We get about 500 Trick or Treaters, so after the dust settles I always dig out the left over Baby
Ruth bars, if we have any left over!
Good morning! My most favorite Halloween treat is a peanut butter cup. When my six siblings and I tricked or treated we always came home with loads of them. Our mom loved them too and sorted them out of the large piles of candy (and a toothbrush from the local conscientious neighbor). She claimed her right to them first!
Mary, you are so very kind and generous…..thank you so very much. I look forward to every one of your posts as you are the BEST! My favorite candy is a Snickers….could eat a bag full in one sitting! Your creativity is unending, and I enjoy reading and rereading each one of your blogs, and yes, trying my best to copy some of your suggestions. I love fall and Halloween and still decorate my home even though we live in a 55+ adult community and never have a young trick or treaters at our door….have had a few of the older ones!
I pinned a few pics on my Halloween board too love all of them!
Mary, your blog always brighten my day! What awesome wicked giveaways! I’ll keep my fingers crossed. My favorite Halloween candy is caramel apples. One of my neighbors prepared these treats every year for all the kiddos. This was back in the 1950’s! My friends loved going to the “Wilson’s” house -our first stop on Halloween night I do have to say that Clark Bars come in second as my favorite candy, yummy!
My Halloween favorite will always be caramel apples and candy apples. We make them with twigs for the “handles” and they are the cutest and so yummy. And of course, we LOVE this witchy time of year!

What a great post and wonderful giveaway! I love the spider fluid plates. Did you make them or buy them? Buckeyes are my favorites! We used to get so many homemade treats back in the 50’s. Miss those Buckeyes and home made fudge and brownies. I’m hoping to make the umbrella witch this year! Been trying to get it done since you first posted it. Every good Black Hat member should have one !! Spectacular.
I pinned the witch leg Oreos.
Thanks for the great and easy to do ideas.
Love Halloween decorations!
You have shown us so much eye candy!
My favorite candy is a nice creamy milk chocolate in general – but for Halloween it’s got to be a mixture of candy corn and salty peanuts.
A 50 degree morning temperature in NC coupled with your delightful post is just what’s needed to make me want to dust off my black hat and embrace the beautiful fall season. You really know how to put the fun in the seasons and holidays, Mary. I’m so glad you share your many talents with the Black Hat Society. Proud to be a member :).
My favorite Halloween treat is a Pay Day bar. Probably not found it treat bags due to the peanuts, but I love them.
Thank you for this opportunity to enter your generous giveaway.
While scrolling through your photos, the witches shoes with the vintage garden tools cracked me up, especially the green tool that looks like a gnarled hand reaching up. I don’t know how you think up these ideas, but I’m glad you do. That’s the one I pinned.

What a fun post! I love Reeses!!
Well it’s not a traditional Halloween treat, but I always make popcorn balls. When I was a child growing up in a small town, our favorite stop on beggars night was an older woman’s house where popcorn balls were the handout. Heaven for a young child.
I like the old fashioned peanut-looking candy. I’m probably the only person that does.
I like Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. YUM.
I meant to put in the previous comment that I also follow via email.
Thank you.

Oh my! Hard to pick a favorite! I love all things Halloween, but skulls are my favorite (so easy to give them personality.) As for my favorite treat, hersheys kisses or mini Snicker bars.
One of my favorite holidays and you make it so much more fun! Give me a Look candy bar and I am one happy witch! That white chewy nougat with peanuts coated with the contrast of the dark chocolate gets my broom dancing every time! I am a Black Hat Society Member and I pinned the composition of all your 6th Annual Black Hat Society photos because I love all of them. I do have to say I think the witches boots with the gardening tools is really clever and one of my favorites. Best witches for a happy weekend to you too!

.
I’m a simple witch and my favorite Halloween candy is Candy Corns. Love all of your witching around. I love Halloween and dress up for the occasion every year.
I pinned your Halloween poster picture to my Halloween tablescapes board. Hope I win something.
I love candy corn (only the original flavor). They are deceiving little candies and a witch can get carried away….can’t exceed the weight capacity of my broom. As always, your photos are my favorite “eye” candy :)
Halloween seems to be the kick off of the Holiday Season and has been a favorite for our family. I have a black silk cape with fringe from the turn of the century and have used it as part of my witch costume for over 40 years. I also made a witch costume for my daughter when she was 2 but she was afraid of it and only wore the cape the first year. My husband joins the fun as a zombie. Guess by now you can imagine I would love to be one of your winners. I am an email follower and have pinned the sunflower and mum arrangement to my fall decor board. Like so many of your followers candy corn is my favorite and screams HALLOWEEN 👻 🎃🕷
Such great ideas, had to share with my daughter in law. I pinned the Witch’s Umbrella. That was so cute.
My favorite is Oatmeal Raisin Cookies, just love the smell before I ever even get one bite. On halloween night, we gather with multiple families at one house so I am always looking for Mary Jane’s, BitOHoney, Caramel Cremes ( we called Moo Moos) and Peanut Butter bars.
Wonderful Halloween ideas, Mary!!! My favorite treat for this holiday is the little Milky Way candy bars. I also LOVE caramel apples rolled in pecans and chocolate chips. Thanks for the great giveaways! :)
Also, I am one of your subscribers!
Beautiful ideas as per usual, always makes me smile. Favourite Halloween candy…… mini chocolate bars, that way I never feel guilty eating one….or two….. or ? 😁
Candy Corn! Love it in small doses…I pinned your table setting (inspiring) and feel the need to decorate having seen all your pictures. Thank you!!
Caramel apples with nuts drizzled with chocolate is my fav Halloween treat!
I pinned the witches tea party – love the setting!
My all time favorite Halloween treat was a long ago neighbor, Mrs. Brown’s, popcorn balls. Back in the day (late 50’s) when I was a little girl Trick or Treating was incredible. We lived one block from a cemetery so the spook factor was a given. I always dressed as a Gypsy (probably politically incorrect now) but, it was fun. October 31st was usually a cool, crisp night. Leaves crackling under our feet, the smell of wood smoke in the air, spooky decorations on front porches, Jack-0-Lanterns everywhere, and the neighborhood sidewalks filled with excited children running from house to house. The best house was Mrs. Brown’s. Her homemade popcorn balls were delicious. Each individually wrapped in wax paper and tied with ribbon. She must have slaved for hours on all those delicious treats, and then wrapped them so sweetly for all the children who came knocking. That one special thing, aside from my love for Halloween, must have triggered the desire to always make it special. I decorate to the hilt and have for over 35 years! I enjoy putting my Halloween candy in treat bags. I still have my 50’s cloth Trick or Treat bag and sometimes I’m positive I can still smell the aroma of those popcorn balls. Halloween is the best!
Love this time of year!! Your ideas always inspire me and get me moving! I have been wanting to make the Floating Umbrella Witch since I first saw it on your blog. I think this is the year! Thank you so much for sharing your talents and wonderful ideas. HOLIDAY Season has begun.
Mary, how do you do it day after day? I think to myself, I’ll take a quick look and get on with my day. Then I get lost in your photos! Halloween is suppose to be scary and frightful. You make it fun and pretty! Love it all. Thanks for the tour.
I love all your posts but especially the Halloween ones since I am definitely a member of the black hat society. I am a subscriber and have posted on Pinterest. Caramel apples are always a fall treat.
I have pinned just about every one of your blog posts on my pinterest boards! You rock Halloween! I will always choose chocolate bars or peanut butter cups! When my kids were little I always had a Halloweenie party for our friends and their children, with gruesome looking foods that were delicious nevertheless. Everyone came in costume: we even had a “patient”and “doctor” come, complete with IV bag, drains with fake ” blood” a cast, crutches, catheter! Can you tell that my friends are nurses?
My favorite Halloween candy is the little mellow creme pumpkins. They used to come in a package mixed with other fall shapes, but I couldn’t find those last year. I loved your table scape with the beautiful fall arrangement and black and white checked cloth and pinned it.
This post was great as are all of yours! Candy Corn is my favorite Halloween Treat, I am a subscriber too! Thank you!

As for my favorite Halloween candy, that would be Brach’s candy corn. I’ve reached the addiction level that it is not allowed in the house. I picked upa bag of the individually packaged pieces thinking at least it would be a way to ration myself, but decided I best not. At least not before Octber!
Your fun gifts are generous and adorable. I’ve been a fortunate recipient of your past giveaways, so I’ll not throw my new black hat into the ring. But, Thank you! Thank you!

Just one? For dessert ~warm homemade gingerbread. For trick or treat? HeathBars for the goblins and Maida Heatter’s recipe for Heath Bar Peanut Butter Cookies for parents tops the list. Always gathering ideas from your Halloween blog posts. Spooky hugs!
My favorite halloween treat are caramel apples
I’m a subscriber and I always enjoy your tablescapes and your potting shed. My favorite is Reese’s peanut butter cups and Hershey’s miniature dark chocolate bars.
Partly because of the way it looks, my favorite Halloween candy is the traditional candy corn.
I love caramel apples! Not very witchy, I have to admit.

Reeses for every holiday- pumpkins, trees, hearts, eggs, etc. They are just better than any regular Reeses! I also pinned one of your great pics under Halloween decorations!
I’m a big fan of anything with ‘witches shoes’ for Halloween, which means I love your decor! Mary you really know how to make decorating for Halloween a lot of fun. I pinned the extra-large tea cup with the candy corn and chocolate pumpkin – I think it’s the same brand as one I have for Christmas.
My favorite treat – Reese’s pumpkins!
My favorite treat would be dark chocolate with orange or raspberry.

Always come to your blog for inspiration and just to feel good and daydream when having a not so good day! My favorite candy is Twix bars and popcorn balls! My mom always gives popcorn balls for Trick or Treat! I pinned it all! So fun!
Oh ,Mary, I have followed you for years! I am your NC neighbor and I just want to go sip tea with you every day! Hands down Reese cups are my faves but you make everything look delicious!
I have followed you for years without too many comments. You shared with me how you use bedspreads, blankets, and other items for your “table cloths”. I’ve followed your advice on how to make arrangements though mine are never as beautiful as yours. But, the shoes stuffed with pine straw has to be one of my favorites. Where did you find them and are they wearable???
Yes, Kohl’s 🧹
Ooooh, since I decorate for Mardi Gras, I am going to use your umbrella idea but decorated for this holiday. Thanks for another inspiration! I have a beautiful purple umbrella to use.
I’ve always loved the Reese’s :D
Candy corn. All the other ‘miniature’ candy can be found year round so it is not really special for me. (Oh yeah, I eat candy year round…lol). I really have to restrain myself from binging and eating an entire (regular size) bag in one evening. I will say that I also like M&Ms in the special holiday colors. So, I will usually wait to feast on those only for all the holidays during the year.
Hmm. I tried to find the way for a second entry (via email?) but I guess I can do it here? I found your site as a link that was on Tablescape Thursday by Between Naps on the Porch. I think your ideas and creativity are FABULOUS. Halloween is my FAVORITE holiday. However, as we are thinking about downsizing (you & I are probably close in age…) I had to part with some of my Halloween stash. Our 2 grown children received whatever they wanted. Now I’m left with only 1 large plastic storage bin for Halloween. The skeletons, skulls, & ravens are stored on basement shelves in shopping bags (they couldn’t fit in the bin which is used for linen and small decorations). I think it is brilliant that you kept to a single item for your theme – makes holiday decorating so much more cohesive. I wish I had thought of that. So how many decoration bins do you have?
This year, I am sad that I cannot fully celebrate the fall holidays. Our son is getting married the first weekend in December so we are all on our Wedding Diets. Ugh. No Halloween goodies. No fall harvest goodies. No Thanksgiving goodies. The menus are now restrained. We’ve always eaten healthy but none of us are splurging.
Oh yes, by-the-way, I have added your collage photo to my Pinterest file dedicated to Halloween.
This post is eye candy! beautiful colors and decorations. Reese’s is my favorite.
