C is for Chairs

C is for Chairs

This week’s letter assignment is the letter C.

We spend a lot of time sitting in our chairs at the lake. You may not be aware, but there is a fine art to “Chair-Sitting”. It involves:  Stare at the Water and Clouds. Read a Little. Sip on a Drink. Watch the Purple Martins. Hold a Dog in your Lap. Listen to Music. Discuss Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

 Just Sloooow Down.

Because we use our chairs a lot, I’ve always been conscious of chairs, some placed for function, some seemingly decorative only~ curious about where people sit & how often. I thought I’d take you on a quick chair tour and share some we’ve run across in our boating on the lake.

First up, Red Chairs~

I always enjoy seeing signs of activity~ evidence that people are enjoying the lake~

I love that no one is afraid of color that lives here :-)

These chairs were lined up like theatre seats for a 4th of July fireworks display. . .

Someone very tidy lives here. . .

I took this photo and didn’t realize these chairs were fish at the time, until I transferred my photos :-)

I’m joining A Southern Daydreamer for Outdoor Wednesday &

Jenny Matlock’s Aphabe-Thursday for Alphabet Fun.

Thanks for your visit~ you’re welcome to have a seat anytime :-)

LOVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVE all the chairs! My favorite are the red ones, but I was surprised at all the different takes on that ‘Adirondack’ style of chair.

There’s a drawing on my Wed post you might enjoy.

what a lot of chairs! I love to sit and read and sip….One of those chairs looked like it had a C in it!

  25. October 7, 2010 at 8:59 am

I find it really interesting how the chairs seem to take on their own personalities as you talk about them. It’s as if they’re not really chairs but beings who are lounging there by the water and enjoying the nice day :) Great photos!

  26. October 7, 2010 at 10:00 am

I have some yellow chairs on my deck that serve the same purpose! I love your description of chair sitting, read a little, sip a little, chat a little! LOL…

I do the same thing every chance I get…

  27. October 7, 2010 at 12:19 pm

Wish I were sitting in any one of those chairs! Or all of them, by turns…

    =)

  28. October 7, 2010 at 10:46 pm

I love chairs too. I am a chair sitter from way back. I even have two wonderful black rocking chairs on my front porch from which I watch the world go by. Love those Adirondack chairs. My dad made each one of girls our very own Adirondack chair when I was a little girl. He painted each one a different color. Thanks for reminding me! ~Ames
