In anticipation of Independence Day, I’m on the porch with a patriotic table!
And I’m proudly celebrating the Red, White and Blue as part of a tablescape blog hop. You’ll find tablesetting inspiration from 18 other bloggers at the bottom of this post!
I planned to do an alfresco table by the lake, (see last year’s Patriotic Table with Red, White and Liberty Blue and this year’s A Blooming Watermelon Vase and Patriotic Table) but it’s been in the mid 90s with 85% humidity for umpteen days in a row. . .to say it’s ‘pore-cleansing’ weather is an understatement. ;)
I decided to stay in the shade of the porch and where I could enjoy a little breeze generated by the ceiling fan instead.
My patriotic tree on the porch for Patriotic Fridays adds some additional red, white and blue and provides a Stars & Stripes Salute for our Nation’s birthday!
Assorted stars and stripes bowls sit atop red and blue rimmed white plates while enamel star napkin rings hold red and blue paisley and striped napkins.
They’re layered on galvanized chargers and straw placemats and served up with Americana flatware!
A galvanized three-tier stand makes an easy centerpiece to celebrate the Red, White & Blue!
It’s filled with sparklers, stars and appetizer plates. . .
And Ball Stars & Stripes Jars are filled with blue hydrangeas, red alstroemeria and patriotic treats, topped mini American flags.
Blue goblets and star straws are ready for some patriotic sipping and serving up Red, White & Blue Sangria!

Great post as always. Can you share a source for the ceiling fan?
It came from Lowe’s about 8 years ago. :)
Mary, I totally understand your choice to set your table under the ceiling fan.Summer has definitely arrived.
You find the neatest tablecloths and napkins as well as napkin rings that fit your theme. Love the parsley navy cloth that I am sure you will style with in many ways again. Adding straws with stars and subtly adding stars again in the napkin rings and on the bowls bring out the stars on the flags and banners. Your galvanized three tier stand and chargers and layered straw placemats add texture and complement your red and blue stripe plates.I really like the straw mats that weave red, white and blue around the edge. The Americana flatware pull it all together perfectly.
Have a Happy Fourth. Your porch is ready for a party!
Hi Mary, I always love your tables and the fact that you share your sources! I have a PB rewards coupon that I think I’ll use toward one of those tiered stands! Sue
Mary, As much as I love seeing your tables by the lake, this one on your porch with your tree maybe my favorite one! I never thought I would want a patriotic tree but you have me wanting one, maybe next year. Thanks for all the inspiration you share with us.
What a smart combination of those bowls, napkins and rings all stacked on your chargers & plates. I anticipated this to be good, but it’s really great, esp with that tree in the corner. With the fan above, who needs to go beyond the porch to wave the flag?! Love seeing your tables, Mary.
psst…I was in your neck of the woods (well, w/in miles anyway) this wknd. Loved the lake time with girlfriends!
Yours is the first email I open when I’m checking in the morning!! I salute you and your table!! 🇺🇸 What a PATRIOTS statement…it’s fabulous just fabulous!! Thank you for some of those great ideas!! ❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸❤️
I love your porch. I’m so glad you chose to place this celebration of our country there. I sure would love to know the source of your red, white, blue and burlap? bunting hanging from the porch ceiling. It’s gorgeous!
Thank you Barbara, the bunting came from Michaels 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I think you are smart to stay on the porch in the shade with a ceiling fan!! Plus with your Patriotic tree and bunting everything looks extra festive! Love your tiered tray decked out in red white and blue, and the pail in your plate stack, and the wonderful tablecloth and napkins. Keep cool!
As always, you have styled a perfect table to celebrate the USA with the red, white and blue. With my daughter just about done with Army basic training, I really appreciate your message of “land of the free, because of the brave”. I sure don’t blame you for opting for a cooler spot for your table! My favorite detail of your table is your linens! They just look very “Americana” which meld perfectly with your simple plates and galvanized chargers. Thank you once again for joining the tablescape blog hop and sharing your talents!
Mary, your porch looks fabulous your patriotic tree and the burlap bunting – it makes for the perfect setting for your festive table. I love your combinations of plaids, paisleys and even an occasional stripes!! Mixing all of that takes a certain art and you have that special touch that makes it all work so beautifully together. I am crushing on your napkin rings and your flatware. Your tiered tray centerpiece is just loaded with all sorts of red, white and blue goodness!! Your photos are just so striking and they show off everything perfectly. Thanks for hopping with us!! It’s always great to start it off with such a bang!
Love, Love LOVE all of your inspirational decorating ideas for the 4th of July! Thank you.
Wow! All I can say is that you really go big. What a feast for the eye. The 4th of July tree is just spectacular.
Thanks so much for sharing all your awesome ideas.
Mary, I would love to dine at this gorgeous patriotic table all decked out in its finest red, white, and blue! In true fashion, your table is stunning, and that tiered centerpiece is not only festive but beautiful with all the delightful details. It is always such an honor to blog hop with you. Happy Fourth of July!!!
Your porch is lovely! Glad you have a more sheltered place to protect you from that heat – wow! Love the inspiration. No 4th party for me this year, but trying to put some patriotic colors on my patio for a few get-togethers on other dates in July. Cannot find a suitable tablecloth, so I’ll be shopping for fabric today. The blue paisley tablecloth is really cute!
YES, Yes, and yes to all the above comments. Awesome as always! 🇺🇸♥️😁 WONDERFUL tribute Mary! I love my new patriotic flatware as you have shown above. Thanks for always listing your purchasing sites. Hugs!
How PRETTY!! Love every inch of your celebrations decor. So inspiring!!
Hi Mary-Love your tablescape (as usual)! It’s so pretty and includes so many colorful RW&B elements! Your porch is completely patriotic & ready for the 4th. 🇺🇸 The fan will be appreciated by all with the weather we’re having! The napkin rings & striped napkins paired with the paisley ones are a favorite. The bowls are so cute & perfect with the York peppermint patties & sparklers. Happy Monday! Clara 🇺🇸❤️
Mary, love all your details. Such cute red, white and blue. The stars and stripes silverware are previous. You have a wonderful collection of patriotic decorations and you’ve bought them together beautifully!
Happy 4th of July, Mary! As usual wonderful Red, White & Blue decorations! Great ideas.
your blog is SOOOOOOO inspiring. I read a lot of blogs and yours is always at the top of my list!
Absolutely gorgeous. I pinned to a large group board that I am a member of…very creative!
I so enjoyed your post. It looks so festive; makes me want to come join you for some fireworks! Very nicely done… you even have a spirited tree in the background! Just beautiful!
Such a beautiful, fun and festive table to celebrate our red white and blue!! I can relate to the steamy weather! I so love your banners!!
Happy Monday Mary!!
As usual a beautiful table.
Mary the post is a very nice tribute to our country and freedom.
A beautiful patriotic setting celebrating our country and those who served for our freedom.
Mary, your gorgeous table puts me in the spirit of Independence Day. I can imagine fireworks over the lake and sitting on your screened porch after a wonderful dinner, I believe it would be perfect! It is a pleasure to blog hop with you this week❤️
Hooray for the red, white, and blue! Your table is just as festive as I knew it would be. Love using a tiered stand as a centerpiece! I haven’t set a patriotic table, and may not. No real plans here and the heat is not fun. My patriotic Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty pieces are out. They always make me smile! Happy 4th of July, Mary!
Love how you carried the Patriotic theme from the tree throughout your porch and table. I love the burlap bunting but since we have had so much rain recently (over ten inches since Thursday) I am wondering how it will hold up to rain verses the nylon. I would also like to use the burlap bunting on my screen porch. I also wanted you to know I cut blue hydrangea Thursday morning and used your alum dipping method and they still look great. Thanks so much for your practical as well as creative advise.
Hi Mary, thank you so much for coming over to Marmelade Gypsy and leaving such a nice comment. I’ve been meaning to get over here for eons as I see we are “friendly” with many of the same bloggers! And I love what I see. Count me in as your newest follower! ~jeanie
Mary, your tablescape is so much fun! Patriotism at its’ finest! I love the use of the tiered stand, and the blue hydrangea and red alstroemaria are perfect. I just love the sparklers and all the fun little red, white and blue touches too! While I am a proud Canadian, I wouldn’t mind a bit celebrating the 4th of July at your table!!
Wow such a fabulous patriotic porch! Smitten with this patriotic tree and burlap bunting. Really sets the tone for your festive table setting. Loving this combination of plaids, paisleys and even an occasional stripes:) Mixing all of this together is pure art. You always have that special artistic touch and creativity!
Your red, white, and blue is wonderful , you have such super taste in decorating!
I love every~single~detail Mary! From the really cool paisley tablecloth/napkins to the little star dishes in the tray to the patriotic peppermint patties:@)
OH Mary, the centerpiece is just magnificent, it literally has it all! It’s like a July 4th parade float parked on the table. Just love it!
Mary, this is beautiful! The photo you captured of the ceiling fan is perfect. Love all of your red, white, and blue touches. You’ve got amazing decorating skills!
Mary, as always your tables pack a big experience. Love the table on the porch. The bunting is a great addition. Creative way to use your tiered stand. You have captured the pure essence of the 4th of July. Always a pleasure as well to share in this blog hop.
Mary, Mary you are certainly not contrary unless one would call the envy of tablescapers everywhere….contrary. I am always amazed at all the inspiration you present. Love the white tree all decorated in red white and blue and your pretty tablecloth is perfect. I understand the weather and extra heat we all seem to have…. so cooling off a bit under the fan is genius. Beautiful bunting. I do believe that my bunting is in it’s last year as this Florida sun fades the flag and all decor almost overnight. So I will retire mine until I can replace it with new for the next patriotic holiday.
Beautiful and fun to blog hop with you as always.
This is wonderful Mary! I feel inspired now to put together a red white and blue tablescape! I like how you decorated the galvanized tier tray- great ideas! Love the bunting you added to your covered porch. Great inspiration!
Wow, Mary, this is gorgeous! There are so many fun details here and I wouldn’t want to take this one down. Have a Happy July 4th!

You’ve even got a Christmas tree! Holy smokes! If this doesn’t scream 4th of July, I don’t know what does. I enjoyed looking at all your small touches, and finding all the cute vintage items. Well done!
Mary, I am always so blown away with your tablescapes and I also think this may be one of my all time favorites! The tree is stunning and all the patriotic details are so festive. What a wonderful spot to sit under the fan and enjoy the surroundings!
What a beautiful array of red white and blue!
I am always so impressed with your tablescapes but also now I enjoyed see Ingrid your porch with your tree!
Love it! You do such a great job with all of your decorations, but this is my favorite. You are an inspiration for my decorating journey.
Beautiful, Mary! Have a great July 4th!
Gorgeous, Mary! I especially love your center arrangement -great idea to use tiers! I’ve been so happy with my hydrangeas this year – there were so many blooms I was able to cut them twice. I love seeing others that love them too. I hope you had a happy 4th!
Totally love the red white and blue!
