A Visit From St. Nicholas Christmas Table

dsc_8401-1-002

A Christmas table for two, I set by the tree,

The lights all aglow, the twinkle to see.

dsc_8417-001

Vases of fruit, with greenery and tartan,

Make a festive foundation and setting to hearten.

dsc_8342-1-001

St. Nicholas Fitz and Floyd, received as a bride in the eighties,

Returns annually to our table for all Christmas gaieties.

dsc_8455-001

Silver chargers are lined, with sprigs of Leyland cypress,

Beaded garland is then layered, providing some brightness.

dsc_8478-1-001

Apples, oranges and cranberries, join nuts to fill vases,

And stay on my table, and keeping their places.

dsc_8393-001

Several weeks they will last, some beauty they add,

Easily gathered and placed, pairing with plaid.

dsc_8477-1-001

The plates show St. Nick decorating the tree~

His fondness for musical sounds, you can see.

dsc_8692-1-001

Drums, horns, as well as bells too,

Are placed on the tree all in plain view.

dsc_8423-1-001

Red garland is swagged and placed carefully,

Candles cast a warm glow, illuminating the tree.

dsc_8685-1-001

A candy cane here, a star placed there,

A reindeer helper is doing his share.

dsc_8678-1-002

The stump of Nick’s pipe is lit you can see,

By evidence of smoke rising next to the tree.

dsc_8676-1-001

More reindeer arrive, which ones I don’t know,

Maybe Dasher? or Dancer?  Raring to go!

dsc_8325-001

Prancer? or Vixen? I don’t know their names. . .

Ready to join in Christmas reindeer games.

dsc_8420-1-002

The glass how it twinkles, reflections how merry,

Red votives, a shade between roses and cherry.

dsc_8390-001

The mice are not stirring, they’re sleeping instead~

The shaker set holder, a shoe for their bed.

dsc_8473-001

Silver Reindeer-Sleigh Napkin Rings deliver more plaid,

Arriving from last week’s table, a view HERE to be had.

dsc_8392-001

dsc_8385-1-001

If I don’t see you again before Christmas Day,

May all your wishes & dreams be delivered by sleigh!
