I found Party like it’s 1776 Americana cups at Pier 1 Imports. Fun for your Independence Day celebration, elevated with a Dollar Tree glass candleholder, as a July 4th cousin to the redneck wine glass or stemmed solo cup :)
Use Liquid Nails or a similar silicone adhesive like E6000 to adhere the cup to the candlestick. Liquid Nails says the cure time is 16 hours, I allowed 24 hours to be safe.
In a medium bowl, mash 1 1/2 pints berries with the sugar; let stand for 10 minutes. Stir in 1/2 cup water, then strain into a large pitcher, pressing with a spoon to extract any juice. Stir in the lemon juice and 2 1/2 cups more water. I used frozen, thawed berries for easier mashing.
Add ice to cups and fill half to three-quarter’s full with berry-lemon mixture. Top with sparkling wine and stir to combine. Garnish with berries and a sparkler on the side!
A strawberry on the side of the cup holds the sparkler.
Woo-Hoo! What a fun way to kick off a Fourth of July celebration…guests will be sure to laugh at the *redneck* stemware!
You had to be very quick with your camera to light those sparklers & capture the great photos that you did. I bet the Captain of your boat helped, huh? LOL Well done!!!
I have to tell you that I just found your blog last week at WOW! I have since referred many friends over to look at your awesome potting shed. I love your style, your beautiful photos and all of the creativity that goes into your posts/blog. Such inspiration here! You have impeccable taste!
Such a cute idea! I saw those clever cups and was tempted. You kicked them up a notch with the stems. ‘-)
Beautiful photos as always. Enjoy the weekend!
These are so cute! Leave it to you to be so clever. I never seem to get around to celebrating 4th of July. June is such a busy month (Milestone party for my dad tomorrow!) that I usually collapse in an exhausted heap come July.
You are toooo clever love the red neck glasses. Hope I can snag some of those glasses. Thanks for giving us the non-alcoholic version of the drink. Looks great!
Ooh! I just checked and our local Pier1 has them ready to pickup! Yay! Thanks so much for your inspiration Mary! I am going to try this with Sparkling water too!
Mary you have an endless portfolio of patriotic ideas! Love the USA redneck wine glasses, so perfect for dockside sipping! I must get some sparklers to liven things up around here and some sparkling wine! Will you be watching fireworks over the lake?

No, this blog comes thru perfectly on my computer.
Mary: just love this festive idea for a drink on the 4th of July! I am always amazed by your creativity!
What a perfect patriotic drink, Mary, and in darling stemware! I made some with pretty jelly jars like those for my youngest son’s wedding and etched their initials in the glass. xo
These are so cute. I probably won’t get to them by Friday since I have to work every night this week including the 4th. But I will keep them in mind for a future holiday. Thanks for posting. I love your tables settings.
Mary, I love this idea! It all looks so fun and festive. The cocktails look sooo pretty with the fresh berries in patriotic colors, and the sparklers add the perfect touch. Another great idea from “Home is Where the Boat Is!”
Visiting from Inspire Me Tuesday — have a wonderful week and a Happy Fourth!
Perfect!!! We are having a big picnic at the clubhouse so I am going to make a pitcher of these to take! Sounds fabulous and I also want to make the cups!! How cute!!! You are SO inspirational, Mary!

I can’t drink wine, but I sure can use sparkling water for this patriotic drink bursting with flavor. So festive!

The redneck stemware is just too cute! Another fun post!
Is that a towel or a table runner?
Hi Sonia, It’s a runner, I used it on the table here: http://homeiswheretheboatis.net/2012/06/11/banner-yet-wave-and-a-giveaway/
