I’m Thinking Pink for my friend Carolyn as she is begins her journey to battle Breast Cancer.
We joined her for a “Hair Today~ Gone Tonight” Party where her daughter buzzed her hair after her first chemo treatment and we showered her with love & support.
I planted some Pink Rebound Pansies for her and for me, to water with hope & prayers and watch over as they grow as she begins her chemo treatments.
Rebound Pansies are known for their vibrant, long-lasting color and their ability to survive frost & cold temperatures, bouncing back with spring color~ their similarity was not lost on me since my friend Carolyn’s beauty and vibrant, positive personality radiates joy and always brings a smile to my face.
I hope and pray the same for her~ that her positive outlook & faith will continue to grow & flourish~ as her friends and family buoy her as she continues with her treatments and she rebounds from this disease.
Our thoughts, prayers & love are with you Carolyn!
A lovely post to honor your friend. She will also be in my prayers as will you. For faith, healing and stamina. xo marlis
So very beautiful, inside & out, our Carolyn & the rebound pansies. A
I am saying a prayer for Carolyn! The rebound pansies are lovely!
hugs, Linda
Mary, I had tears in my eyes as I read this beautiful post for your friend, Carolyn. I will keep both you and Carolyn close in my heart and thoughts as well. Lost 4 longtime friends to C this summer. Rebound Pansies will be on my list now. Haven’t seen them, but will look for them this week.
Hugs to you ~ Sarah
What a beautiful, beautiful post, Mary. Pansies are perfect for such a tribute/expression of hope. In Spanish pansies are called “pensamientos,” which translates to “thoughts,” and they are often given as a way to let the recipient know you are thinking about them. So these are perfect because of their energy and will to live, and because your thoughts and prayers are with Carolyn. She will be in mine as well.
Such a beautiful way to share beauty and hope for your friend… Positive outlook and thoughts for Carolyn, my neighbors all beat it, may the healing lights rain down upon here~
This is a very beautiful tribute to your friend Carolyn. It brought tears to my eyes. Wishing her all the best on this journey. Keep positive thoughts and lots of prayers. xo
Amen…..Such a beautiful post in honor of your friend Carolyn and the journey she is undertaking…. I was going to say that pansies are called ‘pensamientos’ in Spanish but Zuni beat me to it…. Many good pensamientos being sent her way.
Your friend Carolyn is in my prayers. Being a Cancer survivor myself tell her that having a positive attitude makes all the difference in the world, even on the days when you feel like crap. To help with the nausea put a little of peppermint extract on the palm of ur hand and on a damp wash cloth on ur head so u can smell it. It really does work
It’s wonderful that your friend has such a strong support system! The pansies (my favorite flower) are beautiful. I live in Colorado where the winters can be quite brutal, and every spring a pansy will pop up. There is just something joyful about them. Wishing joy and a long life to your friend, Carolyn.
Wishing your friend Carolyn continued optimism as she fights cancer. I have never heard of rebound pansies, but the color is just lovely.
Beautiful pictures! And I am sending prayer & thoughts for your friend Carolyn. You guys were so sweet to do this party for her. I can tell you that when I went through all this (thank GOD I never had to have chemo) the support of friends & family MADE THE DIFFERENCE! Thanks for sharing. HUGS!
