I think they are perfect for those summer picnic style tables. If I could find them, I would include cornflowers or bachelor buttons in my bouquet because they are some of my favorites.
Thanks, MM
Love the new jars! I would use to put candy in and set out in the hall of our apt.Great displays. Always so many idea!
I presently have a jar with about 20 flags in it in my curio cabinet. I would use the Ball jar instead! Also like the idea of the red, white, and blue flowers too!

Pinned this to my Summer tablescapes! https://www.pinterest.com/pin/32017847335727556/
Beautiful! I love how you layer the plates. I noticed the ones in front are not in easels. Do you use a type of stick um to hold them in place? Thanks for sharing your ideas and tips. Susan

Hi Mary, I am a long time subscriber, first time commenting. I lust after your potting shed. The red, white and
blue theme is timeless. I would use the jars to store grandchildren snacks and flowers. Thanks you for the
giveaway.
I would use these jars for decoration at first- putting red white and blue M&Ms in one and maybe flowers in another or other candy, then maybe for storing cupcake wrappers in patriotic colors or craft supplies after Memorial day.
I am a subscriber to your blog for my second entry.
I have pinned this to my my “patriotic” board where I keep ideas for red white and blue decorating on pinterest.
Mary, you are always on top of the latest thing. I love the idea of patriotic Ball jars. I use my jars for flowers. I have the vintage blue and the wonderful lavender ones from my friend, Mary!!! Where did you find these? I want to buy a set for myself. Having recently received the wonderful garden gift from you, I don’t need to be included in this patriotic giveaway. I’m loving my garden apron, trowel with my pretty cup and saucer and special tea,
You’ve reminded me to start pulling out my red, white, and blue. I usualy enjoy it all summer long from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Happy red, white, and blue!
Mary beautiful as usual. I would use the jars as a display. Thank You for a chance to win them
Marion
Because these are jars I would keep for the next 10 years, they would get used for all mentioned. Cut flowers for my garden, candy to snack on on a nearby table, storage in my pantry. Such fun for the summer.
Love, love, love your set up using the Ball jars. I am so ready for some red, white and blue. These Ball jars would be wonderful to use for tablescaping as you have done and of course for flowers. I pinned one of your pictures to my 4th of July board. Thank you for this opportunity. I am going to be on the hunt for these Ball jars.
The jars are quite lovely. I would put them with my other red, white and blue decorations and have them on display.
Thank You for the giveaway.
Marilyn
Thank You Mary for this giveaway. The jars I would use with a flag in each one.
Joan
I was going to attache a picture but I guess I can’t. I made red white and blue drinks a few years ago in canning jars. If you layer them correctly- heaviest sugar content on the bottom, then you can keep the colors separated and they look really neat with a stripe of each color in the glass layered up.
I see tons of crafts for the jars but the canner in me loves to use them for canning. (not knocking the crafts… I love the look of them. I think I may have to go to the dollar store and get the knock off jars for projects!)

Lovely post! I just love the plates and the decor! I think the jars would be wonderful to use for salads to go for Memorial Day and the 4th of July! Going to pin this next 😄. PS I love following your blog and always love all your pins FB posts tweets etc!!! thank you for all the inspiration
I use my Ball jars for everything, — snack mix, holding dry beans, buttons, lost parts, random flower gatherings from the garden, pickled eggs, extra coconut milk, best containers in the world.
I always love seeing Liberty Blue – and I keep thinking about starting my own collection but I’m trying to fill out my existing patterns first. I was at Pier 1 yesterday and saw their amazing display of Red, White & Blue, they have the cutest napkin rings, I’ll going back with my coupon to get them.
I’d use those nice big jars for long-term storage for baking supplies!
Stars and Strips remind me of my father who served our country. I love ball jars as my 3 year old grandson says -they make me so happy!!
I do so love reading your blogs and seeing the potting sheds décor for all the holidays and seasons. The Ball jars are so useful for so many things. Oh the possibilities.
Mary, I bought a pontoon boat last year; I really think I should blame you for that. I also purchased lots of red and blue accessories- dishes, pillows, towels, etc for it. I think I am blaming that on you also! The only thing I haven’t done is adopt a bichon (yet)! I would use the jars mostly for drinks. Thanks so much for inspiring us all!
What a lovely red, white and blue potting shed presentation! The Liberty blue transferware is one of my loves that I hope to acquire one day to mix with my blue and white collection of dishes! They are so patriotic! And yes, the ball jars, Stars and Stripes keepsake collectibles would make the perfect drinkware with cute red, white and blue straws for my Screen Porch patriotic dinner! Yes! That is exactly how I would use them!!! I can just see them now!!! What an addition to my table they would be!!! Happy Monday, Mary!
Clever use of the frog to display the flags in. If I win, I will use jars for canning beans
The Stars and Stripes ball jars make perfect casual vases for the Memorial Day weekend and for the Fourth of July. I know I would enjoy filling them with cut flowers – very festive!

Love mason jars for all our summer drinks! Thank you!
I live near acres of strawberries. I would use the jars for my strawberry jam.
Those are beautiful and I would put daisies in mine! Lots of daisies!
Mary, If I were one of the lucky winners of a set of the patriotic mason jars, I would use them as a container for a homemade treat, such as your popcorn/candy/peanuts/melting candy recipe and then tie a red, white and blue ribbon around the lid. I think they would “dress” up a family get-together table for Memorial Day. Thank you for all of the historical information along with your photos, very inspiring.
I would use the mason jars for flowers.
I would use these jars for candles with sand or red, blue, and white little glass disks . Candy treats would be great during daylight hours.

Your vignette is beautiful, I also collect transferware plates. I used jars for canning pickles, salsa and pizza sauce. Also for flowers from my cutting garden-zinnias are my favorite from seed!
I would use these at dinner for my son when he is home from active duty in the United States Army.
What a glorious vignette Mary! I would love to have a set of these jars, since I do can as we have a nice size garden. However, I would probably use these cuties as decor for flatware, drinks, fresh flowers, or other means of display. Thanks for the giveaway!

Absolutely love your post with all of your wonderful ideas. These canning jars are a perfect addition to any patriotic tablescape. Love them as vases with the red, white and blue flowers! I could also see them as candle holders…….fill with anything red, white and blue and add a candle……tie a little colored raffia around the neck of the jar and your done. 🇺🇸😊
Love the details can’t believe it’s a potting shead. Can’t wait to get my hands on some of those Ball jars. Thank you for sharing.
