Are you feeling lucky?

Oh good, because have a sweet and salty treat that’s quick and easy to make,

just in time for St. Patrick’s Day!

This popcorn mix is a favorite ‘go-to’ treat!

The sweet and salty combination of popcorn, nuts, pretzels and candy

is addictive, making it hard to resist and a crowd-pleaser!

More of a procedure than a recipe, you can vary this mix to your taste,

changing the candy, sprinkles and quantities of ingredients.

I’ve made a festive version of this popcorn party mix to celebrate Football Season

HalloweenThanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Valentine’s Day, and New Year’s Eve

This snack mix starts with popcorn and candy coating or almond bark.

I use a ratio of 6 cups of popcorn per 16 ounce package of candy coating / almond bark,

but you can adjust the candy coating-to-popcorn ratio to your taste.

Pop your corn using your preferred method, removing any old maids (unpopped kernels) and set aside.

I prefer CandiQuik brand for the convenience of the microwave disposable tray,

but any brand of candy coating / almond bark will work.

You can find almond bark on the baking aisle near the chocolate chips.

Melt the candy coating according to the package directions,

then mix with your popcorn in a large bowl, stirring well until evenly coated.

Spread the coated popcorn on wax paper or parchment lined baking sheet(s) to set.

Add your decorative sprinkles to your popcorn while the coating is still warm and allow it to cool.

I used Wilton green and white sprinkles for a little St. Paddy’s Day color.

Once the candy coating is set, (about 15 minutes) break into pieces.

Mix in salted nuts, pretzels and candy of choice.

I used some green M&M’s and sprinkled in a leprechaun’s stash of edible gold, aka ROLOs, for luck! ☘️

Do the green M&M’s have to be special ordered?

    • March 15, 2019 at 3:44 pm

No I found them at Target a couple of weeks ago, they’re a seasonal color. Party City also sells a version of chocolate coated candy in all colors year round.
