I am a cake girl. My favorite cakes to bake are yellow cake with homemade chocolate fudge frosting ( a family fav.) and a spin on old fashioned coconut cake which my coconut “hater” husband absolutely loves! The photos from the books were quite inspiring to me. I used to cater and also make speciality cakes and wedding cakes. Since I just retired from teaching and trying to get used to it (a bit challenging), I have been looking for something to do that will inspire me to create again. I think baking beautiful desserts for others is the answer.
I love all things sweet, especially when I’m baking it for someone I love! That would mean Key Lime Pie, it was my husband’s favorite. I miss his sweet smile when he would walk into the kitchen and see me making it. What a beautiful cookbook!
Team pie: almost any fruit pie but also mince, pumpkin, pecan. The photos in “Wild Sugar” are sooo inspiring!
Wow!! What a beautiful book!! My favorite thing to bake is cookies, especially any type with chocolate and peanut butter!!

What a beautiful book, I would love to learn the piping techniques. I am a cookie gal, and my all time favorite ( and requested ) are cream wafers. It is more of a pastry cookie, and my sons and grandchildren all love them.
Smiles, Sue

Wow! I love her very unique style! I’m already gathering some of her ideas to try. And that red velvet recipe sounds so good. I went to her site and was so taken with her lemon sandwich cookie recipe that my husband is out picking up ingredients right now! Mouth watering! Thank you so much for sharing her with us and the giveaway opportunity.
Definitely team cake. So far my fav to make is a very rich chocolate cake with dark chocolate mint ganache on it. I made an “island cake” from that on my blog. I was recreating a photo from my daughter’s honeymoon in Alaska. So delicious!
Louise
Team cake and Team pie! Beautiful! Beautiful! I want to try them all!
What an absolute stunning book…quite the talent there! I love both cakes and pies both but one of my favorite desserts in the world is my homemade carrot cake. I get requests for it often. This book would be a treat for sure and I would truly benefit from the decorating side of it. I consider myself a good baker but would love to learn some tips on decorating my creations. Adding some of those decadent recipes to my collection would be the icing on the cake!
OMG! I want a bite of each of them! My all-time favorite is chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. These treats look amazing, and the book is beautiful.
Angel food cake! Love the light texture. Separating the 12 eggs can be a bit of a chore. But so worth it. Thanks for offering the book give away.
Team Cake & Team Pie! What a beautiful Book!
Mouth watering recipes.
I love peanut butter, so anything with that or combo.
Lovely inspiring book and pictures.
Wow, this book is so full of beautiful ideas! I wish I were still inspired to bake cookies and cakes; I would try some of these ideas! Happy Valentine’s Day, dear friend!
Oh, be still my heart! ❤️ This cookbook speaks to me. I love to bake and especially cakes! I’ve saved the red velvet cookies and will make those for my Bunco friends next week. Thank you for this opportunity!
Anything CHOCOLATE!!! Loving chocolate espresso meringues.
What a wonderful cookbook! Beautifully decorated sweets with great photos! Nothing better!!
Unfortunately for my type 2 diabetes I am team sugar. If forced to choose I would flip a coin. Being a mediocre pie maker I’d be crossing my fingers for pie if I’m honest.
What a lovely book! I’m always looking to elevate my baking skills. I’m Team Cake. I think my best cake is a toss-up between red velvet cake (I make them as cupcakes for neighborhood get togethers) or my carrot cake. That said, my husband thinks I make the best Key lime pie.
What a beautiful cookbook. My favorite cake is chocolate with mocha frosting, but coconut comes close.
Wow! Those baked goods are works of edible art, Mary! I just last weekend made a pecan pie for one of my late hubby’s friend because he always loved it. Being a dessert lover, I couldn’t turn down a slice of cake or a piece of pie. What a great giveaway! ❤️
What a beautiful and inspiring book! I love to dabble in all mediums of sweetness but do have to say that I am definitely a cake lovin’ gal! I could even skip the icing if I was in need of a quick fix. My overall fave cake is carrot with a luscious cream cheese frosting. I would love to learn how to do the embellishments to take it to the next level!
Thank you for the chance to win this beautiful cookbook! I am team pie; I love making homemade apples pie!
The cookbook is beautiful, and the cakes look absolutely delicious.
Team Cake! What talent! Her work is lovely! Beautiful cookbook!
I suddenly have the urge to retire and become proficient at baking. Of special interest was the Hummingbird Cake with Spiced Rum Buttercream, of which I am sure I am already proficient at consuming. I will absolutely order this cookbook, the photos are beautiful and it seems like one of those cookbooks that has numerous recipes destined to become family favorites.
Sorry I am late reading, Mary! That is a gorgeous cook book. Every sweet treat was photographed beautifully and looked delicious. My favorite cake has been the same for years – Hummingbird. I often say I have never met a sweet that I do not like. I am team cake! Lovely giveaway!
Nothing like a great apple pie. Homemade is the best.
I would say I do love a good cake. My favorite cake to bake is a 12 layer old fashioned cake with the cooked fudge frosting! They are so yummy!
A Lady Baltimore Cake, anyone still make it? Thank you for bringing this new baking book to our attention.
Oh Mary, all of these desserts are just stunning! Wow, so beautiful and they are definitely works of art! I am definitely Team Cake!
Jenna
I love love love cake! I make a special one for each of my children’s birthdays every year. any chocolate kind is my fav!
My fave cookie recipe is browned butter chocolate chip with chocolate chunks and walnuts. I add espresso powder to the batter and sprinkle the cookies with a little sea salt. Cannot eat just one.
Love to share with my friends and they love it that I do.
I’m on team cake! Caramel is my favorite.
What a beautiful cookbook – such lovely details.
I’ve mentally checked off several of those recipes–chocolate chip cookies, the mountain cake with trees, the confetti birthday cake….Yum!
Oh, this is easy! :-) Cake and make it a chocolate one! She is impressive, truly an artist/baker. I wish I had even a small amount of her talent.
I’m TEAM pie and cake!!! My favorite pie is Cherry and favorite cake is a butter pecan with Carmel icing and I put a crumbled heath bar on top! I love baking and do it often even now with Lent in full swing and that’s my sacrifice ….NO SWEETS until the Resurrection! Why are the bakers of all these beautiful treats always soooo thin? I wish I could eat those treats and be that slim! Anyway, I would love to end this Lenten season with a new sugary cookbook to choose my new dessert to break my fast!!! Thank you and good luck to everyone!!! ❤️
Oh my. What an artist she is. I had no idea dessert could be so beautiful and I’m sure yummy as well. I’m really a cookie or pie girl. My favorite pie is chocolate bourbon pecan. And pretty much any cookie will fill my sweet tooth.
Oh wow! Thanks for this opportunity, that book is a stunner! Definitely team cake, I love making tres leches cake and once a year, pineapple upside down cake for my father-in-law and husband for their birthdays 😊
Yummy!! Would absolutely love to have this book! I bake with my two granddaughters and I know they’d love trying out some of these!
Beautiful cookbook. Would love to learn some of her techniques. Team PIE. Love pie, family loves pie. Strawberry Pie. YUM.
There’s no way I could pick a favorite. I love pies and cakes and cookies and all things dessert. This book is amazing – oh my gosh, beautiful works of art! Thank you to the publishers, and to you, dear Mary, for the opportunity for us to win one of those incredible recipe/inspiration books of those talented gals at Wild Sugar! WOW!!! What incredible talents have they!!!!!
Team Cake, definitely. My favorite is my grandmother’s Apricot Nectar Cake. The pictures in this post have me drooling!
Team pie! My mother and grandmother were pie bakers. Great memory of them rolling out the pie crust.
Beautiful book! I am Team Pie-I love to bake the Thanksgiving classics…Apple, Pumpkin and Pecan.
Lovely book, both teams, but I love to make a Hummingbird Cake. It contains so many treasures that when it’s like finding a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow when you get to take the first bite.
If I had to choose, I think Team Pie. My favorite is pecan in the fall and winter, but a beautiful fresh strawberry in the spring and summer is also phenomenal.
Such a scrumptious book treat! What a sweet giveaway! I hope you can count me in for a chance to win a copy of Wild Sugar, but I am way out of your radar. As for the cake vs. pie debate, I’m firmly on team pie. There’s just something about a flaky crust filled with delicious, gooey fruit that gets me every time. But hey, I won’t say no to a slice of cake either!
I want all for breakfast now!
What an incredible book! Definitely team cake….with lots of icing!
Team Pie. Always love to bake pies. Looks like a awesome book.
Just beautiful creations – imagining how they all must taste. I like to make pound cakes and key kime pies.
Love your blog!
