🕸️ Easy Halloween Candy Bark

I like using CandiQuik for this recipe — it’s a simple melt-and-pour coating that comes in a convenient microwaveable, disposable tray. It sets up to a hard, glossy finish in about 30 minutes.

If you can’t find CandiQuik brand, use your grocery store brand of candy coating, or substitute candy melts or even chocolate chips. (Just note that if you use chocolate chips, your bark will be softer and you’ll need to store it in the refrigerator to keep it from melting at room temperature.)

Easy Halloween Boo Bark Ingredients and Recipe: Perfect for gifting, party favors, or sneaking a bite while you hand out candy! #HalloweenBark #NoBakeDessert #ChocolateBark #HalloweenRecipes #FallTreats #SpookySnacks

 Ingredients

🍫 16 oz CandiQuik Candy Coating – Dark Chocolate (or Milk Chocolate flavor)

🍫 8 oz CandiQuik Vanilla Candy Coating (about half a package)

🍫 Assorted Halloween candy: Candy Corn, M&M’s, candy eyeballs, and Wicked Witch candy decorations (found at Target)

🍫 Halloween sprinkles of choice

🍫 Optional toppings: Pretzels, Oreo cookie pieces, Reese’s Pieces, chopped nuts, mini marshmallows, candy of choice

Halloween Boo Bark made with swirled dark and white chocolate, topped with candy corn, spooky candy eyeballs, and festive orange and black sprinkles on a parchment-lined tray. A fun and easy Halloween treat for parties or gifting! 👻🍬#HalloweenCandy #FallBaking #BooBark #HalloweenFood #ChocolateBark #HalloweenDessert #HomeIsWhereTheBoatIs

👻 Directions

Prepare your pan:

Line a rimmed baking sheet (I used two 11 x 15 pans) with parchment paper so the paper extends over the edges for easy removal later. Adjust the ingredient amounts for a larger or smaller sheet as needed.

Melt the candy coating according to package directions; I used the microwave:

Remove the outer packaging and film from the CandiQuik tray. Microwave on high for 60 seconds; stir. Continue microwaving in 15-second intervals, stirring well after each cycle until completely melted.

🍬 Create your base:

Pour the melted chocolate coating onto the parchment paper and spread it evenly using an offset spatula until about ¼ inch thick.

Add some spooky swirls:

Spoon dollops of melted white candy coating over the chocolate and swirl gently with the tip of a knife, or bamboo skewer to create a marbled effect.

🪄 Add the magic:

While the candy coating is warm, sprinkle your candy toppings, candy eyeballs, and Halloween sprinkles evenly across the top.

Set and break:

Allow the bark to cool and harden for about 30 minutes. Once set, lift it out of the pan using the parchment edges and transfer to a cutting board. Cut or break into serving the serving size pieces desired.

🕷️ Storing and Gifting

Store your Boo Bark in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks.
If you used chocolate chips, refrigerate it to keep the bark firm.

Wrap individual pieces in cellophane bags, pack them in mini treat pails, or fill a decorative tin for easy gifting.

💀 Trick-or-Treat Tips

🎃 Always use dry utensils. Moisture will cause CandiQuik to become hard or lumpy.

🎃 Store unopened package in cool, dry place (55-70 degrees F). If opened, store in an airtight container.

🎃 You can reheat and reuse CandiQuik in Melt and Make Microwaveable Tray multiple times.

🎃 Do not overheat. Overheating will cause product to scorch.

🎃 To thin and make smooth, or if you experience the coating is thicker than normal (commonly caused by humidity), add a teaspoon up to a tablespoon of solid vegetable shortening, such as Crisco) to the melted coating.

🎃 If you’re in a hurry for your bark to set you can place it in the refrigerate to set up faster.

Beware: Some of your M&Ms may fade from the chill and turn a scary pale color….eeek! 😱

  • Melt the candy coating according to package directions; I used the microwave.

Notes

  • If you can’t find CandiQuik, look for almond bark or store-brand candy coating in the baking aisle near the chocolate chips. Substitute candy melts or chocolate chips for CandiQuik if desired. If using chocolate chips, bark will be soften and have a tendency to melt, so keep refrigerated.
