Birds of a Feather

I’m joining Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday.

Thank you, Susan, for hosting such a fun event & providing dishaholics everywhere with a weekly fix ~

My inspiration this week came from a new bird dinner plate, bowl and oversized mug I found at Home Goods a couple of weeks ago.

I have a weakness for anything bird related. . .

This oversized mug would be great for soup or a your Venti size coffee :-)

Only one plate was available when I was there, but I didn’t let that stop me :-)

And a new nest I acquired after the previous occupants were finished with it. . .

They left it for me as a token of their appreciation, since they no longer needed it~

I gingerly watered their nest site~a pot on my porch~  trying to balance the amount of water~enough to prevent the plants from dying so they continued to provide  a camouflaging shelter, but not so much that I would drown these baby birds.

It was a tedious, nerve-racking task for a couple of weeks. . .

I’m happy to report they survived and developed a fondness for porches. . .

Their parting message was. . .

“For more tablescape fun, be sure to visit the Porch~”

We’ve had the same sort of flower-pot rental agreement with a mother bird – and you’re so right about gingerly watering and caring for plant and nest.
    Lovely mug and plate.

    M,

The baby birds are saying so much with their singing & talking, how great to have them on your porch. Also, I think I have to get myself over to Home Goods for a refreshing new dish or two. Love that bird plate & mug.

This is beautiful. I love the china, the birdhouses and everything you put with it. I have a rustic chair (much like your bench) on my porch. It is green now but I’ve been thinking of painting it white…your post convinced me. I loved my visit.
