Happy Wednesday! Gracie and Lola are dog gone happy that the sun has returned to dry things out after Hurricane Florence. Thanks to everyone for your prayers and concerns for our safety. ♥
We had 5 inches of rain, unlike the eastern parts of North and South Carolina, that are still dealing with historic rainfall and more flooding from cresting rivers.
We are thankful that we never lost power and had no damage~ just some minor clean up of fallen tree limbs and leaves.
Gracie says that dealing with Hurricane Florence was easier than living with Hurricane Lola who is a Category 3 1/2 Month Old. . .
A relentless, building storm of energy that won’t go away. . .
Gracie likes to seek shelter and high ground from Lola, who can’t jump on the table or sofa yet, but those days are numbered.
Hurricane Lola is now 7 lbs. and unlike Florence, moves faster than 2 miles an hour!
This photo pretty much sums up the puppy worship Lola has for Gracie. . .
Gracie is Lola’s favorite chew toy but Gracie prefers to stay out of range of those sharp puppy teeth.
On the plus side, Lola comes with some delicious puppy kibble that Gracie sneaks a bite of any chance she can get. 🐾

Our thoughts and prayers are with those who are dealing with the destruction and aftermath of Hurricane Florence. ♥
I never thought I’d call a hurricane cute or adorable but both fit Ms. Lola! I’m so grateful you were able to weather the storm in good form and not have power loss or damage, though I suspect nerves were pretty frayed. At least mine would be. You stopped by the other day and I thank you for your visit! Enjoy those sweet furries — they’re wonderful.
Thank you so much for updating us on how you’re doing, Mary. Yes, our prayers are with everyone who is dealing with the aftermath of the hurricane. You puppy photos sure put a smile on my face this morning. xx
They are the cutest!!!..They will become the greatest of Pals…I remember when my son brought home a second lab from the shelter….that sweet pup followed the older lab wherever he went and always jumping and wanting to play…they are both in heaven..forever pals. Glad you faired the storm well…unfortunately for many thousands the worse may be yet to come…yes, thoughts and prayers are with those so adversely affected by Hurricane Florence.
Have a great week Mary!
I am so thankful you are safe; have been thinking about you since last week. Love your play on words-two cutie patuties! All of you always bring smiles to my face; an important job but someone has to do it!
Our area was so lucky to miss the wrath of Florence.Your Lola is too cute but I removed how sharp those puppy teeth can be and the non ending energy . We had the challenge of a lab puppy a few years back and still have the scars to prove it. Used to call her “the black pirana”. Loved to see your pictures, no matter what the topic they are so beautiful.
So glad to know that all is well with you…not too many places were left unscathed it seems…from personal experience, I know that there is much work ahead to recover from those flood waters…your babies look absolutely adorable, sharp teeth and all…enjoy!
Those two are so adorable. Honestly, I think a slug was faster than Florence’s speed. That’s a great chart you’ve included there on all the locations’ rain totals, thanks for sharing that. I kept trying to see various locales of friends and families, and I know some rivers aren’t expected to crest until Thursday. So glad your cleanup and rain wasn’t too much.
So Glad you weathered the storm so nicely! And the pups are so adorable! Lola is the sweetest! We are thinking of getting another Bichon but it is hard to find a breeder here in New England. Thank you for so many pictures !
I love your blog. It is such a nice way to start the day. Uplifting and positive conversation. So happy Florence was only a minor inconvenience to you. Prayers for those so heavily impacted and for those families that lost loved ones.
Have a wonderful day, I know I will:>)
Oh Mary, I’m so glad to hear you didn’t have any damage or power loss! Such a brutal storm for so many…I bet the rainy days with Gracie and Lola were like being at home on a snow day with children 😂 Poor Gracie, I’m glad she at least has the occasional kibble fallout from hurricane Lola. So many adorable pics…
Jenna
Glad you’re safe from Florence. Your fur babies are beyond precious and I have no doubt they keep you in stitches! Your mix of patterns with throw and pillows are perfect. Enjoy the sunshine!😎
Precious! What a fun analogy for Miss Lola and so true of that puppy energy! Lol Thankful you had no real damage and all is well in your home. Praying for the rest of those so affected. Wish Hobby Lobby still carried that leaf pillow, I love it! Have even considered trying to make my own, but my very old sewing machine’s tension is messed up and I’m sure it would cost more to repair than what it is worth, ha. 🍂🍊 🐶
Thank you Mary for letting us know you & your family are doing well! Hurricane Lola is just expressing her happy factor! 🐩 Wouldn’t we all love to have that boundless energy? Gracie is so tolerate of the baby & should get a few puppy kibble rewards after puppy teeth nips! Ouch! These pictures just put a smile on my face this morning. Thank you for a lovely set of fur baby pictures hanging out on the porch! Wishing you a wonderful sunny day! ☀️ Clara
I always enjoy your Bichon pics. Lola is a beautiful little girl and I am sure Gracie is grateful to have her new friend . Thank you as always for sharing
So glad y’all are safe and sound, Love the pictures of Gracie and Lola; they’re adorable. Prayers continue for all affected by the storm and who will continue to be affected for some time now. I remember Hurricane Grace and my parents lived through Hurricane Hugo…recovery seems to take so long.
Take care. I love your blog so much.
So good to know you suffered little damage and to see those adorable doggies. I can say the same for us, still have some more cleanup to do. We had about 5 inches of rain and the river pushed water over our dock but has now receded and the sun is out. It is a glorious day but continue to pray for those south of us who are experiencing much worse circumstances.
Lola and Gracie are precious! So glad you are safe from the storm. We’re praying for those affected by the hurricane and giving thanks here in Virginia that we were spared this time. Love the fall pillows and throw!
I was so excited to see your 5th Annual Be Witchy Giveaway post because to me that meant you and your family were okay. Also tickled to see that there is a new member of the family…..Lola and Gracie are so adorable! They look like pumpkin dolls posing on the weathered bench with the sweet pillows and fall throw. I’m turning 60 today and seeing your post is the best start to my day. How do I sign up to become a Black Hat Society member? I can’t seem to find where to do that – it’s probably so simple. Do I have to be on Facebook?
So glad you suffered only a few inches of rain and fallen limbs…My brother in the Winston Area lost a huge tree and his pond is so filled with sand now, that the pond disappeared… he is disappointed. You have Hurricane Lola and we have Hurricane Maggie, our new ‘rescue’ puppy who is mixed breed but predominantly a Dandie Dinmont Terrier…We are already in love with her.
I’m so glad your family is safe. Here in northern California, we had HUGE WILDFIRES (largest in California’s history and third year in a row.). Glad you’re safe. Love, love your blog and your fur babies!
Glad you and your family are safe and sound. Lola makes my heart sing with her cuteness…sorry, Gracie. I know babies are annoying. That’s why they are cute, to offset the annoyance.
This is such a fun post Mary! Of course I am just loving all the Bichons! So glad you did not suffer any damage…unfortunately my sister and family live just outside Wilmington and are fearing the worst. They evacuated to VA. Not sure when they will be able to go home.
Thank you Jeanne🐾🐾 I feel so badly for those at the coast…what a wicked storm. How awful for your sister, I hope things are in better shape than they are imagining when they return home❣️
Glad to hear you came through in such great shape. I totally understand the Hurricane Lola situation. We have 5 month old (you’re a long way from over it), 12 pound Hurricane Tinker tormenting 11 1/2 year old, 9 pound Chanel at our house! Chanel has cancer and does not like other dogs anyway, so Tinker is a very unwelcomed in-your-face nuisance. The first month was ok since she had to be on crate rest because of a broken femur, but that seems to have been just the “sitting over warm waters gaining energy” time! She’s just one too friendly ball of energy now! But we, like you, are enjoying the cuteness in spite of the irritation.
Blessings…
Precious Pups!! Love your pictures today, thank you for sharing. All my family in the eastern part of NC are good, we were lucky in Charlotte as well :) prayers for all of those that are dealing with the flooding now.
These two are too cute for words! Those dark eyes looking out from the puffs of white! Glad you didn’t have the torential rain. I feel for those who have had to leave their homes and return to a flooded mess.
Mary, the fall touches look cozy. I finally pulled out some of the fall decor. It may be warm outside, but it feels cozy in.
~Mary~
Thankfully you and yours are safe ! The puppies are so cute, makes me giggle! I sure miss our Boxer Lexy girl, we have no plans of getting another, so thankyou for sharing photos of your girls.
So thankful each of ya’ll are fine..continued prayers for everyone that is trying to pick up with their lives may God give them strength, courage and guidance
What a sweet post. The pups are so darn adorable. I am so glad you fared so well through the storm, so many are still suffering with more to come. It is so sad. Gracie and Lola will become best friends….in time:)
Mary, Gracie and Lola certainly put a smile on my face this morning, they are too cute! I am so glad you were spared the flooding and winds of Florence. See you tomorrow❤️
I am so glad you and your ‘family’ are safe. Of course the fur babies are adorable and I fully understand the sharp little teeth in the puppy world. My daughter has a 3 month old puppy whose favorite chew toy is her older dog’s tail. LOL My little white pom, Jesse James is of the age that he has lost a few teeth and just wants to lay on my lap mostly…
Thankful that all are ok..especially the little furry..after seeing so many pets that were/are in danger..tell Gracie the Lola hurricane will not slow down for quit some time..it’s what I seen with my sister’s pups when she got a younger one to go with the older one!! Patience for Gracie AND Lola!! Take care!! ❤️🌊🐶
Lola and Gracie are too precious! I have a Malti-poo that looks a lot like those little girls, But she is not pure white because Dad was Apricot poodle. Dixie is now 8 years old !!!
Grateful for your safety. We have either lived in or vacationed at SO many of the places on the chart. Is there an updated version? Please keep sharing your precious furbies.
Wow, this post got buried in my inbox and I am just now finding it.
The pups are so cute and you entertained me the entire post. I’m learning so much about puppies since my daughter has a new one. I haven’t had a pet so I didn’t realize how sharp their teeth are!
Mary, I am so glad you had power the whole time and no damage. Thought of you so much during that time.
Precious, just precious!! I too am grateful for minimal trouble from Florence, about 5 inches of rain and just some tree debris to clean up.
So glad the only destructive force was Hurricane Lola! But unlike Florence, enjoy every day with her!
Glad you are all safe and well.
Puppy love.

Courage, Gracie ! Cet adorable petit démon de Lola va grandir et se calmer ! Patience !
Pleins de caresses à ces deux petites chéries.

Poor Gracie but I would put up with hurricane Lola any day. I have an 8 mos old miniature poodle myself. They are so sweet! Hang in there Gracie!
Nice to hear from you. Glad you and yours are safe. Happy to hear that you avoided major damage.
