Blossom Bird Blue

I’m joining Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday.

I’ve always loved birds~  I tend to gravitate towards eggs, nests, and bird images. I found this pattern at Home Goods this spring, Blossom Bird Blue by 222 Fifth.

I only picked up a couple of plates, mugs and bowls, rather than a full service. Just enough for a cheery place setting for two.

This is from A Gardener’s Bouquet of Quotations :

“To me, the garden is a doorway to other worlds; one of them of course, the world of birds. The garden is their dinner table, bursting with bugs and worms and succulent berries (so plant more to accommodate you both).” ~Anne Raver

“Use the talents you possess – for the woods would be a very silent place if no birds sang except for the best.”  ~Henry Van Dyke

“The bluebird carries the sky on his back.” ~ Henry David Thoreau

“Poor indeed is the garden in which birds find no home.” ~Abram Linwood Urban

We’ve been lucky to have Bluebirds take up residence in our house for a couple of years now.

Stop by the Porch for more inspiring tablescapes.

I absolutely LOVE those dishes! Birds and blue, my two favorites! My neighbors have bluebirds every year, so I have the pleasure of seeing them, too. Thanks for sharing!

    Hi Mary,
because the time difference I come little bit late to visit you.
Your table looks just exquisite. That china decoration has a little oriental touch and I love this turquise color. I adore it. The birds theme is always cute. And this is an amazing bluebird, I have never seen such a bird in nature.
    Greetings, Johanna

What cheery dishes! I love that shade of blue, and you have accessorized the table so beautifully! Your photography is stunning — especially the shot of the mug and the little speckled eggs!

I love birds too, and your setting is just beautiful. I’d like to get a birdhouse/dovecote like yours eventually to try to lure some sweet bluebirds to my yard.

I’m so envious of you girls with access to a Home Goods store. :-)
But I’m sooooo thankful you all share photos of what you create with your fabulous finds. This table with the garden quotes is perfect. Love the dishes and the sweet eggs. You always make me smile! Your sense of style and creative energy keep me coming back to your “boat”. :-)

Love how you took the beautiful dishes and the wonderful bird books for the table. We have lots of robins this year. Maybe a sweet blue bird will show up too!
