I’m at the table with edible blooms and the delicate florals
of the Mikasa Endearment Dinnerware.
A soft palette and spray of delicate flowers surround a single center flower of the Mikasa Endearment Dinnerware collection.
And graceful scalloped edges are highlighted with gold on this classic floral pattern, back by popular demand.
Blooming napkins are folded into a diagonal pocket for Mikasa Cameo Gold Flatware. You can find easy how-to directions for this napkin fold here.
A quilted coverlet in a patchwork of floral and calico prints, multitasks as a tablecloth for an old-fashioned and soft foundation for the dinnerware.
And a teacup provides a pedestal for rose frosted cupcakes, stacked on ruffled cake plates for a centerpiece of edible blooms and flowers.
I used Wilton 1M tip and 2D tips (open and closed star tips, one for each color of frosting) to make the frosting roses. To make an easy rose with frosting, fill a piping bag fitted with your tip and buttercream frosting. Hold your tip above the center of your cupcake at a 90° angle and squeeze out frosting to form a star. Without releasing pressure, raise tip slightly as you pipe a circle of frosting around the star in a tight complete rotation, until you reach the outer edge of the cupcake to create the rose.
Rose leaves are tucked between the cupcake and cupcake liner for a fun and realistic touch, served on an Endearment oval platter.
Other serving pieces in the Mikasa Endearment collection include a vegetable bowl. . .
Creamer and covered sugar bowl. . .
And salt & pepper set.

BEAUTIFUL!!! I have, on my table right now, a tablecloth that would match that China perfectly. It’s so delicate and those cupcakes are just too pretty to eat! Would love that China but, that will have to wait. Thank you for sharing. Again, just beautiful!!
Oh my, Mary, I love the dinnerware, the gold silverware and the beautiful quilt! Can’t leave out the cupcakes! They sure would make it to a tea party!😊🌴
Oh Mary, I’m swooning over her at your sweet table. I want to come for tea and a cupcake at that pretty table. I am going to try my hand at piping a rose with your technique. The setting is so sweet and I love the Mikasa pattern.
Oh my, you are the consummate tablescaper! So beautiful, and your rosettes, the arrangement – just really gorgeous. I wonder if the Endearment is microwavable with that gold rim? I would think not, but since you said it was back by popular demand, I thought maybe Mikasa was making it so that it could be. Very nice table.

The Mikasa Endearment dinnerware is simply beautiful…so dainty and feminine …would be a gorgeous addition to any Mother’s Day or Tea with the Girls table… Your rose cupcakes are perfection!
Hi Mary, It’s so nice to see a beautiful, dainty pattern like this available again! I think it would be gorgeous for a spring luncheon or a bridal shower! Your little rose leaves are a perfect finishing touch to the yummy cupcakes and that centerpiece is just such a gorgeous complement to this delightful table! Linda
Oh Mary, I couldn’t concentrate on the Mikasa dinnerware because I couldn’t take my eyes off of your gorgeous cupcake floral centerpiece! So incredibly “pretty in pink!” Your cupcakes are amazing, please please share your talent with the frosting :) Your table is definitely the breath of Spring we all need in the eastern half of the country right now!

Okay, I was so busy drooling over everything I totally missed your icing tutorial! Thank you thank you! Mine will never look like these, but I can try! The dinnerware is so delicate and pretty, it looks like vintage or antique~ the quilt makes the perfect cloth~ thanks for sharing your secret :)
Beautiful! That china sings Spring and Summer. So looking forward to it. It went down to 1 degree last night. We may never get rid of this 3 ft of snow! You did a great job with the roses, I love doing those!
Those are the prettiest cupcakes I have EVER seen! The whole table is beautiful and the centerpiece is breathtaking. I see there are green hydrangeas and are the other flowers spray roses? Just amazing, mary. You hit it out of the park, AGAIN!!!!
Amen! Was there Mikasa on the table? I only saw those cupcakes!! Just kidding, but your rose cupcakes are a lot prettier than mine! Maybe I am not holding mine at the right angle! Just stunning.
The Mikasa is so pretty and delicate. Makes me long for spring although we can’t complain, the weather is stunning here for this time of year.
Again and again, you delight the senses with your amazing styling. I study your photos for the details ~ the rose in the spoon, the clever arrangement of cupcakes with roses and hydrangeas on the stacked dishes, the elegant details within the pattern of Mikasa’s endearment. The beautiful border alone makes this pattern a standout. You make everything sing, Mary. And you make it look so effortless, when we all know it isn’t. Those cupcakes are perfect rose blooms!
What a magnificent table that speaks all things romantic. You have styled the table so elegantly starting with those sweet dishes that can only be accompanied by the roses…both real and edible!…Love, love the tiered centerpiece and how can one resist those rose cupcakes…they are actually too pretty to eat!…
I forgot how beautiful this china Is. It is my sisters pattern. Which I know she doesn’t use. I have the vase but I may have to see about freeing her from this set. Come One Spring!

I must have missed this last year! Seeing this pattern makes me happy. My mother and dad selected this for their new china for the 50th wedding anniversary in 1991. I hope I get to own it some day!
I think I missed this post last year too. It’s so soft and delicate with the beautiful dishes. The flowers and cupcakes are perfect touches for this table, I’m so impressed that you decorated the cupcakes. I have so many tips, I need to practice more on the cupcakes.
Such a pretty setting Mary, reminds me of Mother’s Day! I love the napkins and if I’m going to eat flowers, I prefer them in the form of a cupcake:@)
