In anticipation of Independence Day, I’m on the porch with a patriotic table!
And I’m proudly celebrating the Red, White and Blue as part of a tablescape blog hop. You’ll find tablesetting inspiration from 18 other bloggers at the bottom of this post!
I planned to do an alfresco table by the lake, (see last year’s Patriotic Table with Red, White and Liberty Blue and this year’s A Blooming Watermelon Vase and Patriotic Table) but it’s been in the mid 90s with 85% humidity for umpteen days in a row. . .to say it’s ‘pore-cleansing’ weather is an understatement. ;)
I decided to stay in the shade of the porch and where I could enjoy a little breeze generated by the ceiling fan instead.
My patriotic tree on the porch for Patriotic Fridays adds some additional red, white and blue and provides a Stars & Stripes Salute for our Nation’s birthday!
Assorted stars and stripes bowls sit atop red and blue rimmed white plates while enamel star napkin rings hold red and blue paisley and striped napkins.
They’re layered on galvanized chargers and straw placemats and served up with Americana flatware!
A galvanized three-tier stand makes an easy centerpiece to celebrate the Red, White & Blue!
It’s filled with sparklers, stars and appetizer plates. . .
And Ball Stars & Stripes Jars are filled with blue hydrangeas, red alstroemeria and patriotic treats, topped mini American flags.
Blue goblets and star straws are ready for some patriotic sipping and serving up Red, White & Blue Sangria!

Mary, I totally understand your choice to set your table under the ceiling fan.Summer has definitely arrived.
You find the neatest tablecloths and napkins as well as napkin rings that fit your theme. Love the parsley navy cloth that I am sure you will style with in many ways again. Adding straws with stars and subtly adding stars again in the napkin rings and on the bowls bring out the stars on the flags and banners. Your galvanized three tier stand and chargers and layered straw placemats add texture and complement your red and blue stripe plates.I really like the straw mats that weave red, white and blue around the edge.The Americana flatware pull it all together perfectly.

Your porch is lovely! Glad you have a more sheltered place to protect you from that heat – wow! Love the inspiration. No 4th party for me this year, but trying to put some patriotic colors on my patio for a few get-togethers on other dates in July. Cannot find a suitable tablecloth, so I’ll be shopping for fabric today. The blue paisley tablecloth is really cute!

Hooray for the red, white, and blue! Your table is just as festive as I knew it would be. Love using a tiered stand as a centerpiece! I haven’t set a patriotic table, and may not. Love how you carried the Patriotic theme from the tree throughout your porch and table. I love the burlap bunting but since we have had so much rain recently (over ten inches since Thursday) I am wondering how it will hold up to rain verses the nylon. I would also like to use the burlap bunting on my screen porch. I also wanted you to know I cut blue hydrangea Thursday morning and used your alum dipping method and they still look great. Thanks so much for your practical as well as creative advise.

Mary, Mary you are certainly not contrary unless one would call the envy of tablescapers everywhere….contrary. I am always amazed at all the inspiration you present. Love the white tree all decorated in red white and blue and your pretty tablecloth is perfect. I understand the weather and extra heat we all seem to have…. so cooling off a bit under the fan is genius. Beautiful bunting. I do believe that my bunting is in it’s last year as this Florida sun fades the flag and all decor almost overnight. So I will retire mine until I can replace it with new for the next patriotic holiday.

Gorgeous, Mary! I especially love your center arrangement -great idea to use tiers! I’ve been so happy with my hydrangeas this year – there were so many blooms I was able to cut them twice. I love seeing others that love them too. I hope you had a happy 4th!
