During our week at Harbor Island, we had dinner at Sweetgrass Restaurant & Bar at the Dataw Island Marina~ where the cleverly concocted cocktails are all inspired by boats at the marina. . .
Here are a few straight from the marina & menu~
Sweet Thing III~ “Life sure is sweet with this refreshing blend of Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka and lemonade.”
A favorite summertime beverage for us :-)
Last Fling~ “If you could have one last cocktail, this would be it. Fresh strawberries muddled with Chambord, Cointreau, Tequila and Rose’s Lime Juice.”
Sea Buff~ “This tropical concoction of Malibu Rum, Midori and Lemonade will make you want to sail the high seas naked!”
North Star~ “Want to see stars? Try this tart and refreshing blend of Vodka, Apple Pucker, Blue Curacao and lemon-lime soda.”
Spindrift~ “Warm up a chilly evening with the Huntley’s favorite Irish Coffee: Jameson, Bailey’s and hot coffee, topped off with a ‘spin’ of whipped cream .”
Mulligan~ “Need a ‘do over’? If you don’t like it Tom’s way, try it’s John’s way. A Classic Collins, made just the way you like it – choose vodka, gin or bourbon.”
Dance Aweigh~ “A fresh blend of mango rum, ginger ale and fresh lime juice will have you dancing the day away.”

I took some photos of a few boats from the marina that haven’t made the menu yet. . .I had some fun trying my hand at mixology for other boat-inspired beverages~
Semper Fi~ For the Few & the Proud~ an energizing blend of Red Bull and an MRE~ served with a salute, a smile & a beer chaser :-)
Saltine Warrier~ A refreshing blend grapefruit juice and vodka, served in a salted rim glass~ perfect after fighting big fish or drowning your sorrows over “the one” that got away~
Bye George~ Say goodbye to your troubles and quench your thirst like the British with a refreshing blend of Pimm’s No. 1, lemonade, lemon-lime soda & a cucumber slice for garnish~
L’âme Libre~ Drift Away with the Soul-Freeing French flavors of Grey Goose Vodka, Champagne, lemon juice & simple syrup ~
Ready or Knot~ The Knot cocktail~ Are you Ready for this complicated recipe? One part Knot, One part shot glass :-)
Yankee Girl~ A Manhattan, but with a nod to being docked in Dixie~ made with Southern Comfort® peach liqueur, sweet vermouth & bitters.

What a hoot! I’ll try that Yankee Girl…the Manhattan, made with Southern Comfort® peach liqueur, sweet vermouth & bitters. Sound Yummo!
Really great photos of all the pretty boats. Our friend’s have a wickedly fast Scarab named “Hot Ice” & others with the last name of Sauer named their boat “Sweet & Sauer”….per MY suggestion. LOL We also know a lawyer who named his “SoSuMe”
I get a real kick out of the creativity involved. Thanks for sharing these.

Love the names of the boats! I don’t drink, but I’d try some of them minus the alcohol. I spent the day at the bay yesterday watching my gkids out on the boat skiing and tubing. Even the 3 y o! The weather was great, not too hot and a delightful breeze.

This would be my favorite pick…..I love mango anything…and the mango rum, ginger ale and fresh lime combo sounds delicioso to me!

Love the Semper Fi since our Marine son-in-law is busy serving our country in Afghanistan. What a great idea for drinks at that Marina Restaurant. Your new favorite looks real good…
