Memorial Day is a week away, if you’re like me you’re wondering how did that happen?
If you’re looking for some patriotic fare, I pulled together 10 recipes from the archives to celebrate the Red, White and Blueberry and for noshing over your Memorial Day weekend and holiday!
Watermelons have been arriving in grocery stores, just in time for the holiday weekend and the unofficial start of summer.
Individual cobblers are baked in mini skillets with a topping that is rustic and simple to make! Substitute ramekins if you prefer for these easy, mini desserts.
A make-ahead dessert using a store-bought angel food or pound cake to cut down on prep time. Exercise your freedom and independence and layer with berries, lemon curd, pudding, whipped cream or a combination!
A refreshing combination of pureed watermelon & lemonade with watermelon stars and blueberries. Add citrus flavored vodka for an adult beverage or serve without for a festive summertime lemonade.
Even at 5AM I’m in the mood for noshing (at least I’m consistent)… I’ll have the bruschetta and salsa please! And I have to agree Mary, this year is flying by… Need to slow it down and enjoy-I’m sure the long weekend will help:@)
Oh dear me, Mary, I haven’t eaten breakfast yet, and I am salivating over all your patriotic food! What I’m craving the most is one of those mini skillet berry cobblers. Thanks for all the Memorial Day inspiration.
Memorial Day is a week early this year, as I just realized last week when I thought I had another whole week before the holiday, whoops 😳 I have been scrambling around trying to get organized and this recipe round up is going to come in very handy indeed! My family will be very appreciative if I whip up a Patriotic Berry Trifle or some Cream Cheese Ice Cream, and I know they would dig into the Blueberry Salsa, thanks Mary!

These are beautiful photos! I am going to give the watermelon, feta and blueberry flag tray a try – I have a feeling it will be a hit with the kids! Pinning to share later too. I’m loving that BBQ in a mason jar too – never would think of that – incredibly creative. Just loved scrolling through your pics overall!
Loved seeing so many fun ideas using red, white and blue. Really love how you jazzed up lemonade with the red watermelon stars!!! The blueberries and miint add so much color and get all antioxidants in one glass.
Dear Mary, I just love how you have such a free playful and fun spirit, it is so delightful and full of surprises in everything you do!!! I am always so thrilled to visit!!
Thank you for remembering and honoring the people who serve our country along with their families who make the ultimate sacrifice for the liberty we have been blessed with.
