I am a cake girl. My favorite cakes to bake are yellow cake with homemade chocolate fudge frosting ( a family fav.) and a spin on old fashioned coconut cake which my coconut “hater” husband absolutely loves! The photos from the books were quite inspiring to me. I used to cater and also make speciality cakes and wedding cakes. Since I just retired from teaching and trying to get used to it (a bit challenging), I have been looking for something to do that will inspire me to create again. I think baking beautiful desserts for others is the answer.

My fave cookie recipe is browned butter chocolate chip with chocolate chunks and walnuts. I add espresso powder to the batter and sprinkle the cookies with a little sea salt. Cannot eat just one.
Love to share with my friends and they love it that I do.

I’ve mentally checked off several of those recipes–chocolate chip cookies, the mountain cake with trees, the confetti birthday cake….Yum!

Oh, this is easy! :-) Cake and make it a chocolate one! She is impressive, truly an artist/baker. I wish I had even a small amount of her talent.

I’m TEAM pie and cake!!! My favorite pie is Cherry and favorite cake is a butter pecan with Carmel icing and I put a crumbled heath bar on top! I love baking and do it often even now with Lent in full swing and that’s my sacrifice ….NO SWEETS until the Resurrection! Why are the bakers of all these beautiful treats always soooo thin? I wish I could eat those treats and be that slim! Anyway, I would love to end this Lenten season with a new sugary cookbook to choose my new dessert to break my fast!!! Thank you and good luck to everyone!!! ❤️

Oh my. What an artist she is. I had no idea dessert could be so beautiful and I’m sure yummy as well. I’m really a cookie or pie girl. My favorite pie is chocolate bourbon pecan. And pretty much any cookie will fill my sweet tooth.

Lovely book, both teams, but I love to make a Hummingbird Cake. It contains so many treasures that when it’s like finding a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow when you get to take the first bite.

If I had to choose, I think Team Pie. My favorite is pecan in the fall and winter, but a beautiful fresh strawberry in the spring and summer is also phenomenal.

Such a scrumptious book treat! What a sweet giveaway! I hope you can count me in for a chance to win a copy of Wild Sugar, but I am way out of your radar. As for the cake vs. pie debate, I’m firmly on team pie. There’s just something about a flaky crust filled with delicious, gooey fruit that gets me every time. But hey, I won’t say no to a slice of cake either!
