Treat your pups to Howl-oween Pumpkin Dog Treats. Made with pumpkin, applesauce, whole wheat flour and oats!
Chloe & Gracie had play date with their cousins, Maddie & Zoe. They’re ready for Howl-oween and a few treats!
I found dog sweaters for Howl-oween at T.J. Maxx back in August. The XS sizes were $5.99 and the medium sizes for Chloe & Gracie were $7.99.
There’s nothing we like better than a few treats!
I found a Halloween cookie stamp cutter set at Michaels. The spring-loaded style cutters makes these treats dog gone easy! Press the cutter into the dough to punch out the shape, then press the plunger to make the impressions and release the dough onto the baking sheet.
Howl-oween Pumpkin Dog Treats
Makes approximately 6 dozen 2-inch treats
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/2 cup pumpkin puree
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
2 cups whole-wheat flour
1/4 cup cornmeal
1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons quick cook oats
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In the bowl of food processor, add applesauce, egg, and pumpkin puree. Pulse to combine.
Add flour, cornmeal, cinnamon and oats to pumpkin mixture and process until dough comes together.
Turn dough onto floured surface and knead and roll out to ¼ inch thick and cut into shapes. (Add additional flour if needed if dough is too sticky). Reroll scraps and repeat.
Place treats on parchment-lined cookie sheet and bake 12 minutes – 15 minutes and remove when treats are firm and edges are starting to brown. Cool on a wire rack and store treats in airtight container.

Good Morning, this crew made my day! How adorable. The cookies are so cute and I appreciate the recipe. I should make some for our little madison…she loves treats!
I so enjoy the pictures of your fur babies. My daughter had a Bichon for many years and I had a Shi-poo for 17yrs. These pups bring back such fond memories and puts a smile on my face. Thank you for sharing.
This crew is absolutely adorable! I don’t know which one it is – Chloe or Gracie, but that little tongue hanging out in several of the pictures justs cracks me up. You know she had to be dying for a treat. And that one photo where one of them is pretty much standing, leaning against the pillow – lol. Great photos, great treats and play for the pups. Smiles.
Cuteness overload! I just love these little furry babies..they are so precious in their Halloween finery. Chloe and Gracie are real hams for the camera….I think Maddie and Zoe are a little more reserved! What a fun day you must have had rounding up and trying to get 4 furballs to be still for some photos! Have an awesome weekend and thank you for making my day (again).
So cute! Bindi and Presley want to come and play! Snacks are also good!
Carol, I have Howl-oween treats bagged up for them too :)
Mary, I laughed out loud when the first photo opened! They are soooo adorable! And I’m still smiling thinking about the fun you must have had getting all four to look at the camera together. Chloe and Gracie seem to know the routine for saying cheese and Maddie and Zoe are wondering when they will be able to have a treat! Actually, those treats sound kind of yummy! Linda
So very, very cute..you got a great group picture!!! HAPPY HALLOWEEN TO ALL YOU TOO!!! 🎃🕷🕸🍁🐶🐶🐶🐶
They all are just TOO cute!! Gives hugs to each of them for me. Thanks for the recipe!
Oh. My. Goodness. Those photos are adorable!
What a delightful way to start my morning! This post is oozing with cuteness!!!! I can barely get one dog to pose for a photo. You are a master dog whisper to get four to pose as you did. Sadie would never sit so calmly with those treats across from her. ;-)
Darling post, Mary. Thank you!
I needed a smile this morning, dear Mary, and thank you for providing one with your adorable pup photos with treats. You’re the best doggie caregiver and we love how you share the love. Happy weekend to you and your sweet pups!
I cannot stop laughing. How many treats did you give them to obey you to get these cute pics?? They are so adorable. Love it!
Hi Elaine, They consumed lots of pieces of treats to tempt them to sit and stay for those photos :)
My heart is shiny and warm now that I’ve seen this!!!
Toddlers and puppies….both hard to shoot without movement…but u did it!!! Least the puppies don’t talk or scream or poop in their pants!!!!
How absolutely adorable!! I would love to sit on the floor and scoop all of them onto my lap. Thank you for the doggie treats recipe. Pawsitively great idea!!
Donna, Gracie and Maddie would be happy to snuggle! Zoe never slows down long enough for you to catch her :)
The Halloween sweaters are adorable. Couldn’t you find one that would fit you?? The pups look like 2 sets of twins. My Cairn terrier would love these treats.
Wouldn’t that be fun to have a matching sweater, lol!
Oh, this little visit was the best way to start the weekend. You are the best pupmom. I can see the love in their eyes for you, Mary. I’m bookmarking this for a future time. Adorable!
I think that’s the love of treats you see in their eyes! ;)
Oh, my gosh!!! They are too adorable for words!
Nothing makes me smile more than a “patch” of puppies first thing in the morning! Thanks for sharing them with us.
They are the cutest!!! How can you not smile from ear to ear when you see these ladies!!….They know how to party!
Have a great weekend Mary!
Those pictures are so cute of all the babies dressed in their Halloween sweaters,
It’s almost to hot in Missouri for a sweater today
I’m sure they enjoyed their treats also
As everyone else said, “just adorable”. They always bring a smile and a chuckle. Thanks for sharing and all the work of getting them to sit and wait for pictures to be taken!
I lurvvve Chloe and Gracie posts and now their cuteness is multiplied with the addition of Zoe and Maddie. Thanks for starting my day with a big smile. P.S. The trying-to-get-four-dogs-to-pose picture story was a joy to view.
Those darling dogs made my day – they are all so darn cute in their sweater. Give them all a hug from me.
Thanks for the doggy recipe and have a great weekend.
HAPPY HOWL-OWEEN to Chloe, Gracie, Maddie and Zoe! These white fur babies look adorable in their holiday sweaters and ready for spookable treats. These puppy play date photos are delightful. The cousins have earned their treats and so have you! The recipe is going to my daughter to make for her pooch pal. Thank-you for this spectacular post.
Doggone cute pics! I’d say it looks like you were trying to herd cats Mary… but that would just be wrong:@) Happy Halloween Weekend-have fun!
That’s exactly what I told my husband when he came how from work Lynn :)

Chloe and gracie are so cute dressed up for Halloween and obviously enjoying their visit with Maddie and Zoe! How fun!
oh my goodness Mary, how do you ever get those cuties to sit there???? So much adorableness, all in one spot! And pumpkin treats too! 2 of my little monsters made haunted gingerbread houses today, but they didn’t get to eat them! Your photos will go viral, I am sure!! I love your black & white pumpkins and plaid cozy throw- Will you be taking Chloe & Gracie trick or treating?
Mary, cuteness overload for sure. What fun you must have had with 4 pups! Brings a smile to my face! Pam @ Everyday Living
Just doesn’t get any cuter than these pups in their Halloween attire! Made my day!
