Your posts are always a feast for the eyes….and a stimulate to the appetite. LOL! I really love the bee jars and would definitely fill them with flowers and possibly display decorative items in them as well. How wonderful for a company to have 140 years of success!

I haven’t seen the bee jars and would love to win them. I have a different ball jar I am using now – it’s the base of a small lamp in my kitchen where I have a lot of bee decor and I would use the jar as it’s base.

Ron, my husband, turns 84 this year. He started making jam with his grandmother as a little boy. He will only use Ball jars. He would treasure these, as would I.
Making pickles and jam is a joy we share each year. We each have our part to play.
Your garden shed with its original sign inspired me to find it. I looked and looked but never did. As you know, the looking is the best fun😊.
      My best,
      June

I use Ball jars for all that you mentioned but probably the most fun way I used one was to fill a Ball jar with the marbles my husband had as a child and make it into a lamp for my son’s bedroom. Now my grandson has it.

Where do I start as I too have a thing about jars. I would use them to store things in my kitchen, in my craft room, for the canning I do, for flowers, as candles. Recently I shared some seeds in tiny jars with my book group and asked if they would give the jars back. One of the ladies looked at me and said…Why would you want them back…how can you use them? I just smiled and said I have a love for bottles! I pinned the one picture of flowers. Thanks for bringing a smile to my face. Peace

I use Ball Jars for freezing foods as chicken soup or my fresh homemade tomato sauce. I use the jars a great deal for ice tea, lemon water, fruits, and overnight oatmeal.
Certain jars are tasked for flowers and others for the easy mason jar candles.~ Learned that from your tutorial/blog, Mary! (So grateful to you as the candle jars present beautifully especially in the summer!)

After watching my grandmother and mother many years ago, I love to use canning jars when making jams from fresh berries. I always use them to store salad dressing and leftover gravy, etc. in the fridge. Flowers from the garden can always find a place looking pretty in a Ball jar … and I’m always looking for more! Thanks for the great photos and ideas!

Oh Mary!!! What a neat post! Mason jar’s 140 years. WOW. They made such an important impact of keeping people alive back then. My mom was a canner and so is my youngest daughter. I never “got” the gene but sure respect it.
SO, that said I love those two unique looking designs on those jars and would love to be apart of the giveaway! I like all your great ideas – but if I won 4 awesome jars (love the bee ones) I would have my daughters and their best friend Sara (like a daughter, lost her mom last year) to a luncheon and would fill the jars with flowers and we each would have a lovely bouquet to have for our homes. Now I don’t have a garden like yours to go cutting lovely blossoms but my peony is doing much better already and lost of buds are showing….. I transplanted to a more sunny spot once my trees got too big and were shading it too much so yay……so perhaps I’d wait till they are in bloom and use them! OR go to our trusty Trader Joes and buy affordable bouquets! Thank you for this celebratory giveaway. I am so excited.

140 years! Amazing that this company has prospered all this time, and that they continue to be innovative in their design and and even colors. This anniversary set is fun with the flowers, but my bee loving heart is attracted to the honey bee jars. I’d not seen them, so please include my name in the draw. I love to use these jars for flowers out on the sun porch and on the terrace. When we had our sailboat, I often used them for serving one dish meals or special desserts. They are so handy, and Ball Jar makes the container elegant. Happy celebrating this summer, Maruy!

GM Mary..I LOVE THIS POST! As I read thru, yet another lovely relaxing post, it has brought many many memories of life past. Ball jars have been with me for over 50 years. Started canning when I married 57 yrs ago. Received old blue Ball jars from an elder neighbor who did canning all the time. She taught me many tricks of canning the correct and safe way. Thru the years, as canning went to freezing, my collection of Ball Jars were many. Many of those collections stayed for display and yes, lots of garden flowers were displayed. Party lunches in jars and every day beverages. And of course, you have passed along thru the years that I have followed, many of wonderful ideas, recipes and lots of knowledge about Ball Jars. I thank you for that. Would I love to win either, absolutely!
