It’s going to take a lot more rainy weekends to fill up the lake but we’ll take what we can get.

Our neighbor’s floating dock is no longer floating. . .

And our lake-fed irrigation intake has long been out of the water.

When our little pup was still around anytime one of us laid down, she was right there with us..and yes, we are nappers! What a disaster for your lake. Looks like you will have to receive a tremendous amount of rain to fill that space..maybe the one good thing would be that it’s a great time for repairs, if needed..there would sure be no interference from the water..have a nice long nap!! Happy Sunday!! 😴😴😴

Napping….that’s one thing my Havanese, Samantha, and I do best…particularly when it is raining! Precious pups, there. So glad you are receiving some much needed rain, and hope it’s the gentle kind that does the most good.
Happy Napping to you and yours…

Mary! I was shocked to see how much your lake has receded. Yes, we will pray for the much needed rain. This weekend we’ve been taking a short respite at our largest inland lake in MI, Houghton Lake, and it has been wonderful. We don’t own a boat, but I love just sitting and watching the water. Our cabin is only 15 feet from the beach and the weather has been awesome, in the 70’s, bright and sunny with a puff of a breeze. Full moons both nights which makes the water glisten. We head for home today, only a 3 hour drive. You fur-babies are precious and yes, I’m all for taking a nap. Hope you have a restful Sunday!

  14. September 27, 2015 at 10:12 am

I hope the rain helps, Mary. I honestly didn’t think I’d see Lake Travis full again in my lifetime, but the Memorial Day rains and floods this past spring recharged it to almost full. It’s slowly declining again, but boy is it nice to see that water once again. Looks like a lot of rain is headed your way. Enjoy that nap! Sadie and the chef are napping as I type. It’s so cool and lovely here this morning. We have doors and windows open enjoying a perfect fall morning.
Have a great day staying dry and cozy inside.

Hi, Mary, Wow, I was surprised at how low the lake really is! So glad to hear you’re finally getting some rain…you’ll be back to normal levels in no time….fingers crossed.

We too are experiencing the low water levels at the lake. Two days of rain with three more forecasted to follow should help get it closer to the 795′ mark. It didn’t help the wine festival this weekend but hopefully the upcoming home tour by boat should benefit. Enjoy your Sunday nap!

  20. September 27, 2015 at 5:03 pm

I’m glad you’re getting much needed rain, Mary, and hopefully your lake will fill up. After our rains in the spring, our lakes refilled, which was a miracle.
No, I am not a napped, but I kept baby Harper overnight, and I definitely took a nap this afternoon. Wow, do I feel better! I guess that’s what napping is all about.
    Happy Sunday!
