Winter Nesting Table

7821.1

I’ve been doing a little winter nesting this month and set a cozy table for two by our Winter Nesting Tree.

I always feel a little blue after the tree comes down and miss the soft glow of the twinkling lights after Christmas.

I decorated the tree to enjoy for the month of January with sparkling snowflakes, icy branches and pine cones, nesting birds and glittery bird nests. You can see more of the ornaments and the tree, HERE.

Bird dishes flew in for some winter nesting, landing on snowy white plates, embossed with a flowers and vine border, a promise of spring to come!

Mercury glass votives add some sparkle and shimmer and join glittery nests, pine cones, sprigs of greenery and bird ornaments, nesting as a centerpiece for the table.

Wood beaded snowflake napkin rings add texture and contrast, pairing with embroidered pine cone napkins and twiggy woven chargers.

And a plaid throw provides a cozy tablecloth for a cold winter day!

There is a chance of snowflakes in our forecast this week.

Chirp, chirp, warble, coo, tu whit to woo… The dawn chorus will soon return in all its glory. Meanwhile, what a glorious way to pass the winter!

    Happy Monday!!
Such an inviting table. My faves are the cute bird dishes, the pinecone napkins, and the idea of using a throw for a tablecloth 😊.

I love those bird dishes, what a lovely warm table.

Just took my tree down yesterday. It was a little too bare so I kept a few twinkling elements and winterberries out and about to keep things glowing until St. Valentine’s Day. Good to see that I have company.

Oh my just gorgeous!! Love the bird dishes … the table is set beautifully in front of your winter tree!!! I loved your idea of a winter tree that I took all the Christmas decor off the tree and put pine cones, white ribbon, white snowballs out of yarn and I have 3 red birds out of like wax and light up … It is not as beautiful as yours but I will be on the look out this yr for more …Thank you for all your inspiration

What a beautiful tablescape and a special treat to receive a post 2 days in a row! I love the bird dishes and have looked for them in the past, however they are no longer available through Amazon, will have to watch for them on EBay. The square dishes are gorgeous! The throw as a tablecloth is lovely and ties everything together so nicely. Well done Mary, you have captured your love for the birds in a most excellent setting.

As an avid bird watcher, I got a kick out of your beautiful post this morning! Hope your clean up from the damaging winds is well under way…so happy to read it was somewhat minor damages and you and family were ok! (We had two beautiful blue jays fly in for their peanuts earlier this am!) I get such pleasure watching them visit the feeders near our breakfast nook!) Looks like you may get some snow in NC this week…enjoy feeding the birds!

Mary, that table setting is absolutely beautiful! I fell in love with your square dishes, so I quickly went looking for them, only to find out they no longer make them in the square shape. 😥

So nice to see you leave your tree up also. The warm lights and ambience keep the room warmer feeling through cold, dark month of January. Love how you do your tablescapes. I purchased the bird on leaf dishes when I saw one of your posts a few year back and so glad I did. They are lovely and have enjoyed them many times in every season, thanks to you and displaying them in every season, as you do. Thanks for all the beauty and inspiration.
