I set a table that’s Red, White and Blooming in anticipation of Independence Day!
We’ll be celebrating family members’ birthdays along with America’s birthday this weekend and watching the fireworks from the water. I couldn’t resist dishing out a little tabletop fun with some patriotic fanfare in a celebration of red, white and blue.
Broad stripes and bright stars napkins are ready for a star-spangled celebration.
In addition to the flag, I pulled out some things I pledge allegiance to, including my husband’s grandmother’s Crown Ducal Bristol transferware for this patriotic table.
I added a mixture of blue and white transferware pieces that proudly hail from a favorite antique mall. . .
Flags and a red, white and blooming combination of Endless Summer Hydrangeas, coleus and Queen Anne’s Lace, free for the picking, provide a patriotic bouquet and centerpiece.
And flatware was mixed and matched, picked for $1 – $2 apiece, to provide a melting pot of patterns.
Pots of coleus, verbena and lobelia are showing their patriotism on this high-flying holiday!

Love the idea of mix and match silverware finds..looks amazing as always….you never disappoint……:)
Oh Mary, I love the mix of the transferware patterns for your patriotic table. Both patterns are just so pretty together! The mix of flatware patterns adds a touch of variety and fun, too. Of course, your centerpiece is spectacular with the abundance of hydrangeas.
Good morning, Mary. Your table is beautiful and the VIEWS are stunning! What a treat to wake up to this beauty! Just got home from OBX, we took our family for vacation. LOTS of pics on FB. I want to find some blue hydrangeas, to set a table. Mine are pink here even though I brought them from the old house. I know it is the soil and I can ammend it. Your floer combo is beautiful as well as the flatware combos! Have a beautiful day!!!!

Hi Mary, Happy birthday to your family members who must be thrilled with this special table. Your queen anne’s lace looks like fireworks bursting at eye level and your hydrangea are amazingly gorgeous, especially considering the heat and humidity you have been having this summer! Those saucer/wine coasters will be perfect for catching drips before they hit the fresh white tablecloth. Enjoy the fireworks and your pretty table. Linda
Such a festive table! I love the Ballard Designs chargers and transferware. Happy Independence Day, Mary!
You are sure to have a firecracker of a celebration in this lovely setting Mary! Your hydrangeas and Queen Anne’s lace are so pretty with the delicate china…it all looks cool and refreshing in the shade by the lake. Those napkins are fabulous! We will be celebrating a birthday too~ I hope your weather is cooling now and you have a sparkling holiday weekend, I know it will be full of red white and blue treats!

Love this posting….The combination of the Crown Ducal Bristol Pink and Blue Transferware looks beautiful together and perfect for an old-fashioned 4th celebration.
Many years ago I started collecting antique flatware in different patterns…the best place to find them at the time was at one booth in Greensboro, NC at the old Pomona antique mall…unfortunately, the place closed and I could never find out where the vendor moved to.. I lost all of the flatware in a fire in July 2000, but still have a big blob of silver that melted together.. :(
Absolutely stunning and the background is perfect…………….
Love how you mixed the red and blue dishes and the silverware, I mix my silverware sometimes too, and really
like it…………You surely could not feel partriotic sitting at this table…………lol
Blessings,
Nellie
Beautiful Mary! Love each patriotic detail. Have fun celebrating the birthdays and the 4th!
Each element is artfully selected. I really do love your tablescape and am very happy I stopped by.
What a fabulous Fourth of July setting! Maybe I am biased being a NC girl who loves Bichons, but you are always the BEST, absolutely!!!!
Gorgeous! Your tablescapes are always inspirational! ;)

Such understated elegance! Not too gaudy or flashy; yet simply sublime.
By the lake is a great place to celebrate the 4 th. Your red, white or blue, white transferware china brings charm to your table. The hydrangeas are perfect for summertime colors. Hope you will pop over to Tea in Texas “Patriotic Bear” with unusual patriotic plates.
Have a grand weekend!
