I love all things *bee* and love seeing them buzz and bumble about the garden. . .
I cut some flowers and bee favorites to fill some Quattro Stagioni Canning Jars.
The jars have an adorable bee skep design which is hard to photograph, but ideal for a just-picked bouquet from the garden! They’re filled flowers that are buzzing with bees now. . . buddleia, bee balm, verbena and oregano that’s blooming. Black-eyed Susans are growing wild, popping up in fields and alongside roadways with a delightful burst of cheery yellow and growing alongside red clover.
I gathered some bee favorites for a little tabletop vignette in the Potting Shed. I was all abuzz over bee salad plates by Tim Coffey for Creative Co-Op that I found several months ago.
They’re joining Pfaltzgraff Naturewood embossed bee plates . . .
And bee skeps blooming with Black-eyed Susan for a little garden whimsy.
Four assorted vintage style bee plates feature bee skeps and honey bees.
Gold bee magnets are drawn to silver napkin rings like bees to nectar, for easy embellishing and dressing up plain napkin rings!
And I made a beeline to the check out counter at HomeGoods when I saw this embossed bee skep honey jar. The jar has a wax seal that I haven’t cracked open yet. The dripping wax on the seal probably made the jar qualify as “a second” but I love that the wax is dripping like honey from a jar. ;)
Flatware is buzzing with bees and on a table runner found at Sur la Table on sale at the end of the season last year.
La Rochere Bee Goblets are ideal for summertime sipping. . .
.
What a beautiful collection you have! Love that bee smoker and the Portmeirion plate. So beautiful!
The point of your potting shed: it is a 3-dimensional canvas and your creativity pours out onto it. It is your play place. :) Julie W.
Thanks so much Julie 🐝🌻😀
It’s not “work”, it’s passion! Potting soil under the fingernails is tres chic, and the ratio of energy expended (get off the couch!) to joy received (incalculable!) from gardening makes it all worthwhile.
LOVE the lavender lemonade :)
Amen😍
Thank you Susie, I’m in need of a manicure 🌱🌻🐝😀
What a Bee-utiful post!!!!! Loving it all.
Thanks Kathi 🐝😀
You’re right Mary, this is the “bees knees!” So many Bee-u-tiful details! I spit my coffee out when I read the part about the recent potting shed comment 🤣 This whole setting makes me want to run to Home Goods and hit an antique mall! So over the top CUTE!!
Jenna
Thanks Jenna, Hope you’re enjoying some sunny skies and calm Gulf breezes this weekend 🌞⚓️🏝
I so love all your plates, but these are especially beautiful. Thanks for a lovely display.
Did you know this week is pollinators week? Love your photos and flowers!
Hi Donna, I had no idea, thanks for letting me know. ♥
Ohmygosh, Mary! I’m so excited I won the book (which I will devour!), but even without knowing I won, I was excited just reading this post! I am with you all the way in the love of bees and all things related. Your growing collection is amazing – so classy in all your choices – and so clever with those magnets on silver. And the potting shed…..not work, just puttering and piddling. There are those of us who totally get it. Love that honey jar with the drip. And we keep bees smokers in our booth as often as we can find them to resell. Love those graphics.
I may have to make some of that lemonade to sip while reading my book when it gets here. Did I say how excited I am to have won the book?? Thank you!
Hope you enjoy RitaI I look forward to seeing your transformed hot tub area one day after you’ve recovered from your kitchen and bath renovation. It should be a piece of cake by comparison! 🍰 🌱🌻😀🐝
Love your site, absolutely beautiful and those dogs so, so cute!!
Thanks Diane 🐾🐾
Love all the beautiful (Tried to spell with bee but that darn autocorrect) pictures!!!! Thanks for all your posts.xo
Autocorrect wins everytime, thanks Sue! 🐝
The point of your shed? It doesn’t need a point. It’s an adult version of a little girl’s playhouse. It is to you what an artist’s studio is to the artist … a place to let creativity blossom!
Thank you Vicky 🎨 🌸🌱🐝
Bee-YOU-tiful!!! Definitely the Bees Knees too! What is the point she asked? Un-bee-lievable!! Thank-you for your always, always spectacular posts and never change who you are or what you do!!
Thank Ellen, Enjoy your weekend 🌞🌻🌸🐝
I could probably name 100 things I love about this post and your shed. I think most of us would die to have one like it where we could let our creativity run rampant, putter around and just be ourselves for a couple hours. It’s not work when you love doing it. All I can say is keep it coming and stay true to yourself.
Thanks so much Amy, Happy Sunday 🌸🐝😀
Such a variation on a theme. The bee flatware and goblets…adorable
Thanks Gail! 🐝😀
I LOVE everything about your Bees Knees post. Your blog is my very most favorite and I look forward to see what God has blessed you with each and every day. You are SOOO creative and people that aren’t just don’t get it. I am thankful you share your creativity with us. Please don’t stop. Bees of all sorts are welcome to my garden. I have put out simple syrup in small bee dishes early in the Spring that the honey bees drink up quickly. I make sure to keep it very clean as the honey bees are disappearing and I’ve seen only a few in my flower bound garden this year. I have some of the plates and glasses you show and now on to the search for some you show. Adore your post!
Thank you Alice, you’re the bees knees! 🐝🐝🐝😀🌸🌻🦋
Your creativity and photographs are beautiful, they make my day beautiful, too.
Thanks Eddi 😀🌸🐝
Beautiful post once again. Nothing is “work” if you enjoy what you are doing. Your shed is amazing.
Thanks Becky 🏡🐝😀
I can’t bee lieve all the bee decor and accessories you have. The idea of the magnet on the napkin ring is so clever. I love Home Goods, I would have scooped up that honey as well, the drip adds character for sure!
Thank you Brenda, I need to enroll in a HomeGoods 12 step program! 🛒 🐝😀
So very pretty. Your shed is a magical place.
Thank you Virginia 🐝😀
Love, Love, Love your bee tablescape and all of your bumble bee dishes, glasses and silverware!! I have a friend who uses bumble bees in her second grade classroom and collects all things bees….. Thanks for sharing! :)
Thank you Lanita, Happy Weekend! 🐝😀

Thanks Ellen, hope you’re enjoying some blooms and the buzzing of the bees this weekend 🐝🌸🌻😀
Outstanding photos of the bees in action, especially the passion flower capture! Beautiful table setting as always.
Thanks Johanne 😀🐝🌺
Ooh Mary, It’s all sooooo bee-utiful! I love everything that you’ve done in the potting shed, and I must say that for me, it would be like playing house in your little space. I love all the bee inspired plates, goblets, and thosse darling magnets to enhance the napkin rings. The Napoleon Bee flatware is something that I’ve always admired, and it’s so perfect for summertime. I’d like a drink of your cocktail to do a cheers to you…and the winners of the books!! Hooray!
Thank you Kitty ❤️😀🐝
I love this bee decor… absolutely wonderful! Perfection, actually…

Thanks Nancy, hope you’re enjoying some gardening time and staying cool 🌻🌸🐝🌱😀
Ohhhhhh goooodness sweet Mary! The Bees Knees 🐝 post is most lovely!!! I suppose from the comment you received, she just doesn’t get that some of us “restore our soul” when we create beauty around us. I totally get why you do it…not only do you restore your own soul, you do it for US, your readers!!! And I am soooo glad you do!!! I am continually inspired by the beauty you create in your lovely potting shed, your tablescapes around the lake and your weekend waterviews!!! Thank You! I appreciate all of your “work!” 😉🐝🌻
What a honey of a post Mary! Love all of it! YOU are the Queen Bee of Gardening! Love the bee flatware. It’s on my wish list.
Thanks Cyndi, Hope you’re taking some time to sit on the porch of your cute shed and enjoy the flowers! 🌸🌱🌻🐝❤️😀
Hey Mary, Just reviewing this awesome post again and loving it! We’re at the lake this week and even though it rained today, it’s still fun. Love looking at the water and I know you get it! lol
I never knew how much I could love bee stuff until I saw your post! Your blog is my favorite. I love that you let us know where you got the items and even provide links. I’m curious if your potting shed tablescapes are for decorative purposes only or if you often share a meal in there. (There’s a restaurant in Maine that has a private dining area in a potting shed). I can only dream of living in a place where I can have year round gardening the way you do and enough room to store such a vast and bee-utiful collection of tableware. In the meantime, I live vicariously through you!
Hi Doreen, Some of both and what fun about the private dining room in the potting shed! We visited Maine for the first time last fall and barely skimmed the surface. We would love to go back:

I love everything in your post! Now I must find a bee skep! The little green stool is just perfect and has given me the inspiration needed to paint an unfinished one I have. Thanks for sharing all your lovely photos!
Thanks Ruth Anne, Happy bee skep hunting :)
Mary, I am so admiring everything “bee” in your potting shed! I love the idea of the bee magnets on your silver napkin rings, and the bee salad plates are so perfect. It is all bee-utiful! You love puttering in your potting shed and your creative spirit soars…does there need to be another reason? Congrats to the winners.
Thanks Pam, hope you’re enjoying some sunshine in your beautiful garden this weekend. 🌻🌱🌸🐝😀
~Mary~

p.s. looking the book !!
Thanks for your sweet comment Paula! ❤️🐝😊
We just had a gigantic tree taken down and in the hollow was a 5 foot honeycomb (and a million, it seemed, bees!!) We called a bee keeper and he came right over and saved the queen and very many bees. My husband was only stung once!! franki
How awesome Franki! 🐝
I love all the beautiful and imaginative things you do in your shed !, I’ d give an arm and a leg to have your incredible eye for design and ability to bring out the glory of nature post after post season after season, year after yearI hope you never stop doing it . So many , many of us ride on the shirt tails of your visions and are delighted by it! thanks so much!,Mary in Colorado
Thanks so much Mary! {blush} 😊
Each post is more exciting than the last. Love the bees, especially the plates and those napkin rings.
Work ? Are you kidding ? That’s like the person who said “I am so bored” Don’t think I have ever been bored and if I had a She Shed, I know I would never be bored. Awesome photos as usual.
Thank you Myrna 🌻🌸🌱🐝😀
Buzzzzzzzzz! I just love everything! I went over to Pfaltzgraff to see about the Naturewood Embossed Bee Salad Plates. I can’t find them? Is this something new? They are so cute. I look forward to each one of your posts and I can’t wait to try to find some of things in my cupboards that I have from my Mom and Grandmothers things so I can recreate your ideas in my home. Thank you and say woof woof to the puppies.
Thanks Janet, The embossed bee plates were available several years ago, they must have discontinued them. :(
Mary, I don’t see my comment from when you originally posted this. Not sure what is going on, but this seems to be happening to me. ‘-(
At any rate, I buzzed over to take another look. I’m in bee heaven here! Darling idea with the magnets. I’m going to remember that one! I have some bee napkin rings that I ordered years ago. They are some of my favorites! The bottle of honey is perfect in it’s imperfection. It made me think of a photo I took on my walk this morning. We had a rain over night, and I stopped to take a photo of a neighbor’s outdoor shell shaped chair with leaves floating in rain water. The house keeper was with me. When I took the photo, she comment that it was pretty messy. Ha! I replied, “No, it makes a great photo – a perfect natural vignette.” ‘-)
The smoker was a great find! It’s perfect for your shed and bee collection.
I’ll add some of these images to my Pinterest Buzzzzzz Board. Thanks for sharing.
You and Susan at Between Naps on the Porch are thinking the same way – BEES! I have really enjoyed both of your blogs. Bees are such a cute part of summer and such an important part of pollination. We must continue to bring their role in our lives to the forefront. Beautiful as usual Mary! By the way, your shed doesn’t look like work to me – just PURE FUN!
Soo Cute!!! I love all things bee too!! I have yet to do a bee tablescape, but it has been on my to do list! I just love that first photo with the bright yellow cone flowers with the purple flowers, it is all so bright and cheerful.
I am beeguiled by your table. I have been keeping my eye open for a skep to use on my table. Thank you for sharing all your wonderful tables.
I can not believe anyone that follows you and this blog would question the purpose of your precious shed! Thanks for continuing to amaze me with your decorating style and love for all that you do!!! You inspire me every time I read a post that you have created! Keep sending out those wonderful ideas please!! For those of us that totally understand your decorating style and talents, thanks so much!!! Everything is always “bee-u-ti-ful!”
I must find those white embossed salad plates. I’ve searched the Pfaltzgraff web site with no luck. They offer a collection called Naturewood and it has bees as the theme, but these plates do not show up. Can you give me any more information?
The embossed plates have been discontinued unfortunately. You might try eBay or Replacements.
WOW the Potting Shed is buzzing with bee-utiful things.
Thank you, thank you for doing the Shed round up, as I missed this BEE-u-tiful post last June. We were in OBX on family vacation. I almost gasped when I read about the recent comment about your shed!!!! OMGoodness we all would die for it. I often get similar comments about my Fall and Christmas decorating. WHY do I want to do all that work. Well, like you said, it isn’t work when it is your enjoyment. Right now I am in the middle of undecorating and as I get older it gets harder and slower but I will not stop doing it as I so love it. Thank you for your wonderful blog. It makes me happy when I see a new post in my email.
Oh my gosh! Your amazing and you have a wonderful eye for design! I was wondering where you found the actual bee skep. Thanks, Tina
I So understand the purpose for your potting shed! I would give anything to have such a place to decorate and keep my things. Two people could absolutely eat in there! Your bee table is lovely, as are all your tablescapes. please keep your creations coming; I am in love with them!
I love it! I’m having a “Bride to Bee” bridal shower so I am looking for ‘Bee’ inspiration. I have the Martha Stewart Beehive cake pan. Wish I could make a beehive cake for your display!! I need to find some bee plates and yours are so wonderful. Love those bees !!
Just came across your special BEE place. Like you, I love all things BEEs. My sister and I are going to try beekeeping this year. Our grandfather was a master keeper who never was stung.
Thanks for BEEing there!
