I dressed the Potting Shed window boxes for winter with greenery and snowflakes!
My window boxes looked a little bare and in need of decoration after I removed the red ornaments from Christmas.
I found snowflake marquee lights during a flurry of shopping in December, on sale at Target.
I placed them in the center of the winter boxes to twinkle among the greenery. . .
And propped them against a grapevine wreath to hold them upright and added a spray of icy branches.
They came with a 4 hour timer to turn on and glow.
We have snowflakes in our forecast this weekend. . .
And while I look forward a little winter snowfall, I’d prefer it not be mixed with freezing rain they’re calling for.

I love your shed all year! Yes would love to have one . We are getting from 4 to 8 inches of snow this week end ! Pretty but no fun when you can’t get out. 😞. Stay Warm
I Love your winter boxes, Mary. I did a similar arrangement in my black urn. I switched out my Christmas ornaments and placed a snowman marquee that I found at Old time Pottery after Christmas. It also lights up on a timer. I’ve had many compliments from my neighbors. I’m sure you’ve too. It’s perfect for the winter weather we’ve been having on the east coast of Florida. Enjoy your snow and stay cozy warm!

**sigh**…how I would LOVE to see some snow but alas here in Deep South, it’s not meant to be. EVER. 2 days ago I had shorts on and the air conditioner was cranked up. Not complaining about sunshine and warm temps in January but oh how I would have fun in some snow !!

Oh Mary, those snowflakes surrounded by the wintry greens and propped with an icy grapevine wreath are the perfect touch to your window boxes. I’m going to look for those next year at Target, or check online! We haven’t had snow yet this year in the Dallas area, but we could!

There is no snow on the Island, and there isn’t likely to be any. The window boxes are very pretty – I particularly like the marquee light snow flake and the way it refers to the steel roof. Very nice!

I love snowflakes…in planter boxes!! Gaaa…we’re predicted to get 24 inches of snow mixed with sleet…soups on and generator ready. Not feeling very confident right now after seeing people stuck in traffic 6+ hours…going to stick my head under the….covers!! franki
Love the Red boxes and the greenery – so seasonal. At Home (was Garden Ridge) in Pineville, NC is having a 75% clearance off their Christmas stuff and they still have tons of garland and floral items left. I was able to get quite a few things there this past Monday.

Those window boxes are pretty with the greenery and lighted snowflakes. I guess we will be getting ice instead of snow where I live here in NC. I don’t like ice at all!! I love to see snow falling as long as it melts. I too decorated my garden shed with snowflakes, snowballs, and snowmen for the winter. I would love to send you a picture but where do I send? I love looking at your pictures, you decorate so pretty.

That’s very NEATO—we have had snow and ice and frigid temps–and the green on my porch is still peppered with red lights–cause it’s too cold to remove them. Very nice—on you sweet shed! Sandi

You are going to have a lot of fun with those marquee snowflakes Mary! I love that they come with a timer!! Your little shed is practically strutting with pride! I think it’s so much fun to keep sparkly lights going thru the dreary winter. Birmingham is supposed to get snow tomorrow too, so I hightailed it South this am :) I hope you have a fun snow and not a dangerous event with ice and power outages-

Love your pretty window boxes with the Marquee snowflakes. Our area here in Virginia is in the blizzard zone and expected to get 18-24 inches of snow by tomorrow evening. May you, your husband and the girls stay safe. Ice is worse than snow.

Hi Mary, Your snowflakes must be beautiful shining in the boxes at night! I put silvery stars in my outdoor planters after I removed the red balls and holly sprigs this year. Our little white lights on the trees stay lit through February but those snowflakes would have been perfect in my back deck planters! Hope you are staying warm. Linda

Well done! This looks amazing. We did ours when we first moved in 6 years ago but we took them off but now I don’t like the colour so not having to take them off makes it much easier!
