If you’re visiting from Rita at Panopy, welcome!

I love how Rita blends new items with her vintage finds in her tablescapes.

If you’re not familiar with the expression, Erin go Bragh, it’s an

Anglicization of Éire go Brách, literally meaning “Ireland until the end of time.”

The modern day accepted translation of Erin go Bragh is “Ireland forever.”

My inspiration for my St. Patrick’s Day-themed table came from

an assortment of vintage St. Patrick’s Day postcards

and a shamrock embroidered runner.

I’ve always loved vintage postcards that have survived through the years. . .

oh the stories they could tell!

I picked up the postcards at an antique mall for a couple of dollars each . . .

the oldest with a post mark of 1911, addressed to ‘Mary’. ☘️

An ironstone pitcher is filled with green and white flowers for a centerpiece,

recycled from my Monday Morning Blooms arrangement. . .

alstroemeria, mums, (both white and green, big and small),

green carnations and white hydrangeas.

I used clear floral tape for two shallow cabbage leaf bowls,

taping off a grid pattern to support the flower stems.

Make sure the surface of your vase or bowl is dry before you apply your tape,

then fill with water.

Ireland is a land that boasts 40 shades of green, so

 I dressed the table with a multi-hued plaid cloth. . .

Seeded glass goblets have the appearance of watery bubbles,

and seemed fitting for a table to celebrate the Emerald Isle.

Mary, you have an amazing table setting! The cabbage leaf plates remind me of my great aunt, she had a set which I admired from afar for many years. I love vintage cards and postcards and enjoy reading the sentiments on the back wondering who the person was and who they were sending them to. Thank you so much for sharing your inspiration!

Mary, I love all of the vintage touches- the post cards are a delight! And to find one addressed to Mary is a treasure!! They are set off beautifully with your cabbage plates and shamrock runner. Your flowers always impress!! Have a fun St. Patrick’s Day and May the Lucy of the Irish be with you!!☘️

You truly have been blessed with the gift of creating! You are my inspiration when I make a table – never could I come close, but I enjoy it nevertheless! One thing that has been haunting me and I cannot find – a little off season I might add – are the “snowy goblets from Kohl’s” you have used in many a gorgeous Christmas tablescape. Do you have any idea where to find them or the brand? I have searched for a while since I first saw them grace your tables, but have come up empty. Thank you for any clues to find some!!!! :)

    • March 10, 2023 at 8:46 am

Thank you for your kind comment! The ‘snowy goblets’ weren’t marked with a brand name but I just did a search for white goblets and ‘Amici Home Carmen’ turned up. Amazon has some stemless wine glasses. Hiball, DOF and margarita glasses are available but I don’t see the stemmed wine goblets.

Mary, first a confession — I am green with envy of all your fabulous Irish inspired tableware and linens! My goodness, you even have green handle flatware! It all comes together so festively, like reaching the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow lol! Most of all, I adore the vintage Irish postcards you found. How wonderful! I have the letter my French great-grandmere received from her sister (living in England as a refugee) during WWI. Although somewhat heart-breaking to read, I treasure it. That letter led me to discover the rest of my grandmere’s siblings and where she was born. A very happy St. Patrick’s Day Mary, would love to have a set at your table.

The plaid tablecloth is the perfect one for St. Patrick’s Day. The centerpiece is so cute. Enjoy your weekend. Clara❤️

Mary, no question every tablescape you present to us offers immense joy and inspiration for our own tables. Thank you! I love your wonderful postcard collection. I have a few, and always on the watch for more. The graphics and sentiment of a hand written note always catch me eye. I also like the quotes your intersperse in your text. I’ve followed you for a decade, yet each post is exciting, fresh with gorgeous images and new ideas to inspire.
I feel lucky to have you in my life!

Beautiful. I love the vintage postcards and when I find them at an antique mall, it is fun to read the message. Love your table and the Irish greetings. Who doesn’t love green? The table runner is charming. Your table is always inspiring.

Anyone who’s lucky enough to know you is lucky enough to have been inspired by your content, especially tablescapes, more than once! Not only do you combine beautiful elements on your tables, but you consistently offer up florals, recipes, treats found and vintage goodies too. I love your postcard springboard, and that one with the top hat is a favorite, eye-catching one today. I thought those cookies were home baked, so it’s great to know they can be bought! Love all the pattern and color play used here too, Mary. Thank you for always inspiring. I’m happy to be in your company on this hop! Erin go bragh!

Mary, I love the vintage postcards and finding one dating from 1911 is amazing! Your table is beautiful, as always. You are definitely an inspiration with every post you give us. Our visit to Ireland has been a highlight of our travels. All of the shades of green are unbelievable 💚☘️💚

What a lovely tablescape! I love the look of vintage postcards as well. When I find very old ones, I’m not only struck by the image on the postcard, but also the way that everyone at the time wrote. Many of them seemed poetic without even trying (like the amazing letters written home by Civil War soldiers), and they had many fewer years of “formal education” than people do today. The difference between those young people and those of today is striking. I love the look of the cabbage plates and getting to see all of the different ways everyone is styling them. It’s been great hopping with you today!

    Congratulations to the winners!

Mary, your tables are always gorgeous and you have such a knack for bringing different items together so beautifully! Your flowers are always gorgeous as well. The vintage postcards are definitely a great find and provided a wonderful theme for the table. Love all the greens. I popped over to the link you sent and your fairy is absolutely stunning as was that table. It was great hopping with you and wishing you a wonderful St. Patrick’s day!

Ahhhh Mary, what a feast for the eyes!! I love it all, but as a vintage lover those antique postcards are my fave, along with the shamrock shortbread “biscuits” and package. You’re are an artist indeed. Your tables are always magical! And I’ve been using scotch tape so I need to find some florists tape for making the grid. Happy St. Paddy’s Day!!

  18. March 11, 2023 at 9:12 am
