Join me on the porch for some shamrocks and shenanigans
with St. Patrick’s Day two days away!

According to folklore, wearing green on St. Patrick’s Day makes you ‘pinch proof’
and safe from mischievous leprechauns,
so we’re surrounding ourselves with green and shamrocks!

We’re enjoying Irish Breakfast Tea from our Belleek Irish Cottage Teapot,
served on a Belleek Shamrock Cake Stand.

A mini castle-shaped Belleek vase with a crenellated top is blooming
with Daffodils in a celebration of spring and St. Patrick’s Day. . .

A wee bit of Belleek Pottery history:
Established in 1857, Belleek Pottery is located in the quaint village of Belleek in County Fermanagh,
on the banks of the River Erne, and is the oldest craft pottery in Ireland.
Each piece of fine Parian ware is an original piece of Irish craftsmanship,
using materials and techniques handed down through the generations.
With more than 100,000 pieces of pottery produced annually, each piece
passes through 16 pairs of hands before it receives the famous Belleek trademark,
ensuring its authenticity and quality, as any piece with the slightest flaw is destroyed.

Help yourself to a sweet shamrock, Clare’s Irish Chocolate Chip Shortbread!

Baked in the countryside of County Antrim with a recipe handed down through generations of bakers,
this shamrock-shaped Irish shortbread is made with authentic
Ballyrashane Irish butter and milk chocolate chips.

A perfect treat to enjoy with tea!

Shamrock shaped plates by Grace Teaware are served up on
Bordallo Pinheiro cabbage leaf plates. . .

Your girls are so precious! I love them. Thanks for the bit of Beleek history. I love Beleek and have collected a few pieces over the years. I really enjoy your blog, Mary.
The girls are absolutely precious! Green is my favorite color. The Beleek history is interesting. Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Clara❤️
Dear Mary, do you have any idea how awesome it would be to sit right there with your sweet furry girls and enjoy that breakfast tea with you? My heart and soul leapt for joy when I opened your post today. It is perfect in every way.
So adorable! You are safely pinch proof! My granddaughter got a new black and green leotard for gymnastics on Monday. It has one green sleeve and she was quick to show me and tell me she won’t get pinched now! ☘️
While the entire post was beautiful my favorite is Lola & Sophie! They sure put a smile on a person’s face!!! HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY!!! 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀
Awwww such a darling St. Patrick’s Day post, Mary. I wish I could join you for tea and treats. Lola and Sophie look festive in their headbands and then I guess one had had enough! 💚☘️💚
Mary, I love the St. Patrick’s Day setting on the porch. Can you believe I don’t have any pieces of Belleek! I don’t know why because I love it. I will be wearing the green, so I will be pinch proof. The girls are adorable.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day ☘️💚☘️
Love the Irish china. I think it is Sophie who abandoned her green crown, totally understand it is hard to be regal for long. Sweet post.
What a lovely setting for an Irish Tea! I am in love with your Belleek Irish Cottage Teapot. I will be searching for one. Until then I will join you, Lola and Sophie on the front porch for tea.
Your Belleek pieces are gorgeous! But Lola and Sophie are the true show stealers. I just love when you share your girls with us. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Mary, what a lovely porch setting. The Belleek China pieces are so pretty. I have just a few that I pull out for St Patrick’s day. But loving green like I do, I need to use it more often.
Your puppies are so sweet and look like they really enjoy the porch life too!
Happy St Patrick’s Day!
Mary, your porch setting is lovely and the pups are adorable. I liked reading about the history of Belleek pottery and I did not know about the “pinch-proof” lore. I’m happy that I’m wearing green today! Happy St. Patrick’s day to you!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day, Mary! This is delightful, and Sophie and Lola are as adorable as always. Love their headbands! Loving all the pretty Belleek and shamrock pieces from Grace Teaware. Our first pieces of Belleek were a wedding gift. I din’t appreciate them at the time, but now have added several more pieces when I find them out thrifting. They are so delicate and beautifully made. Thanks for sharing the history.
