Calling all tea enthusiasts, I’m sharing my love of tea with a round up of teatime recipes
and inspiration, along with a giveaway!
From Victoria: The Art of Tea: Recipes and Rituals:
Readers of this beautiful book from the editors of Victoria magazine are invited to savor the pleasures
and possibilities of the cherished ritual of tea shared by people the world over.
Divided into four enticing sections, this exquisitely photographed volume offers page after page of ideas for making teatime an unforgettable experience. Begin by learning the essentials, from differentiating the various types of tea to learning the “tools of the tray” and how to brew the perfect pot.
Recipes for classic scones and the traditional accompaniments, such as lemon curd and clotted cream, are also included. The Celebrations chapter is filled with inspiration, tips, and recipes for planning special occasions, whether it’s a summertime gathering with butterfly-adorned china and a menu that includes delicate lavender cream scones or an outdoor setting to celebrate Mother’s Day, where roses–both botanical and edible–are the order of the day.
Readers will discover a treasure trove of brilliant ways for creating the perfect tea affair from start to finish. With a basic “tea primer” leading off this section, the visual journey continues with beautiful linens, china, silver, and floral arrangements.

I love having a tea time with my mother. We both love teacups and teapots. My favorite tea time treat is a chicken salad croissant and cream cheese mints. They are both delicious!
I have pinned from this post! https://www.pinterest.com/pin/118993615144727184
I am also a subscriber!
My grand girls and I have loved having tea time together ever since they were old enough to hold a tiny teacup in their hands. They have their own child sized tea sets that they adore. Thank you for such a lovely post!
My daughter and I always loved a tea break, but since March 2020 and working from home we started everyday at 3:00 making a pot of Earl Grey and have a passion fruit thumbprint or my 3x ginger cookies it is our favorite time of day now. Love hearing the kettles on💗
I love your blog Mary! You’ve provided so much inspiration!! I pinned this post to my Tea Party page and my favorite tea is Earl Grey with a simple shortbread cookie!! I am also a regular follower!
Everything you do is exceptional. I pinned the Tea on the Porch and the stack of cups. I loved looking at those cups stacked up or some reason. I guess it was the variety. And such a variety of treats to eat while sipping on tea! I have a clear teapot which I can brew flowering tea and watch the flowers open while it is brewing.
I love a simple peppermint tea every day and when we have guests I make a pound cake with lemon icing, so delicious!!
Thank you for this beautiful post a and to participate in your give away. The book & teacups are just lovely. Having a cup of tea in the early morning is my favorite part of my day. Sharing the moment with my neighbor across the street, or when at the beach with my sister, or with a gardening friend at a favorite tea cafe, I’m at my happiest. Ginger and green teas are among my favorite. I also pinned several of your gorgeous images.
My favorite tea is Paris tea by Harney and Sons. A close second is their Bangkok Green with a hint of coconut.
What a beautiful book and beautiful post! I pinned it to my “Tea” board. My little social group gets together frequently to go out to lunch and socialize. I have been hoping to organize a tea in lieu of one of those gatherings. I get tired of the same restaurants, not to mention the rising costs of eating out. I started saving tea sandwich recipes hoping to assign one to each person to make and bring and a friend and I would host and fill in the rest of the menu. Scones, of course, would be a necessity. I also saved a pin on how to make your own hat using a hairband as a base so I would love to see the creativity that inspires. Much more fun than lunch at the same boring restaurants all the time.
Such a lovely post, Mary. Lemon scones are a favorite teatime tree at my house. Serve them with a pot of Earl Grey and daily cares just float away. I pinned the picture of the basket full of tea things.
What a lovely post this morning! I’ve been waiting for my granddaughters to be old enough to have a tea party and this inspires me to have one soon! This book looks like it’s filled with so many wonderful ideas and recipes. My favorite tea treats are scones with lemon curd. Thank you for the generous giveaway!
What a lovely post! I pinned the picture with the tiered tray and flower arrangement in a tea tin. I have that same tin and now can’t wait to finish the tea inside. As a child, if I was not feeling well, my mother always made me a cup of tea and toast. A tradition I carried on with my daughter and she has continued with her daughters. Something so comforting in sharing that teatime together. 🥰
Oh Mary…so delightful! I am having my Book Club’s end of year gathering at my home in two weeks and it is going to be a tea! So the timing is perfect for some more recipes to try. I even bought a hat and gloves and I have been collecting tea cups for years. I am so excited! My favorite tea treat is tarts ( the little ones made in the phylo cups with fruit on top) and I have too many favorite teas to pick one. I pinned the Wonderland scene…I adore everything you do in your gardening shed. As always thank you for bringing a smile to my heart. Peace.
I’ve pinned several photos but love the Pound cake tea sandwiches and the Mini Lemon Curd and Cream Cheese tarts. I’m also a long time subscriber.

Good Morning Mary:
Just read your post and was so happy to see that it involved tea and the beautiful book from Victoria, one of my all time favorite magazines. Is there anything nicer than a cup of tea, whether in a quiet setting alone or a shared cup with a friend or friends. I pinned the photo “Wonderland – inspired Tea Party”. Will Alice be joining us for tea???? I would serve her a cup of pomegranate green tea. “Lovely stuff “as they say. I love this tea in the spring summer cooled down and poured over ice with a few prigs of mint however in the autumn I love Harney and Sons cinnamon tea. It’s a hug in a cup.
Happy Friday. Have a beautiful spring-time weekend. Finally warming up here in Wisconsin.
I pinned a photo to my pinterest board. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/573857177534534475/
Afternoon Tea! What an elegant way to refresh and relax with friends (even better when served in the garden)! For me, no tea experience is complete without lemon bars. Thank you for this beautiful post!
My grand girls and I have loved having tea time together ever since they were old enough to hold a tiny teacup in their hands. They have their own child sized tea sets that they adore. Our favorite teatime treat is lemon scones with whipped cream and jam. Thank you for such a lovely post!
I pinned the photo of the stacked teacups to my picnics Pinterest page! Xo

Lovely. . . your photos are superb. I love lots of teas, mint tea with honey is one. I pinned the lemon curd tartlets, so darling. The floral teacups make me smile the way you stacked them. I adore the way you organize your blog posts, a great start to my day.
My friends and I are planning a July Tea Party. The information in this blog is invaluable!
I enjoyed this post tremendously! A favorite tea of mine is PG Tips (“England’s No1 Tea”). Years ago I was given a recipe for REAL English scones – no eggs used at all. Making them for friends is a delightful thing I greatly enjoy.
I couldn’t get the “pinning” thing to happen but would have enjoyed the picture of the clock & rabbit.
Thank you for the giveaway opportunities!
My youngest daughter and I adore having our own cherished ritual tea time. We are especially fond of Rooibos cinnamon tea with simple shortbread cookies. With three daughters, it’s a lovely tradition we have for just the two of us. My middle daughter and I also have tea time when her busy schedule allows but it’s completely different. We have iced tea time, and a baking lesson! I stick to my Rooibos, which is also delicious iced and she chooses whatever strikes her fancy at the time. I always allow her to choose which treat she wants to learn as I don’t cook by recipe’s with her. My oldest daughter and I prefer either a simple Southern black and orange pekoe iced tea or Earl Grey tea lattes to go depending on the time of year and her treat of choice is thrifting for wonderful tea cup and accessory treasure finds.
This post was perfect timing! I’m enjoying a cup of tea called Findlay Market blend from our local tea shop, Churchhills, with my sister.
Thanks for the beautiful inspirations.
Robyn
I pinned 2 of you recipes to Pinterest. I love the beef flowers!
Robyn
Oh Mary, seriously, you should have your own book published, as your teatime treats are works of art. Your giveaway is so incredibly generous and anyone who loves tea will be happy to win. My favorite teatime treat would be scones. Have a beautiful week in your luscious garden. 🌸💖🌹
I had my first tea party 2 weekends ago, with 6 dear friends, complete with printed invitations, mismatched vintage dishes, teacups, linens and teaspoons. The menu included scones, tiny sandwiches, and tea sweets – it was all so wonderful! We still had remnants of snow on the ground here in Minnesota, so a tea party was a fabulous diversion. I recently discovered Lady Grey tea, which is my current favorite. I’ve been a subscriber for years, and pinned several of these ideas and beautiful photos. I am so enchanted by anything “tea”, so THANK YOU for this generous giveaway! LOVE your blog!
I enjoy a variety of teas. Tea is so relaxing in the afternoon.
I love most any tea selection, but my favorite’treat’ is sharing it with friends, old and new😁
My sister, two daughters and I always have a Mother’s Day tea. My youngest daughter always requests a tea to celebrate her birthday. A tea just always feels so special. I agree you should write your own tea book.
My favorite morning tea is Earl Grey and my favorite afternoon tea is oolong.
Mary, this was beautiful! My favorite recipe I made for a tea with girlfriends was daisy lemon curd tartlets just like in your post—yummy.

I have been so inspired by your blog and have picked up so many wonderful ideas. Am giving a flower arrangement talk and plan to use some of your tips and to share your blog. When one is feeling stressed, just looking at your photos is so relaxing and takes one to a fantasy place. Have always loved making Earl Grey tea and simple cucumber sandwiches, and would get my son to join me when he was little. Thank you for all that you do to make life brighter.
I have been a subscriber for a long time and think your blog is the best. I only have a limited amount of time to spend looking at blogs and yours is always a must see! Thank you for brightening our days with your beautiful photos and so many good recipes. One of my favorite teas is Earl Grey.
My favorite tea is Hot Cinnamon spice by Harney and Sons.
My favorites are Genmaicha, a Japanese green tea combined with roasted brown rice, and Senbei, a Japanese rice cracker, both transport me right back to Hawaii where I was born and raised.
My favorites are English Breakfast for morning tea accompanied by any type of scones or shortbread.

I am a tea party lover and have followed your blog for years. My favorite tea party food is scones. I love any kind of flavorful scone. Thank you for your wonderful blog posts and for this giveaway!
What beautiful pictures and the book looks wonderful. Tea is one of my family’s favorite things to do. We go out for afternoon tea as well as making teas for friends and family at home. I love tea with rose petals in it. It reminds me of rose jelly that my grandmother made when I was a child.
Jo
Absolutely stunning. I have such a love for beautiful teacups, and my daughter has also started collecting. My favourite treat with a cup of tea is my grandmother’s strawberry scones, she has been gone for many years, but those scones bring me right back to our garden tea parties when I was a little girl.
I’m an email subscriber, and they always make my day ❤️
Hi Mary, You are always my favorite for inspiration, I l shared the gorgeous stack of cups to all my loves on Pinterest. I love to have a cup of herbal tea with a yummy chicken salad crossaint and frozen fruit salad which was served for years in the Magnolia Restaurant in Rich’s department store in Atlanta. My MamMaw and I enjoyed many Saturdays there shopping downtown and having lunch there made it so very special. Thank you for this wonderful giveaway and I would so love to win this to make my tea time so much more wonderful with such a lovely cup or teapot. Thank you again, have a great springtime on the lake.❤️❤️🌹🌹🙏🙏
You can’t beat cucumber sandwiches! I just received an order from New Mexico Tea Company. They do selections of tea for each zodiac sign. Fun!
What a lovely post. As several commenter mentioned, my favorite tea is also Paris, followed closely by Formosa Oolong. Your blog is always lovely, and often reminds me of the beautiful photos in the original Victoria magazine. The Art of Tea book is beautiful and I enjoyed seeing your sneak peek while having tea this morning! Have a great weekend!
Hi Mary ~ my favorite tea is Irish Breakfast Tea enjoyed with scones, the recipe of which I obtained on my honeymoon in Bermuda 41 years ago. Hubby and I have tea every night together all these years. Hugs, Dorinda

I buy my teas from the Republic of Tea and sip a variety of lovely flavors. Can’t say I have a favorite. All your posts, no matter the subject, are so out standing. I enjoy each and every one.

Hi Mary, I just love your blog and especially this Tea blog! I’m a member of a tea group in San Diego, CA, and we have tea together once a month. I hosted three St. Patrick’s teas for March and so many of your ideas would’ve been perfect! I loved all your pins this month but especially the patchwork tea sandwiches and the mini tartlets, so inventive and perfect for an afternoon tea! When I’m actually at a tea, I must admit the scones always call my name and I must have lemon curd and clotted cream!!! Have a blessed day 🍰☕️💗
Extra love for this particular blog….what’s not to love! Beautiful food, beautiful china, beautiful decor!! I have pinned your recipe for the Lavender shortbread cookies as I love anything with Lavender. I am a subscriber too. In this crazy world we live in now, your blog is a breeze of joy so thank you. My favorite part of tea is scones. The perfect sweetness and size for enjoying a cup of Assam Tea! I make my own jams/Jellies (Lilac, Dandelion, wild Violet, etc. to spread on scones. Thanks again for your cheery blog.
Hello Mary, I have been a subscriber of your blog since April and I just love everything! Garden cucumbers with dill, chives & cream cheese, along with a great lemon bar are among my favorites.
Pinned a teapot.
Hi Mary! Will seem kind of silly but my favorite tea is sleepytime tea! Helps me to sleep ever since menopause. Love your blog and read every one. I am in charge of arranging flowers for our church’s altar which is a privilege. I use many of your tips on our arrangements so a big thanks! BTW, I’m not a profession florist so love reading your posts. Would love this book for my new sunroom! Looking forward more of your blog.
For more than 15 years I have been the “Tea Lady” at our Woman’s Club Victorian Tea. Eight hostesses set a table for eight with their best china, crystal, sliver and linens, adding a lovely centerpiece of their own choosing, each reflecting the personalities of the hostess herself. The savory and sweet courses change with the year, as well as the manner in which they are served, but the tea has always been Republic of Tea’s Darjeeling. Dubbed the champagne of teas, the delicate yet robust flavor never fails to delight the palate and is a perfect accompaniment to any food, whether it be a cucumber sandwich or sweet scone. When I take a moment to brew a pot of this tea, I can visualize the lovely tables, the guests in costume and hear the clink of the teacups. Who would have thought that having a cup of tea could be such an experience!
Oh Barbara, I can see it! What a treat for your friends. Sounds like an afternoon we would all love to attend.
Peach Scones with fresh homegrown peaches are my absolute fave! Subscribed, pinned the lemon tartlet.
Thanks for the beautiful post and chance to win!
My favorite tea is Bigelow’s Constant Comment. I am a subscriber. I pinned the picture with the lovely blue tea tin.
Mary, your beautiful post has me inspired to host a small tea party. Each of your teatime offerings look so pretty and delicious. I think afternoon tea time is one of the nicest traditions. We should all make it a daily habit. The book and gifts are beautiful. You are always a generous gift giver.
Have a beautiful day!
I loved this post . I’m 66 yrs old and have been drinking tea since my teens. I love many different types but my favorite of late is Bigelow Peppermint. Nothing better than relaxing with a good cup!
Great ideas here! My favorites are orange mandarin and anything lemon.
Pinned the patchwork tea sandwiches to a new Pinterest board “Tea Party”
I love your blog and Ofcourse your adorable doggies. I like tea with sugar and cream
I’m part British (Mom) so tea time has always been part of my life. We enjoy Yorkshire Tea by Taylor’s of Harrogate and have a subscription for Amazon to deliver 5 boxes monthly! Even in summer, a huge pot or 2 of tea is made and enjoyed. We drink our tea with our meals (sip and a bite) and love either homemade scones with orange glaze or biscuits at tea time. I missed Mother’s Day w/ Mom and my bday (tomorrow) due to having Covid, so will have a special tea party when we’re all recovered. Love all your posts and ideas!
This is an absolutely beautiful post. One cannot resist brewing a “cuppa” after reading and enjoying the pictures and recipes. Mine will be a cup of Darjeeling! And if I had it readily available a scone and lemon curd. It would take me momentarily back to a lovely little English tea shoppe that I once visited. Thank you for a beautiful moment visiting your blog!
My favorite tea is English Breakfast Tea but Oswego (Bee Balm) tea is tasty too. I have pinned the Lavender Shortbread recipe. I want to collect tea pots and cups and saucers in my next life. No room in my house for another collection this time around. That said I have quite a few of both. What would happen if I actually gave in to collecting them?
What a beautiful and inspiring post Mary. My favorite tea is Earl Grey.
My daughter and I love English Breakfast Tea with a splash of sweet cream in the mornings.
Also, I am a subscriber and pinned to my Pinterest board.
I like Earl Grey Tea with savory dishes and Jasmine tea with sweet ones. My favorites tea dishes are dilled salmon cucumber sandwiches and scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream or lemon curd.
Thank you, Mary, for sponsoring this give-away.
My friend comes for tea quite often and we are enjoying cookies.
Sheila
I am a subscriber.

Sheila
Perfect timing for this post! I’m having an afternoon tea tomorrow and just finished the tea sandwiches. I love Victoria and every one of these photos that you shared! Thank you for more inspiration!
I loved this post on such a lovely book. I favor Earl Gray tea and I also enjoy a cup of Lemon Lift. My davorite treats are almond cranberry biscotti and cucumber sandwiches. I look forward to making those mini lemon curd cream cheese tarts and the pound cake sandwiches. Thanks for sharing this beautiful book. It inspires me to have a tea party.
I am a coffee drinker mostly. I like the idea of tea and a pretty table set with scones and clotted cream. I have enjoyed the ritual of tea in many pretty places. I still need to add that book to my collection.
What an absolutely lovely post – you are just so amazing. Tea parties make me feel so very special and hosting a tea party is truly a gift to myself. I find preparing for the event such fun and so energizing… from the place cards, favors, floral decorations, finger sandwiches, scones, desserts to lots and lots of lemon curd. My favorite teas are floral… rose and jasmine; and although cucumber is my absolute favorite sandwich, I am now inspired to try my hand at some of those pound cake tea sandwiches. Thanks for a great read.
Love your photos and presentations! My favorite tea is orange pekoe, and I agree with the comment or above… lemon bars are perfect!
Thank you for a WONDERFUL post about tea time!!! This is my world and it helps that my daughter and I own a tea blending company. Spot of Tea. You gave us plenty of ideas for our next tea party. :)
I forgot to add that I love the patchwork sandwiches and my favorite tea is Almond Joyful of our own blend ( Spot of Tea).
I discovered my love for Earl Grey tea at a wonderful Bed & Breakfast. For a simple morning tea experience, I enjoy accompanying triangles of cinnamon toast and clementine slices. Now that summer is approaching, I look forward to tea on my screen porch surrounded by white hydrangeas and red geraniums. The cats will be happy to join me!
Peach Tea an raspberry scones, and extending hospitality to friends, both old and new
There is nothing like a cup of tea, rewatching Dowton Abbey had reminded me of that, and how tea cures all! My favorite tea these days is No Obligations Decaffeinated Black Tea by Plum Deluxe, so good with a sweet biscotti or scone!
How beautiful! I love to go out for tea! I also love to have a cup at home! It’s hard to say which is my favorite, but if I must choose, it is Harney and Son’s blueberry green tea. It would be delightful to have this tea book! I would spend many an afternoon immersed in it! I pinned the teapot/ cup from Portmeirion. Thanks, Mary, for your great blog! I look forward to each posting.
🌷I always enjoy my tea break, time to collect my thoughts! One of my favorite teas is Lady Earl Grey. I also enjoy “Paris” described as a fruity black tea with vanilla, caramel flavors & a lemony bergamot which is the signature tea at a lovely French bakery & tea shop near by. I enjoy any type of scone with clotted cream & lemon curd of course. Cucumber & dill cream sandwiches are delicious! 🌷🌷
I pinned two photos and subscribe to your blog which I look forward to reading each week. 🌷
Jo
For savory, I love salmon and herb butter sandwiches. For sweet, just about anything chocolate and if it is a macaron, even better! Don’t hate on me but I am not much of a hot tea drinker. While everyone else is enjoying their lovely cups of warm tea, I enjoy a raspberry infused iced tea. 😃
Thank you Mary for the lovely giveaway opportunity. I am a relatively new follower of your blog and your posts are always so beautiful! I pinned the “rose” beef bites and will try them out next weekend when I’m having a little girl’s crafting afternoon with some friends.
I love scones of any kind & they are always best with a nice cup of tea! When I lived in Colorado there was a B & B that served & sold the most scrumptious scones. They very kindly shared their recipe with me & I freeze the dough so I can bake a few whenever the spirit moves me. I pinned the photo of the plate of scones & lovely flowers. Itafe me smile!
I pinned both the Rose Beef Bites and the Patchwork Tea Sandwiches to add to my growing collection of tea party recipes, although my favorite treat is my egg, cream cheese, and spinach tea sandwich which I make once a month to share for coffee hour at church. As a long time reader, I am always delighted when you revisit the theme of “Tea Party”…which is my favorite way to entertain and while away an afternoon using the silver and china I inherited from generations of ancestors who loved beautiful things.
My sisters and I love having our tea in a beautiful teapot. Sometimes it is a large tea pot other times it is three tea pots for one. We drink black decaffeinated tea. I love following this blog. pinterested .
Marion
How sweet of you. Thank you for doing this. I’m sure whoever wins will be so happy. You asked us to respond with our favorite tea or tea treat. I know many people like some pretty unusual teas, but my absolute favorite is Constant Comment Orange Tea. I am not sure what it is about that tea, but whenever I don’t feel well, that tea is the one that helps me feel better. As far as tea treats, I’m one of those who loves anything sweet. When my husband and I visited England several years ago, we stopped for tea with scones and Devonshire cream. Oh my goodness, we both fell in love. I have tried often to replicate it with no luck. Anyway, I think that would probably be my favorite tea treat. Thank you again. I love reading your blogs.
My favorite tea treat is orange and cranberry scones, especially in the fall.
I Love the Lemon curd & cream cheese tarts. I grew up with my mother serving tea every afternoon with her fine china. So many wonderful memories at tea time. That you got this Special post.
Thank you for this post. I have pined the Mini Lemon curd post!!!
So loved the tea party theme! When my daughter was in preschool we began having a Valentine’s Tea which continued every year until she graduated from high school! It was precious to see them come in their best dresses, gloves, hats and purses! Several of her friends attended every year and expressed their wishes for them to continue 😍
For tea party treats I love chicken sandwiches and anything lemon and shortbread. I need to explore the world of teas more and have yet to pick a favorite but I do love jasmine and Good Earth Sweet and Spicy. All your tea party themes are just beautiful. I adore the Grace Teaware Teacup and the Victoria Art of Tea book would be the icing on the tea cake!
I have pinned so many of your tea party posts that I don’t know where to start! Wait, the last one I pinned was the photo in the Victoria Art of Tea book of the Grace Teaware teacup…swoon!
Your posts are so creative. I love scones and, usually, use black tea. I am a subscriber.
My favorite tea is English Brsakfast with a scone
I had a really hard time choosing among your photographs which one to pin but finally chose the Lemon Lavender cookies. They will be wonderful with a cup of tea. My favorite dishes are in the Portmeition Queens Hidden Garden pattern.
So delightful, like the olden days with novel bakers 😍. I keep telling myself next year I will finally have time to putter and play, this year still a plow horse! Off to work I go, thanks for planting so much gorgeousness in brain and hunger in my tummy!
What a beautiful post, Mary! My favorite tea time treat is a freshly baked scone with a drizzle of icing, or sliced strawberries with sweetened whipped cream on it. Thanks for the chance to enter and win! Tina
I love tea and my favorite is earl grey tea with bergamot oil. I have also pinned one of your pictures from this blog to my Pinterest board Tea Time – https://www.pinterest.com/annb26/tea-time/. Thank you for the opportunity to with the book with tea cup or the tea for one set. I do not comment often but I really do love your blogs. All of your flowers are just beautiful. Thank you for always sharing them with us.
Tea and cookies was a special treat that I used to share with my grandmother. She had a large collection of tea pots that I always loved to look at. When she passed away, they were given to me. Now my daughters and I have tea parties at least once a month! My favorite tea is Earl Gray and I love scones with clotted cream lemon curd.
Hi Mary,
Four years ago i went to Sweden for the first time….and fell in love with their teas…My very favorite is from the Tea Centre of Stockholm and it is called Söderblandning.
