Happy Monday! It’s the third Monday of the month which means I’m joining my blogging friends for some flower therapy and Monday Morning Blooms. I know I find myself in need of some flower therapy these days and my hope is these flowers will help brighten your day too. ♥

For this week’s edition of Monday Morning Blooms, we had an ‘anything goes’ floral theme, as flowers are a little harder to come by these days with fewer trips to the store while we’re sheltering at home.
I cut some blooms from the garden to make some Ball Jar Bouquets and brighten up a window shelf in the Potting Shed.
Bridal Wreath Spirea and Snowball Viburnum have been blooming for a couple of weeks now. . .
I have a ‘thing’ for jars and pulled some out vintage mason jars to hold the blooms.
Blue and white pieces of transferware join the jars for a blooming vignette on the window shelf . . .
Pieces collected over time, a little shabby and time worn . . .
I cut the last of the Lenten Roses that bloomed in February, most of the blooms gone to seed and with seed pods.
Blooms past their prime and a little shabby but perfectly imperfect to pair with transferware pieces with crazing and chips. . .
Tureens with missing lids and orphaned sugar bowl lids.
Blue and white vintage-inspired floral plates were a Pottery Barn find several years ago. . .
And hang on shutters to add some additional blooms.

Oh Mary…I have always admired your gorgeous Snowball Viburnum so much that one of the very first things that I bought for the new yard was just that and I bet you could have heard me squeal when the bush that was just a bouquet of bare branches started to bloom! It is by the driveway so you can see it when you drive in and within eye shot to when looking out the front door…everything you do in the Potting Shed is a delight. I love the way you curated those beautiful dishes and never forgetting the beautiful orphans. I am so happy that you have the joy of working in your yard and Potting Shed in these times and just enjoying your beautiful surroundings…enjoy the “bird chirping weather” (I love to hear the birds while drinking my coffee) and yes, this “storm” shall pass. Mary, a visit inside your potting shed is a great way to start the morning. Your snowball viburnum, bridal wreath spirea, and Lenten roses dress up the beautiful leaded window with all the best of spring. My snowball viburnum and bridal wreath spirea are spent, I am always sad to see the beautiful blooms fall to the ground. The dishes are the perfect accompaniment to the Mason jar arrangements. Gardening has been the best therapy during sheltering at home, I think I would have been stir crazy by now if it had not been for weeding, sowing, and planting. I’ve just moved to Florida, clear across the country from California. I’ve grown natives in my northern Cali suburban yard. Western Red Bud, Manzanita, California Poppies (by the millions) Redwoods and ceanothus.
I need your help in planning a garden here in Central Florida! There are azaleas. Massive old Live Oaks covered in Resurrection Fern. Such a fascinating plant. I’ve visions of hydrangeas and gardenia. You’ve reminded me of bridal wreath…my mother grew it. And now I want one or two. And a big snowball bush to make lovely calming white and green arrangements!
AND, there is a shed! Kinda creepy now with massive wasps cities and a wood spider who terrified my daughter and me. Your gorgeous shed has me planning ahead to a safe and fun place to Potter about!
Cheers from the one tea mug I’ve wrestled out of a box! Ta for now…..

Mary, that is just stunning. The all white flowers in all the beautiful variations of blue vases is both elegant and happy! My snowball viburnum outdid itself until storms came through Clemson. My two bridal wreaths (planted nearby) used to bloom prolifically but now only has a few blooms. I’m thinking it has gotten too shady. I sure enjoyed seeing yours!

Wonderful eye candy and flower therapy Mary! I have pinned some photos that I want to capture with my paint brush 🎨 There is never a shortage of blooms in your garden, and the combo of white blooms with blue Ball jars is magical.

BE STILL MY HEART!!! A BLOOM in those garden shears !! Oh YES! I couldn’t even see the rest …Going right this minute to open the shears on my potting bench …and add a bloom . Even before my coffee. TOTAL DELIGHT!!
Oh how I love all your blue transferware, blue is my favorite color and your snowball bush, makes me want to plant one this spring. I was feeling a little down this morning, but now after seeing all this , it makes me happy
Snowball envy! I’m going to rush over and look at my dozen plants 6″ high after 2 years and howl at the sun! I LOVE white flowers, they stand out the most from a distance, calming , reassuring all is well in the world with their serene beauty… One year mine will learn to grow, until then I can mutter about, kick the dirt and think of your pretty little blue and white vignette! Ok, I shouldn’t be complaining, this year is the most COLOR I have seen since we moved, and that makes my heart soar daily!
A beautiful vignette Mary! The blue and white theme is so soothing and peaceful. Your blooms are so healthy and full. We’ve been blessed with wonderful Spring weather and the birds are indeed chirping! We sit on the porch and listen to them in the mornings and watch the deer in the early evening graze as well. Just finished transplanting bulbs from my Mom’s house. Also, was able to cut some various hedge rose blooms which have a glorious sweet smell before the rain yesterday. Thanks for the morning pick-me-up! I love the beautiful blue and white china with the white viburnum. I’ve had white hydrangeas for years but will have to hit the garden center, once we’re able, to purchase a viburnum. Your posts are always so inspiring and spirit lifting!

I’m just remembering that the “fence” that separated our yard from the neighbors in my childhood home was a row of bridal wreath spirea. Thanks for sparking the memory!

So beautiful, Mary! I hope you fair well from the storms. We had a tornado warning around 11:30 last night that sent us to our safe place. Thankfully it was an extremely fast-moving storm and it passed us quickly. Thankful for radar so we knew where it was.
I am enjoying your post today as I love snowballs, bridal wreath, and hellebores. I can’t wait for mine to be fruitful enough to cut and enjoy. My bridal wreath is all gone now. I was trimming and pruning the bridal wreath as you suggested and I discovered a cardinal nest with baby birds so I stopped trimming. Two days later the birds were gone! 😥I was very sad! Not sure what happened. We had the storm last Sunday and it was Monday when I checked.

The Snowball V. reminds me of my “garden obsessed grandmothers.
Hers was in the front yard, huge and show-ie just like your beauty.
People walking, cars even stopped to compliment her on it.
After her stroke her home was sold. Sadly, new the owners wanted
Low Maintenance grounds…they got it! Removed everything, Roses,
Camellia’s, Fuchsias, Gardenia etc. the Snowball bush was first to go.
I was young, but would guess they didn’t make a lot of friends right off!

Let me make a list of everything I love about this post. The blue and white. That amazing viburnum! Your potting shed. Using mix and match vessels with missing lids for your flowers. The gardening gloves. I would just disappear for hours out there! Hanging plates on the shutters. The shelf over the window…all just 💙!

Mary, I’m a little late coming around but am delighted to see your beautiful white blooms displayed so prettily with the ball jars and blue transferware. I have something blooming near our garden that has white blooms with a heavenly scent that I can’t identify. It was something that we transplanted from another place in the yard and it has transformed into a tree. Leo brought some blooms from it inside yesterday.
So pretty Mary, always love seeing the potting shed. She looks like she is ready to have a wedding in there with all the lovely white and blue. LOVE the picture of the white bush by the water, pinned it. ♥️
Thanks Mary for brightening my dark and rainy morning here in Greensboro. My Viburnums have been beautiful this year. I have several varieties. Wondered if you have any tips on using them as cut flowers. Do you crush the stems like hydrangeas? I realized that the majority of my flowering shrubs have white flowers. Thinking of making a sign saying White Flower Acres to hang out in the garden. Good project to occupy some time while isolating! Stay well Kathy
