Oh My Stars & Stripes! A Patriotic Table for Summer Celebrations
Happy Tuesday!
Nothing says summer quite like red, white, and blue! With America’s 250th birthday on the horizon, I couldn’t resist setting a table dressed in stars, stripes, and plenty of patriotic sparkle for our Summer Tablescape Blog Hop.
Whether you’re gathering for Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, or simply celebrating a beautiful summer evening with family and friends, this festive table is ready for a star-spangled celebration. You’ll find my blogging friends links and summer table inspiration at the bottom of this post.

A Layered Foundation of Stars and Stripes
I started with a classic red, white, and blue Ralph Lauren paisley tablecloth and layered a bold stars and stripes runner down the center of the table. The combination of pattern-on-pattern adds plenty of patriotic personality while creating a colorful backdrop for summer entertaining.
The runner also helps draw the eye to the centerpiece and creates a festive pathway for all the stars and stripes details scattered throughout the table.

Ball® Americana Keepsake Mason Jars Add a Patriotic Touch
One of my favorite details on this table are Limited-Edition Ball® Americana Keepsake Mason Jars. Created in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, these special jars feature an embossed raised star design and coordinating star lid.

The jars hold a stars and stripes paper straw and a packet of sparklers at each place setting, ready for guests to enjoy as the sun sets. They’re perfect for serving a refreshing glass of Land of the Free Lemonade or Red, White and Blue Sangria on a warm summer day or evening.

Simple, practical, and festive—they’re the perfect patriotic accessory for summer entertaining.
Stars, Stripes and Patriotic Layers

For the place settings, Stars & American Flags plates are layered atop white carved wood chargers and blue woven placemats for texture and contrast.

Broad stripes and bright stars napkins are tucked into beaded American flag napkin rings, adding another layer of patriotic charm. American flag-handled flatware joins the celebration and reinforces the red, white, and blue theme.

The combination of stars, stripes, flags, and classic Americana colors creates a table that feels festive without being overly formal—perfect for casual summer gatherings.
Red, White and Blue Blooms
An ironstone pitcher serves as the centerpiece, overflowing with a cheerful mix of red alstroemeria, white hydrangeas, and blue hydrangeas.
Small American flags wave among the blooms while glittered stars and festive red and white picks add sparkle and movement. The arrangement is simple, colorful, and easy to recreate using grocery store flowers and a few patriotic embellishments. A classic white ironstone pitcher keeps the arrangement feeling timeless while allowing the vibrant colors of the flowers to take center stage.
Sweet Summer Celebrations
No patriotic gathering is complete without a sweet treat!

Red velvet cupcakes topped with cream cheese frosting and a shower of red, white, and blue sprinkles are served on star-shaped stars and stripes plates. For a little extra fun, each cupcake is crowned with a sparkler.

Light the sparkler, make a wish, and celebrate America’s 250th birthday in sparkling style for
a simple dessert that adds whimsy and a touch of childhood nostalgia to the table.🎆

Wishing You a Star-Spangled Summer
From sparkling cupcakes and patriotic blooms to stars-and-stripes details at every place setting, this “Oh My Stars & Stripes” table is ready for summer celebrations with family and friends. Whether you’re hosting a backyard barbecue, lakeside gathering, or festive holiday dinner, a few red, white, and blue touches can transform an ordinary meal into a memorable celebration.

Here’s to sunny days, sweet summer memories, and celebrating the land of the free and the home of the brave!
Happy 250th Birthday, America!

Oh Mary, what a perfectly patriotic table to celebrate America’s 250th birthday! The layering of the runner over the paisley tablecloth set such a beautiful stage for your patriotic dishes and flatware. The simple (for you 😊!) centerpiece is stunning with your choice of flowers. I’d love a red velvet cupcake before I leave. Thank you for the inspiration ❤️ 🇺🇸 💙
Mary your red white and blue table is lovely. I had to smile because I have almost all your elements for your table in my stash so I could replicate your table easily although I do not have the Americana Mason ball jars. So thank you for the inspiration of yet another way to set the table. I also like the simplicity of your centerpiece and I have had to learn over the years that less is more…sometimes! Your table stack is perfect and you photograph it so beautifully. Thanks for all your red, white and blue recipes, one can never have enough when celebrating 250 years. God Bless America! Have a great and wonderful day.
Fun and festive! This patriotic table is perfect for our 250th celebration. I adore your flatware and centerpiece as well as the star plates. Cute idea to light the sparkler in your cupcake!
Mary, your accumulation of past and present patriotic flourishes provides a great cache to choose from and layer so beautifully! The RL paisley is certainly a classic worth repeating, and the newer salad plates are very nice! (A friend gifted me an HL gift card for my birthday and its burning a hole in my wallet, lol). Those blood red alstromeria make for a very rich centerpiece. I love all the festive touches for each place setting, with Ball jars and the cupcakes. It really does all add up to an invitation for a fun and casual event.
Thank you so much for participating with such great enthusiasm for each and every tablescaling event, Mary!
If there ever was or is a year to celebrate our Independence, this is the year!! I have just finished decorating everything but my porch, which is next. Hobby Lobby’s decor went on sale yesterday and I was there as the doors opened! Your tables are beautiful and always an inspiration! HAPPY 4th of July to you and all that read this!!! GOD HAS TRULY BLESSED OUR COUNTRY!!! 💥🇺🇸♥️🗽🧨💥🇺🇸♥️🎂🧨🗽
Mary, your table is magnificent! I am always blown away by the amount of tableware that you have down to the most unique accessories. Honestly, I think if someone would be hosting a dinner at a public hanging that you would have appropriate pieces to make a grand table. I don’t know what to comment on first here. My eyes are always drawn to your centerpieces that never fail to be beautifully constructed. I particularly like those little curly things that you have coming out of the vase. I love the star shaped plates, the flatware is wonderful, (I’ve never seen flatware with the American flag on it before.) the napkin rings are just perfect, everything is just so festive and patriotic.
Love it!! I feel like I should have some patriotic music blaring as I read your post, it is that vibrant!! I adore the paisley tablecloth with the striped runner. I had those Hobby Lobby plates in my hand, but then said no because I already had plates I had planned to use. I love the way you styled them!! The flag flatware is such a fabulous addition! That photo of the cupcake with the sparkler is what sent me over the top!!! 🇺🇸💙❤️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Mary, every detail makes my heart sing! You know my heart beats red, white, and blue all summer long, and this table has it singing loudly. Love the bold runner atop the paisley RL linen, and the stack of dishes. I splurged on the Hobby Lobby dishes myself. I’ve yet to set a table with them, but soon. Of course your knew about the limited edition Ball jars for the occasion. Thanks for the link. I’ll be ordering a set! Thanks too, for all the recipes, the floral ideas, and your constant flow of inspiration that you always provide. I’ll be pinning lots of ideas to my patriotic board. Your table definitely honors the occasion of the 250th anniversary. Love the sparkler on the cupcake. Perfect! Happy Birthday, America!
Love it all. A festive display of our country”s colors. Flag day is around the corner.
Mary, truly a beautiful way to celebrate America’s 250th celebration. The paisley RL linen is lovely with your striped table runner. Love the plates, so patriotic. Darling flag napkin rings. Good Morning Mary. What a fabulous table set in your dining room. I enjoyed seeing your lake in the background in one of your pictures. 🥰 Your centerpiece with the pops of red alstromeria is quite stunning.
I love the runner going down the center on your RL paisley table cloth. And how about those new plates from Hobby Lobby? How festive! Oh and of course I enjoyed the festive ball jars. They are darling. I also enjoyed the flag napkin rings. How fun!
I wish I had that cupcake right now! Yum!

Hi Mary, the RL paisley tablecloth and the bold stars and stripes runner creates the perfect foundation to celebrate America’s 250th birthday🇺🇸 How charming are the Americana Keepsake Mason Jars holding stars and stripes straws and sparklers. That is a great idea and a fun accessory for your patriotic table. I talked myself out of the HL Stars and American Flags plates, I should have bought them! They are perfect for your table along with the napkins and the American flag-handled flatware. The floral centerpiece is beautiful! My grands would love the red velvet cupcakes topped with a sparkler.
It is always a treat to join you at one of your fabulous tables, especially one celebrating America’s 250th birthday 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙
You have such a lovely eye for detail, Mary. Your tribute to America’s birthday is filled with some great reminders of America all grounded in the colors red, white and blue. ou centerpiece in the simple white vase is beautiful. The red, white and blue flowers are just lovely and look beautiful on your table.
The runner works so well with you plates and flowers and make the table a perfect setting to celebrate the Fourth. Put a sparkler in the cupcake dessert made me smile. I remember running around the neighborhood with friends while all of us had sparklers to light our way. Thanks for the reminder of perfect summer celebrations.
Lynne, Thrifting Wonderland
What an incredible way to celebrate your countries 250th! I LOVE those Ball jars, so fun and festive. I love the little details like the sparklers and patriotic straw tucked inside each jar. The centrepiece is gorgeous, and I love the stoneware pitcher you have arranged it in! Each place setting is so eye catching, and I love the way you layer the different textures with the detailed carvings on the edge of the chargers against the blue wicker placemats, and of course the patriotic flag plates! Youngston/Lewiston, NY is right across the Niagara River from us, so no doubt we might be able to share in some of the 250th celebrations if they have fireworks at old Fort Niagara!
Hi Mary,
Your beautiful and festive table is perfect for our 250th year Celebration. I love all your extra special touches that brings the table to life. I will be looking for those Ball Jars. I have made your red, white, & blue salsa twice this season. The girls I work with devoured it! Wishing you a fantastic 4th of July!
Kathy
Mary, what a fun and festive table – perfect for all your patriotic holidays, but especially to celebrate the 250th milestone birthday! The RL tablecloth is so classy and the stars and stripes tablerunner is a wonderful foundation for your beautiful red, white, and blue flower arrangement. I love the addition of the flags and the curly bows. You must have been thrilled with the limited edition ball jars to add to your collection. The patriotic plates are so cheerful and I’m sure the red velvet cupcakes with sprinkles and sparklers would be enjoyed by kids and adults alike. I love love the pretty and festive napkins and napkin rings. It is always a treat to have a virtual seat at one of your beautiful tables and happy upcoming July 4th!!
Mary, your table is so festive and patriotic! First of all, I love your header: It’s making me smile tonight! I also love the paisley tablecloth. The sparklers add a whimsical touch, and I love the photograph of the sparkler in the cupcake. Happy summer and Independence Day 250!
Mary, I’ve long admired your ability to create stunning centerpieces with the most readily available flowers. The intensity of the alstromeria blooms are matched by the vibrant white hydrangeas. I like how the little extras in the arrangement pop against the flowers. The pitcher has a wonderful shape and appears sturdy; it almost suggests that it will be around for the next 250 years. The runner, plates, napkins and flatware all add to the festivities throughout the summer. And I just might try my hand at patriotic treats this year! Happy Fourth!
Mary, what wonderful ideas for our country’s 250th celebration! I always check my saved pins from your blog before a party! I make the little treat cones every holiday and many of your recipes are family favorites now.
Thank you for all you do and for sharing such gorgeous table settings.
