Fabulous. Love those pods!
Gorgeous!!!!!
Mary, you hit gold with your Chinese Chestnut pods! They are delightful and add that “je ne sais quoi “to your arrangement. Your choice of a container and adding goldenrods, maiden grasses, crepe myrtle berries, Golden Euonymus which were free for the clipping was a great idea. Adding the pretty bird’s nest was perfect. I love the color of the eggs. I wonder what kind they are.
The warty and striped pumpkins along with a plaid throw with real fall maple leaves speak autumn so beautifully! And… I loved the Autumn quote!
Have a delightful day! 🍁🍂🍁
Mary, isn’t it amazing what you can find that is free for the taking? I love your arrangement in the beautiful bird relief vase, it definitely speaks of autumn. The Chinese chestnut pods provided the perfect texture to add and what a find those were. Goldenrods are all over our acres, some places require my hubby and the Arctic Cat. Goldenrods used to be our state flower, it is literally growing everywhere.
I am so thankful for the break in temps. It is such a pleasure sharing MMB’s with you ❤️
Beautiful arrangement and i love your container too! Thank you and have a nice week with the cooler weather around us :)
Are you sure you never worked as a florist — you do amazing flower arranging. I love your pumpkins too by they way! Thank you for sharing another work of art!
Stunning bouquet! I love those chestnuts. Such a beautiful combination! Happy fall!
Everytime I comment, I say “this one is my favorite”. I love the organic-ness of it
Thanks for crepe myrtle idea
I loved seeing your arrangement from foraging your garden, Mary. Aren’t those prickly pods interesting? Thank you for the tips of using the veggie peeler on woody stems, and giving a spritz of hairspray to help with shedding. Your grapevine wreath enhances the whole arrangement by taking it to the next level of beauty. Happy week ahead of lower temperatures! 🍁❤️🍂
Altogether lovely! What an awesome arrangement and the best part is all free gifts from Mother Nature. LOVE that urn and the special quote too. Hope it stays cooler for you.🍊🍂
Beautiful arrangement Mary! The pods are perfect! We got relief from the heat & last evening it started raining & is still doing so! I am so happy & thankful. First good rain we’ve had since Aug 28. We had a shower in Sept but it was quick; this is heavenly! Hope it’s on its way to you. Have a great day! Clara♥️
Mary, this arrangement is just gorgeous! Worthy of any grand hotel lobby, the textures and colors are sublime. In many ways, this was the most fun MMB ever, wasn’t it? It proves that it doesn’t take a garden filled with flowers or spending lots of money to create beauty with nature’s gifts. Those pods were certainly a find, and the grasses and goldenrod are perfect. I’m so grateful the weather is giving you a small break, and am praying fall temperatures will come! It’s such a joy to share our Monday Morning Blooms with you dear friend. Xo Lidy
Absolutely stunning!!🤗
Your use of natural items from your yard is an inspiration for my luncheon I am having this week. I even have a old quilt to use on the picnic table where we will eat. I have a couple of beauty berry bushes and I highly recommend them even if just for the birds who live the berries. Enjoy this cooler weather. Going to the mountains tomorrow to take a foliage viewing train ride. Hope they have some color up there.
Mary, I LOVE the natural textures and subdued color of your fall arrangement. We have those chestnut trees in our area too, and I always loved collecting them and just placing them in a bowl (they do dry and shrivel rather quickly). Temps are down here today too, and in the foreseeable future. Yay!
I’m inspired. I have the crepe myrtle pods and need to trim them off so now I have a use for them. Will add some Limelight hydrangeas(I planted them because you told me to). Them see what i can find. I need to research the goldenrod VS ragweed.
I have never seen those chesnut pods, they are great! Your arrangement is beautiful, you could have been a florist too!!!! The colors are so pretty and I love your warty pumpkins, you inspired me years ago to get some so do every year now. Have a beautiful day!!! Joe and I are cleaning up bushes etc. today. Can’t wait!!! Things are overgrown!
Thank you! How beautiful!
Gorgeous arrangement. Thanks for inspiring me. So glad you finally got some relief from the heat. We are expecting a hard freeze this week. So guess I had better get busy with Fall clean up. Give the girls a hug and a kiss from me.
What a fun challenge for Monday Morning Blooms, gathering everything from your yard and garden! Love the prickly pods you found, so much interest and texture! Of course your beloved bees hopped into the shot for a little more fun!
I appreciate the tip about peeling the ends of the branches and of course the pile of warty pumpkins, Indian corn and the bird’s nest are fantastic touches. Stunning Mary!

I thought those were Chinese chestnut pods when I saw them. My family used to have one of the trees in our back yard when I was growing up. The chestnuts from that tree were the best I’ve ever eaten. Beautiful arrangement!
These are all lovely!! Have missed some of your blogs so am catching up & your arrangements are so great!! Enjoy them so much.
Those pods are wonderful!
As a fellow North Carolinian, I breathed a sigh of relief when our cooler temperatures arrived. Finally it is feeling like fall. I just love the beautiful arrangement you created with your foraging cuttings. The bird urn is fabulous and so are the Chinese chestnut pods. Such an interesting mix of fall colors and textures. We took a walk through the woods yesterday just to see what berries or flowers we might see. I must admit I would never have thought to create such a lovely arrangement with the goldenrod we saw. You have opened my eyes to new possibilities and for that I thank you. Also appreciate all of the great tips for arranging.
This is Fall glorious!!! Thank you for your detailed instructions, you’ve inspired me once again 🎃🍁🍂
Forgot to check notify me of new comments. Trying to find out where to get the copper cups.
Hi Sandi, I’ve seen Copper Moscow Mule Mugs available at Target, Walmart, HomeGoods and on Amazon.
Lovely as usual Mary.

Gorgeous arrangement Mary – I love the height and shape! Thanks for another stunning inspiration!
Gorgeous, gorgeous, so very gorgeous. You all have inspired me look outside and all around me for organic inspiration.
Mary, I love your arrangements, and this natural one is gorgeous. I’m patiently waiting for my giant sedum to turn a bit more burgundy—and then i will do chestnut leaves, sedum, lemon grass and who knows what else, is around…Definitely worthy of an entire post!!!!
This is soooo pretty. I’m going to see what I can put together tomorrow. Thanks for the inspiration!
The Chestnut Pods are fabulous and add a beautiful addition to your lovely arrangement! I always like your tips! I learn something new every time!
Wow, it deserves a front placement at the Plaza.
Mary, this is gorgeous! And free for the taking using what nature has provided. Thanks for the hairspray tip. That will definitely come in useful in the future.
Beautiful Fall arrangements as usual!! Cooler tempts are here and even cooler is on the way!! Outdoor fire is for sure…this weekend!! ENJOY!!
I so love seeing Goldenrod by the side of the roads this time of year. You certainly have wonderful foliage to gather from your gardens to create a most beautiful fall arrangement. I can just imagine how beautiful the banks of your lake are with the beauty of the fall foliage and also how gorgeously they reflect on the water. Happy Fall Mary! Missing my MMB friends!!
