Happy Thursday! I’m sharing a fun little appetizer with a nod to Thanksgiving pie. At first glance, it looks like you’re getting your pie on. . .

Especially if you serve these cheesy bites with a pie server. ;)

I had seen these Cheese “Pie Slices” on a Friendsgiving episode of Food Network’s The Kitchen last year and had forgotten about them until I was a saw them recently on Marsha’s blog.

Here are the ingredients you’ll need if you want to Get Your {Cheese} Pie {Slice} On. . .

For the mock Pumpkin Pie Slices:

Cheddar Cheese

Triangle crackers (I used Town House Pita Crackers)

Rectangular crackers with wavy edge to mimic pie crust (I used Chicken in a Biskit Crackers)

Whipped cream cheese to mimic whipped cream on pie

Cut the cheese in a triangle shape to fit your cracker. Depending on the width of your slice of cheese you may need to trim your ‘pie crust’ cracker. I found it easier to use a serrated knife, using a sawing motion with the knife to prevent the cracker from breaking. Spread a thin layer of whipped cream cheese to adhere the cheese to the triangle cracker base and also to attach the ‘pie crust’. Serve with a dollop of whipped cream cheese on top of your slice to mimic whipped cream. I used an open star tip to pipe the whipped cream cheese on top of the slice.

To make the mock Pecan Pie Slices:

You’ll need the same crackers and cheese of your choice

Fig Jam (I used Dalmatia Fig Spread)

Pecan Halves

Repeat the same process as above but use fig jam to attach cheese to the crackers. Spread a layer of jam on top of cheese and place a pecan half on top of jam.

Easy as Pie!

These are adorable and so simple! Thank you for the tip on how to trim the crackers, I would think that’d be the biggest challenge in this easy recipe.

Mary, How many crackers do you break? Maybe I could find some Triangular crackers because I am not that talented. Cute idea but above my pay grade.Lol. I will make the pecan ,cranberry piecrust leaves though. Definitely a hit with my family.

Kathy, You purchase the triangular shape crackers, either Town House Pita Crackers or Triscuit makes a triangle shape one. If you use a wider slice of cheese you don’t have to cut the crackers at all.
