It’s been so rainy and gloomy around here that this was a nice set of pictures to look at today. I am excited that May is finally here, and the planting season only a week away. Your Cinco de Mayo tables are lovely. I could not put a Cinco de Mayo table together to save my life, despite the fact that I bought quite a few new things to use. Sometimes the inspiration just doesn’t quite hit. I am going to be trying your mini taco dips. They look exceptionally good.

HAPPY MAY DAY, dear Mary!!!! And yes, welcome to May! Today is perfect weather here in mid Ohio, too. I need to get out and enjoy it – such a rare thing to have perfect weather. Sure wish I’d have done a dessert tea or luncheon today, as it’s turned so pretty out. Too soon for any of my garden flowers – I have a break between the early daffs and forsythia. Then follows my lilacs – but we had 3 nights of freeze warnings last week just as they were about to bloom. So it stifled them a bit and the blossoms are small and not as fragrant and kinda “hurt.” I then buy some potted things to spruce up the color and season – then the peonies come. As I said in my last comment. looking like it’s going to be giving us some nice blossoms. I was so hoping it would recover from being relocated. Yay. And then then in full warmth I have a lot of hydrangeas in front – and a few in back. Need to get some nutrients on everything. That’s my next goal. I think I may go to my landscaping store and buy some things today to celebrate may Day in a personal solo way. I am mad at myself for being lazy and not planning a tea today though. Sigh.

So, again, happy May Day! Do you ever celebrate the tradition of making and giving out May Day baskets or cones with some of those amazing flowers of yours?

Those mini pecan and chocolate derby pies sound oh, so good! Every table, just absolutely lovely. Thank you Mary for your endless energy and continually presenting such delights! Happy May, the “merry ” month of May. (Song from Camelot!) 😁
